Its unidirectional pickup pattern provides smooth and even sounding audio, and its built-in shockmount helps you avoid recording unwanted vibration and handling noise. Not only is this microphone ultracompact and lightweight, it also never needs batteries or charging.

This mic is easy to use: plug it into your equipment, and it's good to go. A built-in swivel allows you to point it at the sound you want to capture.

In addition to its uses with Saramonic gear and compatible cameras, the SR-XM1 can also connect to microphone inputs on a wide variety of equipment. You can attach it to portable audio recorders, mixers, and it can even be used as a high-quality microphone for the GoPro Hero5, Hero5 Session, Hero6, and Hero7 action cameras when you use it with the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter (available separately).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I want to be able to conduct a traditional two person interview, but have the audio recorded on separate tracks/ channels. With that being said. would this work well with the Saramonic Blink 500 B2 2-Person Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System?

A: Since the Blink 500 B2 sums the 2 mics into a dual mono mix, adding a SR-AX100 will not split it for you. You could purchase 2x Blink 500 B1 systems and the SR-AX100 and get each person on seperate tracks. You could even do that with a simple wire adapter instead of the SR-AX100, but the SR-AX100 will give you individual level control. If you already own the Blink 500 B2, you can add a Blink 500 RX to the system and get the same result. I hope that helps and isn't too confusing.

Q: 2. Does this work with the Rode VideoMic GO Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone?

A: This will not work with mics that require plug-in power such as the VideoMic Go. A mic with a battery power option would be recommended, such as the Rode VideoMic B&H # ROVMR.

Q: 3. Will The saramonic xm1 Windproof fit My saramonic blink500 b6 mic?

A: No, the Saramonic XM1-WS Furry Windscreen is only meant to work with the SmartMic and SR-XM1 microphones.

Q: 4. Can this work on a canon Camcorder?

A: This will work with any camera with a 3.5mm microphone input. I cannot answer your question for your camera exactly because you did not include the model.

Q: 5. Is this identical with with Kopul CMX-2 Two-Channel Passive Camcorder XLR Adapter? https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1116259-REG/kopul_cmx_2_2_channel_pasive_camcorder.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1116259-REG/kopul_cmx_2_2_channel_pasive_camcorder.html/a

A: The Saramonic SR-AX101 is identical in features to the Kopul CMX-2 XLR adapter.

Q: 6. Would this mic work with a computer - like a MacBook? I need a mic for Zooming.

A: No, it will not. But the Saramonic SmartMic will work for MacBooks when plugged into the headphone port: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1282307-REG/saramonic_smartmic_flexible_microphone_for_iphone.html

Q: 7. Will this work with a Sony WH-XB900N headphone? Or an Android phone with a headphone jack?

A: No. This microphone is designed to be used with a DSR or camcorder with a 3.5mm microphone input jack.

Q: 8. Does this come with a stereo mini cable?

A: The Saramonic SR-AX101 does include a stereo mini cable.

Q: 9. Can I plug a stereo plug into the mono input? I have two Saramonic UwMic9s receivers, and want to connect one to each of the mono inputs.

A: As the Saramonic UwMic9s is outputting a true stereo signal, and the L/R inputs on the Saramonic SR-AX100 Passive 2-Channel Audio Adapter for DSLR Cameras are mono, there is a strong chance that each mono input of the SR-AX100 will only pass one side of the signal received by the UwMic9s through the device to the camera, eliminating one of the transmitter signals at this stage.

Q: 10. How would this work with the Comica Audio BoomX-D D2 being that it seperates the audio to left and right anyway?

A: If you wanted separate level control over the left and right out of the Boom XD, you would set the receiver to stereo out and plug it into the stereo input of this mixer. Then you could use the separate volume controls to adjust each level individually.

[Solid-State] For the price of this unit it's pretty amazing. Decent sound and a step up on audio quality when comparing it to my GoPro Hero 5/6 Black.

[Plug-In Power] This mic is an excellent choice for GoPro or mirrorless camera users who want an external mic that won’t block a selfie screen. Since it doesn’t require a hot shoe, it’s good for a Sony a6400 or a Sony RX100 vii, for example. Even though it’s called “omnidirectional,” it’s actually a directional mic that can be swiveled forward or backward. I haven’t tried it outdoors but I assume if you put a small “dead cat” over it, it would perform quite well outside. Nice accessory for 25 bucks.

[Plug-In Power] This turned out to be a great solution to a problem I had when needing to gather audio from further distances. I shoot for a newspaper and using my small Sony recorder with built in mic has been fine when gathering names and caption info. But shooting something like a ceremony where the audio is far away and coming from a specific direction was a problem since I needed both hands on the camera, which meant my recorder was in my pocket. Even if it was around my neck, the mic would be aiming straight at the ground. Now I can place the recorder in a shirt or jacket breast pocket and have the little mice sticking out and aimed directly at the audio source. So I can now just shoot away and all relevant names and pieces of info will be synced with my shots. Make sure to get the furry windscreen with it though. I didn’t use any windscreen the first time and some light breezes cut out the audio entirely. I hear the fury windscreen eliminates this issue entirely. My only real complaint is the way the mic is attached to the swivel section. It has an anti-vibration rubber linkage which seems like it could break easily when being moved around in pocket or put into a camera bag. I now just store the mic in a tiny case I had from something else and attach when needed.

[Plug-In Power] I have been struggling to record two audio and was looking for a solution that is not cumbersome and this comes in handy. The casing is made of metal making is strong. i like the control knob and they are not smooth but have a clicking feel while boosting the audio level. another thing is that it was able to give me two channels from my mono samson lavalier mic. I love it. the size is perfect and that price is also good. I don't think it will disappoint, but as usual time is the best measure of durability and performance. as of now am happy with it.

[Unidirectional] I purchased this because I saw it recommended as a good microphone choice for use with a GoPro. Only had a few times to use it so far - works good. However, I for sure need to get a wind screen for outside use.

[Solid-State] This
thing is amazing! Dont need any of the expensive mic's, this one does
an awesome job indoors, about 4ft from the GoPro and its recording me
loud and clear! If you are doing selfies with your GoPro or Vlogging,
then this is wicked, its tiny, so its descete too, and you can just flip
it round in a second.
