Q: 7. I try to get my head around the comparison of a traditional studio flash setup and a LED setup. My personal example: I shoot family portraits in a studio. Use a standard light setup with a Broncolor Pulso 3200 WS with 3 heads , 1 big 3 ft soft-box , 1 beauty-dish and 1 reflector with grid. In general ISO 200 - 400 and Apertures 2 - 8 with my Fujifilm X-H1. Off course the Broncolor handles that with room to spare. How would this setup work-out with the Genaray Endeavor and/or the Powerhouse ? Can I work with similar camera settings with an acceptable shutter-speed ? Say 1/30 sec ?

[48 VDC] We're producing a documentary series and need the speed and portability of LED with the punch of an HMI. The Twin Sun comes really close. It's roughly equivalent to a 1.6K, though with a wider spread than an HMI. Out of the box it was put to work for seven straight days of location shooting with a lot of repos. It's reliable, feels sturdy and tough, and can run off wall power or two V-mount batteries. It's dimmable and bi-color, so it's useful as a key for interviews or to light larger scenes. Pros, the Twin Sun's power let's us be completely LED and the battery power let's us be completely cordless. Con, and only one so far, is you'll need several batteries on hand; two batteries power it for a little over an hour.

[1.57 lb / 710 g] This has been a great addition to my kit. The light has a broad range of power, and I love that it is LED so I do not have to worry about the lights temperature. I love the easy to use gels it comes with and the collapsable barn doors. The carrying case it comes with makes it easy to store and transport as well. I am very happy with this product.

[1.57 lb / 710 g] I Love my Genaray Twin Sun. This light is too pretty to get damaged or scratched. The perfect case that fits the Twin Sun is the LUXLI TAIKO CASE, which I also own. I purchased another TAIKO case for storing the Genaray Twin Sun.

I also provided pictures for you to see, make sure you check them out here. The only thing is, the 5/8 receiver is a quarter inch too tall and this is NOT a problem! The LUXLI case will STILL accommodate the Twin Sun and CLOSE PROPERLY. The LUXLI case is a STEAL, super affordable, pretty, has extra dividers and pockets, all heavy duty.

[48 VDC] For a long time I’ve been searching for a Fresnel-style LED light that works for my specific needs. This light really does the trick.

It’s great for interviews in many respects. You can use it alongside the Bowen’s mount adapter with lots of light modifier options.

For instance: If you combine this LED with a soft box you can throw a great key light on a subject. It also works great as a hair light, but my favorite use for this light is to throw a splash light onto a background — separating and enhancing the foreground subjects and giving the image a nice texture.

The quality of light is really exquisite for an LED fresnel at this price. It offers an opportunity to shape the scene without spilling light where it doesn’t need to be.

The battery module is a bit clunky, but I mostly  use plug-in power and it’’s not really an issue.

One thing I wish this light had is a remote control. If you’re shooting an event — a wedding for instance — and these light are high up in the air on stands,  it’s not an easy task to lower the whole light just to tweak the color temperature or the  intensity  slightly.

BUT — at this price a person should not expect the unit to come with a remote anyway.

It’s really a great deal for an all-around workhorse light. I highly recommend it.

[IP64] Fortunately B&H did decide to let me return the Dracast light I purchased as it was seriously below par. This light was more cost but what a difference. Bright, neutral light, and so very soft.

[1.57 lb / 710 g] Excellent light, Well made, strong continuous lighting. Quiet fan that can be shut off for video. It has plenty of power. Heavy for transport and needs a solid case.

[IP64] I come from using speedlites for portability and wanted to add a constant light source to my kit. The contender fit the bill for me. Small, well constructed, and packaged in a nifty case for ease of said portability.

It's a breeze to use right out of the box. Flip it on and adjust output from 10% to 100%. Comes with a ballhead and gels and runs on battery or plug it in to a power source.

I used it for a spot of background light and also as a key light. Some pics are attached of both uses. Wanted to show set up but 2 image limit, so...

As a key light power was at 20%. It was placed camera right and a little behind the subject. You don't want someone looking directly into this thing. A reflector was just left of the subject for fill.

I'm looking forward to playing with gels and more dramatic use as a key light.

Very pleased so far...

[2.365 lb] I have a couple of different kinds of lights. Some of these LED panels run a little on the magenta side which can be great for warm looking shots but this light is nice and neutral and lots of power. Two of these fill up a 20x20 space with light. The fan has an off switch but I don't use it as it is pretty darn quiet. I wish there were reflector inserts for the barndoors but I guess I might have to build my own.
