Equipped with a large aperture and a broad zoom range, the Celestron 15-35x70 SkyMaster Zoom Binoculars are an ideal choice for long-duration astronomical or long-distance terrestrial use. The large objectives ensure volumes of light are gathered to see better than smaller-aperture models, and the easy zoom lever allows you set the binoculars on low-power to easily find your subject, then zoom in to detailed, close observations. These binoculars are engineered with an exceptionally long eye relief to make them comfortable to look through for extended periods of time, while limiting eye strain. Because of the size and weight of the SkyMaster binoculars, Celestron includes a tripod adapter to provide a hands-free option and relieve arm-strain, reduce fatigue, and limit vibrations.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. i want binoculars to see the evening sky. what do the numbers 25x70, 20x80, 25x100, etc, describe? thanks

A: The first number is the magnification factor. The higher the number, the lower the field of view. The lower the number, the wider the field of view. The second number is the diameter of the lens. The bigger the number, the more light is let in. The minimum recommended size for night sky watching is 10x50. If the target object is faint, then 15x70 or higher binoculars are nice to have.

Q: 2. Do the oculars have threads so you can screw on filters?

A: No, this would not have threads so you can screw on filters.

Q: 3. I have a Celestron 25x100 binocular that came with a Celestron Alt-Azimuth tripod Model 93607 but they don't seem to mate very well and the tripod does not elevate more than a few degrees above hrozontal. Do I have the wrong tripod?

A: I have the same binoculars and tripod. The mating to the tripod is very solid; no problem at all. Perhaps you've sorted that out by now. The range of elevation angles is somewhat limited from what I'd prefer. It's about plus/minus 20 degrees. However, anything more could make it very awkward to sight through the binoculars.

Q: 4. Does this come with tripod adapter?

A: Yes, the Celestron 15-35x70 SkyMaster Zoom Binoculars BH #CE1535X70SM • MFR #71013 come with a tripod adapter. In the Box Celestron 15-35x70 SkyMaster Zoom Binoculars Soft Carrying Case Tripod Adapter ********************** Neck Strap Lens Cloth One-Piece Ocular Rainguard 2 x Objective Lens Caps Limited Lifetime Warranty

Q: 5. Do you have solar filters available for the 25 x 100 binocular

A: The MrStarGuy Adjustable Objective White Light Solar Filter (86-117mm OD) might work well. However no guarantee. These really weren't made to accept Filters. You would need to purchase 2 pieces. Website link: https://bhpho.to/2iDa5RJ

Q: 6. Every where I look they say that a tri-pod adapter is included ? I did not receive this item, not in box !

A: Yes, the tripod adapter is located inside the packing foam. Please contact Celestron's Technical Support Department, and they will be able to provide you with a new adapter. The best way to reach them is by submitting a ticket here: https://www.celestron.com/pages/technical-support Sorry for inconvenience. Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron

Q: 7. Will the size of the objective lens make this too bright for nature and daytime viewing?

A: When viewing with the Celestron 15-35x70 SkyMaster Zoom Binoculars, the size of the Objective lens (70mm), will allow the viewer to see more details in all kinds of lighting during the day. If one is viewing in a bright situation the large objective wikll allow the viewer to see deatils that were not viewable before.

Q: 8. I bought one of these very heavy binos. Used it a couple or 3 times on my Manfrotto t-pod. They are so heavy that, on the 4th or 5th nite, they stripped the threads off of the socket & it hit the pavement. This knocked both tubes out of alignment! At least the only external damage - to one tube - was an extremely small ding & a scratch or 2. STW - does anyone know of repair shops that do realignments? I'm in the Boston, MA area.

A: Sorry to hear your binocular got damaged. Please contact our technical support team and a representative will be able to assist you in getting your SkyMaster 20x80 repaired. The best way to reach them is by submitting a ticket here: https://www.celestron.com/pages/technical-support

Q: 9. Can I see the rings of saturn and the bands on jupiter with 20x80?

A: Absolutely. A 20x power binocular will easily show the rings of Saturn and bands of Jupiter along with moons of Jupiter. These are excellent binoculars also for viewing many other objects in the night sky.

Q: 10. can you screw in a t-adapter into the ocular to attach a camera to?

A: No you cannot screw in a T-adapter into the Celestron 20x80 SkyMaster Binoculars BH #CE20X80SM • MFR #71018

[Center] I truly love these binoculars but I highly recommend getting a tripod support because you see so far it wiggles when you're viewing what you're viewing. I'd love these binoculars for star and moon gazing

[15 to 35x] The bin, I must say, is a deep sky marvel, if you're at a dark sight (practically required). This tripod I don't believe is rated for over 10lbs, which is necessarily a requirement in my opinion. The phone agent at B&H suggested I get instead a Magnus VT-350, and I'm happy to report that two are seemingly married to one another. Still, I find it difficult to snap the plate, having first been attached it to the rail, onto the tripod. I suspect, however, this is due primarily to the beefiness of the binocular (quite substantial), and no fault of the setup. And also to the fact that I've only practiced it once...

[70 mm] These 25x100 Celestrons are hefty enough for any binocular to be without some kind of highly specialized mount, one that exceeds the 9+ pounds rated one included in the package deal that B&H is offering. They exhibit little to no comatic aberration, provide pinpoint stellar imagery, peer quite deeply into extra-galactic objects as well.

Their telephone agent in fact quite rightly recommended that instead I order the Magnus VT-350, which was not only on sale, but can more easily manage the considerable heft of the 25x100s. An excellent choice! It is a very sturdy platform for the ginormous unit, coming with all the bells and whistles one would expect from a formidable piece of equipment, and will also easily accommodate my 20x80s, or for that matter, anything else I'd like to mount on it.

But more importantly, the 25x100s are one of the finest binoculars I own (and I own an embarrassing number)...

[5.6 lb] These binoculars 25x100 were the most powerful i could find in my price range, more powerful are way more money. I am very happy with them, they have crystal clear viewing, i can see the moons of Jupiter pretty well. They are not tellascopes so don't expect to see the flag on the moon. But a full moon looks real crisp and quite fascinating. I would definitely recommend these to any one just starting out for sure. Get the tripod too, the celestron one is $. or so. ... The tripod works very well too.

[Porro (BAK4)] I purchased my Celestron 25 x 100 binoculars from B &H and mounted them on a tripod rated for 10 lbs. I use them for astronomy and can see ORION and the Horsehead nebula very well as well as the moons that orbit Jupiter and the rings around Saturn. I also was able to use them to observe the comet PANSTARRS with great clarity. I very impressed with the optics as I also have a pair of FUJINON 16x70 and these Celestron are just as good. For the money I don't think you can go wrong and Celestron stands behind their products. I would recommend them highly.

[Center] Nice quality, very powerful. Yes, as the other ratings say, you WILL need a tripod, but that is what you get when you buy a serious set of binoculars. Amazing value!!

[15 to 35x] As i live on a city with light polution, these marvelous binoculars help me to see the stars, constelations and globular clusters, that's impossible without it, even the 4 Jupiter satelites. But, be aware that's need a tripod, because of the weight.
