Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I got the dual person. It came with two XS Wireless packs. They both had the same frequency. How to chance one to a different frequency?

A: Changing frequency on the Sennheiser XSW 1 DUAL 2-Person Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System Kit can be initiated on the EM-XSW 1 Dual-Channel Stationary Receiver. First, press the Up/Down button on the specific receiver module you would like to change and select "Scan". Press the "Set" button next to activate this function, where the receiver will select an open channel. Next, power on your correlating transmitter and press the "Sync" button until the receiver's display flashes "SYNC". Finally, press the "Sync" button on the receiver to transfer the selected frequency to the transmitter. This process is described in further detail on page 11 of the system manual linked here: https://bhpho.to/3qHYANh

Q: 2. Is this receiver rack mountable?

A: The Sennheiser XSW 2 Wireless Combo System with Handheld Mic & Senal Earset Mic (A: 548 to 572 MHz), BH # SEXSW2835AX (B&H Kit), is rack mountable (1/2 rack space) via the included rack mount kit.

Q: 3. The default sensitivity is -30. Is it recommended to put it higher to -15 or is -30 good? I am recording educational lectures in a studio space.

A: I would recommend doing a test recording with the mic starting off with the default sensitivity setting. Experiment with the settings as well as the positioning of the mic to find the combination that works best for you. When you do the test recordings, you can say which setting you are using for the sensitivity level and where the mic is placed. Just speak and record, and that way you can easily listen back and compare the audio clips without having to remember how everything was set up.

Q: 4. Is it possible to purchase this bundle with a black Senal mic (UEM-155-35H-BK) rather than the beige (UEM-155-35H-BE)?

A: You would need to request a custom quote to look into that by emailing sales@bhphoto.com or you can choose the closest option available on the website; B&H # SEXSW2CI1AIM

Q: 5. Will the receiver on this work with remote antennae?

A: Yes it will. Depending on what you want to do, you may need to get an antenna distribtion/splitter such as the Sennheiser ASA 214 (for multiple systems), and/or use low loss 50ohm cables for runs in excess of 50'

Q: 6. Where is this product manufactured?

A: The Sennheiser XSW 2-835-A is currently manufactured in Taiwan.

Q: 7. Can I use ASA 214 (Antenna Spliiter from Sennheiser or other models) for use with 4 systems/receiver EM-XSW2?

A: The Sennheiser ASA-214 is designed for Sennheiser ew G3 and ew G4 Receivers and is not compatibbe with the Sennheiser XSW2-ME2 Wireless Lavalier Microphone System (A: 548 to 572 MHz) BH #SEXSW2ME2A.

Q: 8. Can I get this in the G frequency Range or another Range?

A: No. As a US dealer, B&H offers the components in the Sennheiser XSW 2 Wireless Combo System with Handheld Mic & Senal Earset Mic for frequency range A (548 to 572 MHz) which is the only frequency band offered for the XS Wireless Series systems to use in North America. All of the frequency bands for Sennheiser's XS Wireless Series systems differ from the frequency bands used for the Evolution Wireless Series and the components from these two series do not work together. For example, frequency range A for the Evolution Wireless Series system is 516 to 558 MHz, which is different from the A range for the XS Wireless series. There is no frequency range G for the XS Wireless Series and the other ranges that Sennheiser offers for the XS systems are only for use in different countries. Each of the other frequency ranges for the XS Wireless Series are only sold in the countries where they can be used.

Q: 9. Is there a separate XLR out for each channel?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser EM-XSW 1 Dual-Channel Stationary Receiver has separate XLR and 1/4" outputs for each channel.

Q: 10. How far can you be from the receiver before the signal starts to drop out ?

A: Every situation is different, so it is difficult to say what kind of distance you will get exactly, before the RF signal begins to drop off. Given the output power of the transmitter is 10mW, you can expect clear reception within 75-100 feet in an open space with low RF and a low squelch setting.

[Wideband FM] I specifically got this unit because it does not operate in the 2.4 GHz bandwidth which is unbelievably overcrowded at the moment. I actually think the sound quality is a little better than my Line 6 Relay G90 unit that I have been using for the past five years. I used this system over the weekend in a casino where my line 6 unit had severe drop out issues due to the 2.4 GHz bandwidth. This unit performed flawlessly and I am very happy with it. The obvious weak link in this system though is the guitar cable which seems to be very cheap. I went ahead and ordered Neutrik connectors and bulk cable and made a couple of my own cables which are bulletproof. Overall you cannot beat the system for the quality and reliability in this price point.

[25 kHz] This was our first step up past $40 units, we kept fighting with them until the point of failure was to much. We purchased 3 of these, They have been great, even with no line of sight, through two walls with metal studs they have not lost connection. Sound quality has been more than we could have hoped for.

[Battery] We use exclusively Sennheiser wireless equipment, and have never had a failure while performing. Added this to our rack the day of the show and it performed flawlessly. B&H ALWAYS delivers. Amazing product from an amazing distributor.

[Battery] Same EW100 unit that the vocal stuff has. and b&h threw in a lapel. A lot cheaper than the EW100 that came with a lapel. Used with a countryman E6 this past week and it worked great.
