Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is everyone using this at the standard ISO or are you pushing or pulling it? Is so what are the effects?

A: Ilford SFX 200 Black and White Negative Film (120 Roll Film) can be push-processed to ISO 400 or ISO 800. Ilford suggest using ILFOTEC DD-X or MICROPHEN (stock) developer when push-processing.

Q: 2. How many exposures does this film have?

A: The amount of exposures on this Ilford Delta 400 120 film depends on the medium format camera it is used with. For example, using this on a Hasselblad 501CM which shoots in 6 x 6 cm format, you can get 12 exposures from this roll.

Q: 3. Im learning to develop B&W negatives on my own. Since this is a chromogenic film, can this film be developed in the standard B&W developing process or would this require a different process?

A: I would not try to personally develop this film. There are professional labs that still develop it in c-41 chemistry. I only work in 120 film and it is my film of choice if I want to make HUGE enlargements in B&W. It has a wide latitude and is extremely sharp. T. Nell (marina my wife, placed the order)

Q: 4. How many rolls of film are in a brick of Ilford XP2 Super 400 120B&W? Is there any discount for quantity? Thanks!

A: With this type of film, we purchase it in gross bulk from the manufacturer and sell it per roll. We do not have any brick packs that we sell in this particular instance. Our film is already discounted to the lowest possible price we can offer it to you at regardless of the quantity you purchase.

Q: 5. manufacturing date ?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 6. Can I use this for my argus super 75 camera? A blog said j could and I'd like to make sure.

A: Hello! I'm not sure if this will help you. But I have a Holga, and I think the principle will be similar. I've only shot 120 film in my Holga though. I think that is the ideal film format for your Argus Super 75. If you want to run 35mm film though instead, because it's narrower, you should put some sort of buffer on the outer edges, so that the film tracks straight. Otherwise it might track up and down the wider spool, and photos might be less predictable? As far as what that buffer is, you may need to be creative. You could try stacking some rubber washers, you'll likely need to cut one end of the circle to get them around the core of spools. I hope that helps! I'm sorry, I'm no expert on your camera, but I think this should be pretty accurate! Good luck!

Q: 7. is it 35mm film ?

A: No, this is the 120/medium format version of Ilfordd FP4. You can find the 35mm version here:https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?N=10024661&InitialSearch=yes&sts=suggestions-pi&typedValue=ilford+fp target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?N=10024661&InitialSearch=yes&sts=suggestions-pi&typedValue=ilford+fp/a

Q: 8. How to I determine the exposure time?

A: There are several ways to determine the correct exposure. Obviously using a light meter is a good start. It could be a basic hand held incident meter, reflected light meter or even an app on a smart phone. One can also use sunny 16 to determine an approximate exposure. I've also used a digital camera to do a test shot and figure up settings from there. Hope that helps.

Q: 9. Are 100 films separated by 25 films?

A: Yes, 4 packs of 25.

Q: 10. Is there a risk of X-Ray damage when shipping Delta 3200 overseas?

A: Hi, to answer your question, I would say yes. Any film rated higher than 400iso/asa is going to be subject to film fogging or color shift from X-ray. Many airlines and companies tell you that x-ray does not destroy or degrade your film but this is a complete lie. I use film exclusively and have traveled through many countries and can tell you first hand even at iso100 there is a risk of degradation. I always carry a lead bag that I store my film in if needing to pass through x ray, and always ask that the film be hand checked. They have swabs that can detect any traces of whatever it is they may be looking for without opening your film. I am not sure where overseas you are but in Europe ILFORD is the leading film distributor and in many places such as Central and South America, and parts of Africa, if you are in the main hubs such as the main developed cities they will most often have a film store you can get your hands on this film.

[125] My favorite film for decades. Wonderful tonality, low grain, forgiving exposure latitude. It's in all my film cameras I use for black and white. Buy some.

[110.0 µm] FP4+ is a great choice for a slower black and white film. It's such a sharp and contrasty film without having super dark blacks or dark / muddy shadows. I'm pretty just it's just Ilford who offers at 125 speed. I also must say that Ilford's quality control is much better these days than Kodak's.

[Acetate] FP4 is up there with HP5 as my favorite B&W films, especially in 120. It offers a lot more contrast up front than HP5 does, while still having great tonality and nice grain. Some of my favorite images have come from this film without much modification. I really like this film on a bright day, has a really great ambiance.

[1] Ilford FP4+125 is an excellent film, particularly when developed with Caffenol CL/CS for 65 minutes!
