The Cooke 75mm T2.2 Panchro/i Classic Prime Lens PL Mountcombines the warm look of a vintage Cooke Speed Panchro with the convenience of the i/Technology lens data capture system. This modern redesign works with both digital cinema and film cameras, features focus scales marked in feet, and covers image formats up to full frame. One of several focal lengths available, the 75mm prime incorporates a nine-blade iris for cinematic bokeh. For optimal performance, aberration, flare, and distortion-correction extends over the entire image area and throughout the 75mm's T2.2-22 aperture range. The Panchro/i Classic Primes are color-matched with Cooke's S4/i, 5/i, mini S4/i, and Anamorphic/i lenses.

Each Panchro/i Classic Prime lens sports both a hardened PL mount and a cable connection that use Cooke's /i Technology to transmit lens data including focal length, aperture, focus, and depth-of-field to compatible cameras. The 75mm Panchro/i Classic Prime Lens features a 23.3" minimum focus distance, a relatively light weight of 4 pounds, and a compact length of 6.1". This lens is constructed with 0.8-mod geared focus and iris rings for use with follow focus, zoom control, and wireless F/I/Z systems. A large lens barrel, an increased number of focus marks, and Cooke's cam-style focus movement enable precise focus pulls.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with a Metabones 0.64 speedbooster on Blackmagic 4K?

A: The Metabones 0.64 adapter will work with full frame lenses as well as APS-C lenses like the Meike 25mm T2.1 Super35 Prime Cine Lens. You may use APS-C lenses, but you can only shoot exclusively in 4K.

Q: 2. How much does the lens itself weight? The specs only list package weight

A: The PL version weighs 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb.

Q: 3. What is the actual weight of the lens?

A: The lens weighs 3.1lbs.

Q: 4. Does the lens data contain lens distortion information?

A: The Cooke 21mm T2.2 Panchro/i Classic Prime Lens uses /i Technology which is a metadata protocol that enables film and digital cameras to automatically record key lens data for every frame shot. /i Technology data includes focal length, focus distance, zoom position, near and far focus, hyper focal distance, T-stop, horizontal field of view, entrance pupil position, distortion and shading data.

Q: 5. Will this fit in the empty slot of the 5-lens hard case?

A: Of the two cases available for the NiSi ATHENA Cinema Lenses, the NiSi Hard Case for Set of 9 ATHENA Cinema Lenses fits the NiSi ATHENA PRIME 135mm T2.2 Full-Frame Lens (ARRI PL).

Q: 6. Can any of the Leitz Cine Lens mount, without an adapter, to the Leica SL or Leica S still cameras? If not natively, is there an adapter that will allow this.... and with the adapter attached, will it provide full autofocus?

A: To use a PL lens on a camera with a Leica L mount you will need a PL to L Mount Adapter, such as BH #NOLETPL from Novoflex. PL lenses in general are fully manual lenses, there is no auto focus on lenses like this. https://bhpho.to/2Opnqjl

Q: 7. Is there a photo version? Sigma Art 65mm EF? With AF etc

A: There is no photography version in EF mount of the Sigma 65mm ART lens.

Q: 8. Will this fit and work properly on the Sony PXW-FS5 MK2?

A: With the proper EF to E mount adapter, the Meike 100mm T2.1 Super35 Cinema Prime Lens (EF Mount) would work well on the Sony PXW-FS5 XDCAM Super 35 Camera System.

Q: 9. What’s the magnification factor on the macro?

A: Cooke says the magnification of the Cooke 85mm T2.8 Anamorphic/i 1.8x Full Frame SF Macro Prime Lens 1:4.

Q: 10. Does this lens is compatible with Fotodiox Pro Adapter on a BlackMagic?

A: Yes, the Rokinon Xeen 135mm T2.2 Lens with PL Mount is compatible with the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter ARRI PL to MFT.

[T2.2] I bought this on the recommendation of a friend who consults for many of the most well-known lens manufacturers (think of the names you know). While it's not anamorphic, it is a beautiful, well-behaved, full-frame lens, and a welcome addition to the lens locker. Crisp, without being clinical, and having a gorgeous vintage vibe from the lens coatings. I'll echo what others have said regarding the close proximity of the aperture ring to the lens mount, but other than that, I've really enjoyed it, so far.

[5.28 lb] B & H delivered my Meike lens on time and in excellent condition. The packaging was great and the lens is perfect. Couldn't be happier!

[5.28 lb] Excellent quality feel and the sharpness is outstanding. Works well with the Small Rig Mini Matte Box system and Follow Focus. The price is a plus too..

[T2.2] My second Meike MFT lens, possibly even better than the first. Nice solid lens. Bokeh is smooth, but unobtrusive, as seen in the two photos from a Panasonic GH5S, one with focus point @ 2.5 meters, the other at 5 meters. Focus scales seem to be more accurate than the Zeiss CP 2 prime I've had for years.

[105 mm] I seriously LOVE what these lenses do as an intro set of Cine glass. As a long time Sigma Art series user I didn't realize how much of an upgrade this was going to be from Photo glass. I'm super happy with the money i spent on this and also the 35mm. I will be getting the 24mm and 85mm ASAP!

[ARRI PL] This is a really well constructed lens. It feels like it's worth every penny. The optics are crystal clear, no distortion of any kind that I can detect. The giant focus ring turns and turns - very nice for pulling focus. On the downside, at longer distances with the aperature wide open, the depth of field is razor thin, and the focus ring has increasingly less travel between steps at further distances. I realize this is physics, but I was personally surprised by how touchy focus is at 40-50' in lower light situations.

[T2.2] The Rokinon/Samyang cine lenses in this price range are basically their photo lenses with cine gears. Nice for starters--I have two of them--but these Meikes are bonafide cine lenses and not much more money. Main differences are less focus breathing and longer focus ring throw. Much easier to nail focus pulls.
