Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the receiver on this work with remote antennae?

A: Yes it will. Depending on what you want to do, you may need to get an antenna distribtion/splitter such as the Sennheiser ASA 214 (for multiple systems), and/or use low loss 50ohm cables for runs in excess of 50'

Q: 2. Can I plug this mic into a regular audio interface Mic Pre?

A: Greetings: I am researching this question myself. First of all, there are a few microphones from Shure and Audio Technica that are made to directly plug in ot XLR fittings that go into a mixer board. The unit that is by Pyle most likely will require phantom power to work, since wireless body paks provide about 9 volts for energizing the microphone. A possible risk point with a direct connection is that phantom power typically is 48 volts, far beyond the scope of what this microphone is usually fed with. This is an involved subject,

Q: 3. Will this mic work with the packs for Pyle PDWM8900?

A: The cable connector is not compatible with the Pyle PDWM8900.

Q: 4. Will this work with my Boya Wireless Mic system?

A: It should swork with any wireless transmitter that has the right type of connector. Look carefully at the picture and see if the plug at the end of the cable looks like it would fit the jack on your body pack.

Q: 5. Do these work with Sennheiser belt packs?

A: No, the Pyle Pro PMHM2 Omnidirectional Headset Microphone has a non-locking 3.5mm connector for wireless transmitters like the RODE Wireless GO II or DJI Mic. As a compatible option for Sennheiser wireless transmitters, you can use the Polsen ESM-2-35H Dual-Sided Earset Microphone (B&H # POESM235H), which is close in price and has the locking 3.5mm TRS connector.

Q: 6. Is this receiver rack mountable?

A: The Sennheiser XSW 2 Wireless Combo System with Handheld Mic & Senal Earset Mic (A: 548 to 572 MHz), BH # SEXSW2835AX (B&H Kit), is rack mountable (1/2 rack space) via the included rack mount kit.

Q: 7. Can I get this in the G frequency Range or another Range?

A: No. As a US dealer, B&H offers the components in the Sennheiser XSW 2 Wireless Combo System with Handheld Mic & Senal Earset Mic for frequency range A (548 to 572 MHz) which is the only frequency band offered for the XS Wireless Series systems to use in North America. All of the frequency bands for Sennheiser's XS Wireless Series systems differ from the frequency bands used for the Evolution Wireless Series and the components from these two series do not work together. For example, frequency range A for the Evolution Wireless Series system is 516 to 558 MHz, which is different from the A range for the XS Wireless series. There is no frequency range G for the XS Wireless Series and the other ranges that Sennheiser offers for the XS systems are only for use in different countries. Each of the other frequency ranges for the XS Wireless Series are only sold in the countries where they can be used.

Q: 8. Does this mic require phantom power?

A: It is not a dynamic mic. It is an electret condensor needs a small voltage. When used with a wireless transmitter they provide the small electrical booster needed to power the mic. If you want to use it with a mixer that has xlr jacks you need to turn in phantom power and use an adapter such as the Ride VXLR Pro that can take in 48v phantom power from the mixer and deliver the smaller voltage needed by the mic.

Q: 9. This says it's IOS compatible. What IOS system must be running? Will it work with a iPhone6 plus? Also, if I am shooting video with my mobile device, can I use the mic set up for the audio on the video while shooting the video at the same time I have the audio rig set up to that same device ? I'm trying to shoot video with my device but get better quality audio then my iPhone has to offer.

A: I wasn't able to find where it said iOS compatible on this page, but maybe I'm missing it. If it does say that, it's not exactly correct. But if the question is, Can you connect it to a smartphone to record audio while shooting video, the answer is yes. You will need to get our HX-Mi adapter cable or some equivalent so you can plug into the phone's headphone jack and connect to the microphone input. This will work with just about any android or iOS mobile device (including iPhone 6 Plus) as long as it has a TRRS headphone input (which most phones do). Bear in mind this product is just a wireless receiver. We sell this in complete kits as well. You'll want to check out the WLX-PRO+i and WMS-PRO+i which are full systems that come with the required adapter cable for mobile devices.

Q: 10. What bodypack systems is the 3.5 mm ts compatible with?

A: The Pyle Pro PMHM2 Omnidirectional Headset Microphone can be used with any wireless bodypack transmitter that has a standard non-locking 3.5mm mic input such as the RODE Wireless GO II Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System/Recorder, the DJI Mic Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System/Recorder, the Saramonic Blink 500 Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Microphone System, and the Synco WAir Ultracompact Digital Wireless Microphone System, to name just a few. The PMHM2 can also be used with other devices that have a 3.5mm mic input including audio recorders, tablets, and computers.

[Brown] The lavalier mic that came with the Azden Pro Video Mic System was an Omni and it picked up sound from all directions. Now there is a uni mic that excludes unwanted side and back noise.

[Brown] I bought this transmitter to replace one I lost many years ago. It is works like it always did even with the older receiver. A good fit for my Panasonic TM900. This little set up is right for the price. You can spend a lot more for the same results as the Azden. I don't know what took me so long to replace it.
