Q: 1. Can you recommend a good video on how to use the menu on the DMON-QUAD without hooking it up to a computer?

A: Unfortunately, there is no comprehensive video online of the DECIMATOR DMON-QUAD 4-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer walk-through about the menu adjustment via the device itself. The manual explains the various functions and can be viewed here, https://bit.ly/36Ri3Vr

Q: 2. Can this replace my MD-HX convert SDI camera input, flip image horizontally and output 1080 HDMI to Atem switcher?

A: The DECIMATOR DMON-QUAD 4-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer is a multi-viewer and cannot replace the Decimator MD-HX. They are very different tools.

Q: 3. Can I output the camera shot(s) from the HDMI out (or SDI out) from the DECIMATOR DMON-QUAD to Zoom, via a Macbook Air with USB3 ports (with an HDMI to USB3 connector) or via a MacBook Pro M1 (with an HDMI to USB-C connector)? Or do I need some other device (like a Magewell USB Capture SDI Plus, One-Channel 2K Capture Device) to send the camera image(s) to zoom?

A: To have the HDMI or the 3G-SDI multiview output on the DECIMATOR DMON-QUAD 4-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer captured into a computer, one must use an HDMI or 3G-SDI to USB capture device. See capture device example below: https://bhpho.to/34DuVNB

Q: 4. Can this card be used for seamless operation as a live camera when using Zoom, Skype, Cisco Webex, etc? I've got the Blackmagic Decklink but some programs don't recognize the card - can get video and no audio or it works fine. I'm looking for a card that can reliably work with the live networks. Many thanks everyone!

A: Magewell lists this card as compatible with both Zoom and Skype. They do not list WebEx though.

Q: 5. I have an LG Oled TV 83' which I play video games like Minecraft with my kids 6-8-10 yrs in Split Screen mode. Many other great games are single player like Zelda Breath of the wild. I don't want my kids playing in separate rooms, instead I want them to play together. I need Quad 4K Multiviewer PIP who can handle 4x inputs 1080p (4x PS4 or Wii U consoles) and display 1x output 4K I need a very fast Quad Multiviewer who can handle gaming, with latency or display lag no higher than 20 ms. My TV has around 10 ms display lag but none of the multiviewer sellers give information about the display lag or latency. I'm simply looking for a split screen technology which allows the kids to play together on the same screen instead of being alone in their rooms which I find being more lonly than couch co-op. All answers are highly appreciated and welcome.

A: The Ocean Matrix HDMI 4 x 1 1080p Multiviewer with PIP & IR Control would work as a viable option to merge up to HDMI 4 devices and give an opportunity to have your children work on the same television. https://bhpho.to/3JclDHv

Q: 6. Does anyone know if this device will de-embed audio when using this as a SDI to HDMI converter? I know there are smaller/cheaper products that do this but I like the versatility of having a multiviewer as well.

A: Hi Andrew, This is Jules from product support at Symbiosis, Decimator's master distributor for your region. The DMON-Quad will pass embedded audio from any of the four inputs to both SDI and HDMI outputs. When in multi-viewer mode, you can select which input's audio is passed to the outputs. When viewing an input as full-screen the audio from that input is passed. It does not have a separate audio only output. I hope this helps but if you need more information please feel free to contact us on support@symbiosis.com. Kind regards Jules

Q: 7. Does this card output video also?

A: It does not. This is a capture card only, it is not for playback.

Q: 8. Why does the photo a show 3-pin to 3-pin XLR cable?

A: Thank you for spotting this error. We will update this image shortly.

Q: 9. can I capture 4 hd signals and reproduce all 4 signals at the same time in a 4k multfield?

A: Yes, you can captures 4 HD signals with the Magewell Pro Capture Quad SDI Card and reproduce all 4 signals at the same time in the multi view window of the capture or streaming software you are using.

Q: 10. can you run 4 instances of the magewell capture express to capture 4 different video feeds with their imbedded audio signal to create 4 video files..ie 4 different languages + same video.?

A: Yes, but the capture express encoding engine is fairly cpu intensive plus the preview may lag the machine. It didn't work that well with a 16core/32thread machine.
