Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this work with the Atomos Shogun?

A: Hi Kevin - i see you've asked this in a couple different places. I recommend you contact us directly, as this cable has been tested only with the camera lanc. it's possible, but we'd have to test it. Thanks

Q: 2. Is the LEMO connector a 7-Pin?

A: Hi Spencer - i assume you mean the lemo side of the connector? it is three-pin that connects into the microRemote Basestation's aux port

Q: 3. How many stages does this version includes?

A: Hi Gustavo - this comes with 2 fully rotating stages, with 4x5.65 filter trays (also supports 4x4 filters with included filter mats). you can add stages in 1 stage increments as well. Hope that helps

Q: 4. The Deluxe bundle was supposed to come with the universal donut, yet mine did not. Anyone else get the donut package instead of the universal donut as advertised?

A: Mine came with the foam donut set, as well as a universal donut which looks more like a hood. It's a soft fabric with a draw string on one end. Perhaps it's there and you just expected it to look like something different?

Q: 5. How reliable is this? And can we map the focus throw to whatever degrees we want? i.e. a lens with a 240 degree throw we can map it to 90 degrees on the thumbwheel?

A: Very! And by that I am assuming you mean repeatable. It's also extremely solidly built, so it won't just break down into bits while you use it. Mine had a bit of motor jitter, which annoyed me. But Redrock support was extremely helpful and pointed out to me that you can in fact control the amount of torque on the motor so I managed to dial it down to a point where I am now extremely happy with the responsiveness.Regarding remapping the throw of your lens, it actually works the other way. No matter what the throw of your lens, the Scout will remap it to 270 degrees. It would have been cool if they allowed us some control on the remapped angle, but in practice I have seen it doesn't really matter, because most of the time you don't really rack focus from infinity to the minimum distance your lens supports. You only need half that ability in most cases, and even less if you are following some form of action, like a dance or a group of actors etc.

Q: 6. Hi all, and especially any Sony FS7 users: With the clamp-on option, would this be acceptable to clamp onto the bundled FS7 zoom lens, or too heavy for the lens mount or in the way of the viewfinder? Thanks!

A: I think it might be too heavy especially with two filters, I have a FS7 and I use this with the Zacuto VCT Universal base plate that has rails. I found the shoulder rest on the FS7 was not that great, also the baseplate works with my old sony quick release plate. Mounting the matte box to the rails is quick and easy.

Q: 7. The design by the photograph seems as if I would not be able to use the electronic viewfinder in conjunction with this cage. It seems to me that either the screw on top of the hot shoe or the rod holding the motor will poke you in the forehead if you try to put your eye to the electronic viewfinder. Is that true? Or am I just imagining it?

A: This will vary depending on the camera you use. However this product was designed with using the LCD Screen on a camera in mind more so than the viewfinder. It may not be as easy to get your eye up to the viewfinder as it normally would be with this cage.

Q: 8. I have been struggling using this on 6.5 rods, the mattebox does not slide freely down the rods, it stops at the end of the rods because the up and down adjustment does not go high enough. Does anyone have a solution to this, other than getting shorter rods?

A: I've had the same issue unfortunately, and my solution has been exactly that-- shorter rods, which is annoying to have to have different size rods depending on the lens being used.

Q: 9. Is this cable for connecting the Redrock Micro Navigator to the Movi Pro?

A: This cable Connects Redrock Satellite Universal Gimbal Controller to Freefly MoVI Pro.

Q: 10. I want to use this on the Dji Ronin M, What else do I need to buy to make this work? Just a Ptap Cable to power it from the Ronin M? I basically want to be able to be a single operator with the thumb controller. Where Can I find out what all I need to make this work. I live in South America and do not want to have to order some other part after the fact. Thanks for any information as I am looking for a solution for one man operation with a ronin m, a7sII an Loxia lens. I know I need the gear straps for the lens, but is there anything else I need? Extra plates, arms or anything for the ronin to get this set up and work, Plan on using a smallhd502 on the ronin handles. Thanks for any information.

A: Hi EricThere's a lot of ground to cover there. what I recommend is picking up the remote fingerwheel bundle without cables, and get the DJI specific cable pack:a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1140914-REG/redrock_micro_8_114_0011_microremote_handheld_fingerwheel_bndle.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1140914-REG/redrock_micro_8_114_0011_microremote_handheld_fingerwheel_bndle.html/aa href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1111304-REG/redrock_micro_8_100_0007_dji_ronin_microremote.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1111304-REG/redrock_micro_8_100_0007_dji_ronin_microremote.html/afor mounting the motor, you'll want the rhino mount, probably 4 a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1176779-REG/redrock_micro_2_167_0002_rhino_mount_shoe_mount_clamp.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1176779-REG/redrock_micro_2_167_0002_rhino_mount_shoe_mount_clamp.html/afor lens gears, you might be best to go with a kit that covers all possible lens sizes (though loxia are typically A or B sized lens gears)a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/748784-REG/Redrock_Micro_8_003_0107_microLensGears_Kit_4.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/748784-REG/Redrock_Micro_8_003_0107_microLensGears_Kit_4.html/aFor mounting the 502 monitor, you can look at the billie ball mount as a low profile ball mount that attaches to the DJI accessory platea href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/970766-REG/redrock_micro_2_138_0001_billie_ball_mount.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/970766-REG/redrock_micro_2_138_0001_billie_ball_mount.html/ahope that helps

[4" / 10.2 cm] Love it. I just got it, but I know it's going to save the day in many ways for a long time. So far I've used it for external audio and a monitor. The best part is that you can flip the female/male insert to your liking. This helps to avoid items bumping into one another.

[2 oz / 56.7 g] Purchased to mount a 7 LCD monitor and 11 tension arm to my camera rig, this microMount holds on tight! There are some very inexpensive alternatives out there, but I have tried them and they simply do not hold on. The design makes it versatile and easy to configure, and the reversible male/female mounting post is a nice touch. Spend the extra money and get the microMount. The cheap mounts are just that: cheap.

[4" / 10.2 cm] Albeit pricey, the micromount works perfectly. I use one on my shoulder mount for a monitor and it is great. The ability to adjust on two axis is a must and the ability to remove the threaded plug makes for quick and easy changes to equipment.
