The standalone Redrock Micro Halo Solo Complete Bundleis the heart of a control system that, with optional motors and cables, works as a mini FIZ (focus, iris, zoom) control unit. The two dampened finger wheels and joystick are dedicated lag-free finger controls for each individual channel (focus, iris, zoom). The Navigator also features a scroll wheel, an OLED screen and onboard LEDs for status display, as well as three function buttons. Please note, the Navigator does not include lens motors, motor cables, or camera control cables which must be sourced separately.

The Navigator powers from readily available LP-E6 batteries via its built-in battery plate. You can use cables to connect the Navigator to a camera or gimbals for wired control, or use the built-in wireless system that has a nearly one-mile range. In addition to the OLED display screen with live feedback of focus, iris, and zoom position, it also features LED indicators and haptic (vibrating) feedback. The MōVI Pro API mode enables you to interface the Navigator to your MōVI Pro.

A: Hi Homer - great question! you can use with pretty much any battery that delivers 12-18v power.if you have a Freefly gimbal you can use the lipo battery on that (you'll need an additional cable). if you have a ronin gimbal, you can use the onboard p-tap for powerif you have literally no other power supply and are looking for one, we typically use powerBase - this one is pretty great because it also provides power to your sony A7a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1077507-REG/switronix_pb70_a7s_powerbase_70_battery_for.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1077507-REG/switronix_pb70_a7s_powerbase_70_battery_for.html/ayou can also use camcorder batteries with built-in p-tap that are inexpensive, like this one a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/835236-REG/Ikan_IBS_U65_IBS_U65_BP_U_Ultra_High_Capacity.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/835236-REG/Ikan_IBS_U65_IBS_U65_BP_U_Ultra_High_Capacity.html/a hope that helps. [0.8 lb] This item was the missing piece to the puzzle. Using with a the Ronin system, this wireless focus system was very easy to use and great help for the camera team. The wireless function allowed the DP to follow the subject around while the AC was able to make sure the picture was in focus at all times. The motor is very smooth and quiet, also light and compact. Not many cables to use and has great wireless range from the remote! Definitely pleased with the product and results.

[0.8 lb] I've been using this wireless remote since the beginning and im here to tell you that it's one of the best wireless follow focus that just works! COMPLETELY WORKS!! Since my initial review of I have always been confident of this device and it's clearly a winner. When RedRock added the newest software improvements for the remote (Artistry) this device ROCKS!! You WONT BE DISSAPPOINTED!

[0.8 lb] I love my microRemote. I've had mine for over a year and I have not had any issues with it. I do mostly concert and event shooting. It gives me freedom of running around and focusing instantly on any situation/scene. With the finger wheel attached to my microhandgrip my hands never leave the rig. This bundle was a great start for me. Since most of my shooting is run and gun I did not need wireless control. If you are a run and gun shooter this is a great tool. Its been very reliable. The auto calibration is my favorite feature. I can switch lenses and let the unit calibrate and I'm good to go.

[0.8 lb] Redrocks microRemote is a solid, dependable unit backed by good support. I have had mine for four years. At one point, I accidentally damaged the antenna on the receiver and needed to replace it. Redrock sent me the parts either for free or for a very small charge. They have been very quick to respond to me when Ive had questions as well.

Redrock also updates the firmware periodically. The v4 update added remote calibration (so you can calibrate lenses from the remote instead of from the receiver). I cant count how many times Ive forgotten to calibrate after a lens swap and then walk away from the camera. Or if Im working with an AC, I often handle the motor gear setup and auto-calibrate for my AC. If I forget, now my AC can do it remotely. Great! The firmware is at v5 now, so that shows their commitment to providing product value.

The unit is solid and well built. Ive never had an issue with the power of the motor when using it with the Rokinon set or Canons CN-E series. The motor has a nice feathering to avoid hard focus stops. And you can crank the gain up or down.

Ive also never had a problem using it at a distance, but the remote is usually pretty close to the receiver in my setups.

The ability to switch directions from the receiver is great. I tend to use it backwards from how traditional ACs do, so this helps a lot.

Overall, this is an excellent product that I intend to keep using for years to come.

The only issue I have with the unit is that the battery plate requires a small philips head screwdriver to remove. This can slow things down during production, so I discarded the screws and used gaffers tape to keep the plate in place. Much faster!

[0.8 lb] This allowed us to have footage that complemented our projects to a higher level. This is build with intent for many years of hard use. Not a cheap plastic toy.

[0.8 lb] Kit came with everything I needed. Wireless Focus has great range, but more impressive is the fingerwheel to pull focus on your own!

Hard case to hold everything is a great plus, highly recommended!

[0.8 lb] What can I say? It does what it's supposed to do and does it well. If your lens has hard stops it calibrates itself in literal seconds. If not, it takes maybe a handful more seconds. Nice that it's wireless as well, where (in my case) I can run HDMI/SDI to an Odyssey 7Q+ that the focus puller can use as their monitor as it records, and I can use the on-board LCD for framing. Flex Cables take a HUGE beating and keep on running. I've accidently yanked the everliving... stuff... out of them connected to the PowerPack and not had any problems. Sturdy little motor/system.

[0.8 lb] This follow focus system is extremely simple to use. All you need is 2 AA batteries in the remote, and a power source for the basestation. We use this system on our RED Helium, and plug the basestation power cable into a v-mount battery on the back of the camera via the included D-tap cable. Once you connect the motor to a rail and plug it into the basestation, boom, it is up and running. Very reliable.

[0.8 lb] Very easy on the pocket and has been great so far, using it with Canon CN-E primes. Redrock Micro also has great customer service.
