The black PSI Audio Sub A225-M is a powered subwoofer designed to seamlessly extend the bandwidth of all PSI Audio's studio monitors. The 300W Class-G amplifier powers the two 10.2" woofers to provide a frequency response of 24 to 100 Hz at an SPL of 116 dB (half space).

The double-box MDF enclosure offers a built-in anti-resonance system, while the amplifier unit is acoustically uncoupled to provide uncolored performance without artifacts. The rear panel offers two XLR inputs and outputs for working with satellite speakers and is well suited for stereo and multi-channel (surround) monitoring. The level / input sensitivity control helps audio input signal calibration, while the "Roll-Off" control aligns the low frequency response to room conditions. The PSI Audio Sub A125-M includes a power cord, anti-slippage stickers, and an individual frequency response diagram.

Q: 10. How do you guys have this paired with your 305's? Is there anyway to use the 305's and the sub with the MONICON controller? Are you using XLR or 1/4 in?

A: Just get the two xlr out from you audio interface to the 310s and from there to the 305. The 310s already have the crossover.

[1.5%] Bought this for my small home music studio and I couldn’t be happier. I went from an 8” sub that at the time I felt did the job to this beast and there’s no comparison, It’s night and day. I also use my set up for everyday music listening and it’s made that even more enjoyable. This sub is huge! Much larger then I anticipated. It hits really hard for hip hop BUT I’m someone who loves bass in classic rock and I love how this sub compliments rock music. I can’t compare it to pricier subs since I’ve never been in a position to hear one but what I can say is that this one for its price is worth every penny. Very impressed. 5

[Single Monitor] I bought a pair of these in 2014 and have used them every day for over 8 years. They are accurate and translate well. I supplement mine with a sub for some extended low end. I am thankful companies like PSI exist and make products at this level of quality. 5

[Single Monitor] It took me a few minutes to dial in the JBL, but once I figured that out it sounds smooth and complimented my setup perfectly. I'm not sure why anyone in a studio setting would want to use anything but the 80hz crossover. It had PLENTY of power, in fact, it's set to about 40 percent power to balance out with my studio monitors. Folks that say it doesn't have enough power need to turn down the gain of their monitors. The whole idea of a studio sub is not to blow you away (which this can certainly do) but rather to compliment (extend the frequency range of) the monitors. It does this very well. If you don't use this balance, your mixes will not be accurate may result in them being low-frequency deprived. I can easily switch between sub + crossovered monitors to monitors with no crossover with my Mackie 1642VLZ4 mixer. I just use a subgroup output to isolate my monitors without the sub. What makes this possible is that the HS8 monitors have 2 inputs, so your miles may vary. When dialing your sub in, remember that less is more. I've found this to be true in just about every facet of life. Happy Mixing. 5

[116 dBA] Unpacked and connected, didn't have to adjust anything. Plugged my studio monitors to the outputs of the sub, then monitoring system out to the sub inputs, hit play and go. Sub has a higher wattage than most, higher price, but I waited until it was on sale. I did consider other active subwoofers, but this one has a larger woofer, and flexible in's and out's, and is tuned to match my JBL 5" studio nearfields. Great item!! 5

[1.5%] Going to the PSI Audio is an upgrade from the Adam A7Xs Id been using for 5 years. While Id say the Adams are 95% of the way to unadulterated flat audio the PSIs bring it up to 98%. For some that small difference might not be worth the large difference in price. All depends on your resources and how you choose to use them. For me monitors and sound treatment are of upmost importance to the realization of my productions. They are the window from which I view sound and a foggy window, or a small window, will impede the seeing of what is there. The PSIs offer a remarkably clean and balanced 3 dimensional imaging. Ive noticed little ear fatigue, even after many hours, unlike the Adams, which can tend to sound brittle after some hours of listening. I use the PSIs as near-fields and find them actually well suited to a 3 distance I normally work at (even though they are recommended for a further distance). With the Adams I employed a sub (either a Genelec or the Adam Sub8). With the PSIs I dont feel the need for a sub. 5

[116 dB] I bought this subwoofer from B&H on sale for $300 when originally its $500. I did research on it and when I used it, it works exactly as advertised. I am satisfied with this product and the way B&H works. No issue at all and use this subwoofer in all my sessions from recording vocals to making beats. 5
