Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Thanks for answering previous question. At Azden I see Azden EX-503 | Azden EX-503L | Azden EX-503H. I dint understand the potential difference among them in terms of sound quality. How to choose among these three.I want you use it for interview and documentary work with zoom H1, which one should i look for? How is the ambient sound cancellation?

A: My 14 yo has been using this item for interviews and is very happy. He has used it for school, small buisness, and religious events. There is some ambient noise when background noise is high but for routine interviews and recording speeches it works well. Value for cost is good.

Q: 2. How long is the cord?

A: The EX503L features a 1.3 meter cable (4.26 feet).

Q: 3. Is this compatible with SONY WRT820A transmitter?

A: We would not recommend using a microphone that does not specifically say that it is wired for Sony mics. Sony has their own proprietary pin configuration. This mic, however is wired for a Sony 4-pin hirose transmitter. B&H # SOECM44BC.

Q: 4. I have Sony's ECM-AW4 Wireless Microphone. Will this mic work with this system?

A: The ECM-AW4 does not seem to have a 3.5mm microphone input, which it would need in order to use our EX-503 lav mic. Consult your manual or contact Sony to be sure.

Q: 5. How is this powered? No battery?

A: whatever you stick it into; powers it.

Q: 6. Is ex503h mic compatible with sony WRT820A?

A: I am afraid not. The Azden employs a 4-pin mini Hirose Your bodypack uses SONY's proprietary SMC9-4P connector. The pin-assignment may be different:Pin 1: +5 voltsPin 2: HotPin 3: ColdPin 4: Ground

Q: 7. is there an adapter to plug a Sennheiser over the ear mic to a Shure transmitter?

A: We do not have an adapter to convert this microphone for use with a Shure transmitter, but we do have the same microphone available with a TA4F connector that is wired for use with a Shure transmitter (B&H # PYPMEMS13).

Q: 8. I see this is the 503L - what is the difference from the 503?

A: Pretty sure the 503L screws down onto the transmitter so it won't come unplugged, the 503 just plugs in but doesn't lock down.

Q: 9. Will it work with a Sony Wireless system?

A: The Pyle Pro PMEMSN12 is wired for Sennheiser Wireless Systems and will not work with a Sony system unless it is rewired for compatibility.

Q: 10. Will this mic work with the packs for Pyle PDWM8900?

A: The cable connector is not compatible with the Pyle PDWM8900.
