Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this focus to infinity with a Nikon Z body?

A: Yes, the Cambo ACTUS-G View Camera Body with 15mm Lens Kit for Nikon Z will focus to infinity on Nikon Z mount cameras.

Q: 2. What do I need to purchase additionally for a Z9, and what would I need to place it on my Manfrotto 410 tripod head?

A: To attach the Nikon Z9 body to the back of the Cambo ACTUS-G View Camera Body (Black) you need this mount, BH #CABHACTUSG (https://bhpho.to/2qkgl6o). It does not come with a front lens mount. These are the ones made for it; BH #CALP0HB, BH #CALP1HB or BH #CALPM39TB. And the camera should work fine with the Manfrotto 410 tripod head plate.

Q: 3. What’s the difference between Actus-B and Actus-G?

A: The both versions can be used with a DSLR or Mirrorless camera but the G version can also be used with a digital back.

Q: 4. Does it come with a bellow? I guess so but don’t see it in the picture. How big is the bellow? Is it compatible with Schneider 72mm/5.6 XL which has a 72mm size to the camera side?

A: The Actus-G body comes with a standard monorail and bellows which is 155mm. So that being said the 72mm lens should work. However please be aware that the Actus-G doesn't come with a camera bayonet mount, so that will need to be added. Depending on which camera you choose you may run into issues with infinity focus as well. Please see the lens compatibility chart at our website for more info.

Q: 5. Is there a lensplate option for using Contax 645 lenses?

A: Unfortunately no, the Cambo ACTUS-MV View Camera Body has no options for use with a Contax 645 camera and lens.

Q: 6. What's the smallest these bellows can compress? I'm curious if I can achieve infinity focus with them.

A: If the Cambo AC-214 Long Bellows for ACTUS is fully compressed, it will create a space of 20mm between the lens and the camera.

Q: 7. What basic accessories is required for a Nikon D810?

A: One would need the following pieces to mount the Nikon D810 DSLR Camera to the Cambo ACTUS-G View Camera Body. The Cambo AC-78E Bayonet Holder, BH #CAOBHDSLR (https://bhpho.to/3bHOVlW). And the Cambo AC-783 ACTUS Bayonet Kit for Nikon F Mount Body, BH #CABKNF (https://bhpho.to/3bzle6k). These 2 pieces would allow one to mount the camera on the ACTUS-G. This is only on the camera side, on the lens side it will vary based on what lens you wish to use.

Q: 8. Will the DB2 work with a SINAR S30|45 back?

A: No, The DB2 does not interface with the S30|45 back.

Q: 9. What’s the difference between the Actus G system and the Actus MV for use with a Fuji GFX 100 II?

A: The Cambo ACTUS-G View Camera Body with AC-792 Bayonet Holder for FUJIFILM G is very good. The difference between that and the Cambo ACTUS-MV View Camera Body with AC-214 Bellows and ACMV-862 Mount Kit, B&H #CAACMVF50K, is that the MV has almost double the movement capability in any direction.

Q: 10. Is it compatible with Tilta Pocket Follow Focus?

A: Yes, the SmallRig Focus Whip is compatible with the Tilta Pocket Follow Focus.

[0.8 lb] For the price, this is probably the best focus pulling whip that B&H offers. Very sturdy, and durable build. Only con is maybe the plastic wheel part at the end (everything else is metal, or the heavy duty rubber tube), but even that seems pretty sturdy.

[0.8 lb] I fiddled with tilt shift lenses for some time and was never completely happy with their performance. The Cambo Actus-G (BH# CAAGCBBK) is a much more flexible solution and is only a bit more expensive than some of the tilt-shift lenses. Of course you do need to buy a suitable lens with a large image circle. I'm using this with a Nikon F mount camera and a Mamiya RZ lens adapter. I already had the Mamiya lenses so it was a no brainer. It did take a bit of time to figure out exactly what other items were needed but essentially You'll need 3 other pieces besides the body. The lens plate. I suggest a medium format lens like the Mamiya RB/RZ lenses. BH# CALPMRBRZB, The camera bayonet holder (Cambo AC-78E) BH# CAOBHDSLR and the camera bayonet plate BH# CABKNF. This is a very flexible system and using the bayonet holder (AC-78E) you can get different plates for about $70 so I could add in a mirrorless body just with a new bayonet plate. I don't know if it's by accident or intentionally but the Actus-G molded packaging fits perfectly inside a Pelican 1300 case - BONUS!
This will also focus to infinity so it works fine for architecture as well as tilting or swinging the focal plane for product photography.

[19.7" (50 cm)] I just love this lens, I use it with my Cambo Actus and Fuji GFX. I do mainly architecture and landscapes and this lens is perfect for it. Look at the first test shot I did.

[19.7" (50 cm)] Absolutely love this piece of Cambo equipment... They've gone through this design from top to bottom and have created a platform that is essentially a genius solution to having the ultimate digital view camera for those of us who require such a technical approach to creating images. The build quality and precision are top notch - everything feels very well machined and well assembled. The multiple lens plates for lens manufactures such as Mamiya, Pentax, Hasselblad, Leica and their very own Actar series of lenses allows you to have many options when it comes to lenses.

At first, this system can be confusing with what lenses will work with what body or digital back, but once you get familiar with their lens chart, it starts to make sense as to what can be used. The lens chart, listed below, gives all the data necessary to make informed decisions. I will say, with Pentax 645 glass, the latest HD DFA lenses are made specifically for Pentax's digital medium format bodies, which require a much smaller image circle than Pentax's 645 film format. So the A and FA Pentax lenses are a better option if you require shifting/rise/fall movements.

All in all, I would highly recommend this system. If you need rear standard movements, Cambo has even more in depth models known as the Actus MV and Actus XL, which in my mind seems better suited for studio and product photography. Personally, I use this system for interior design and architectural photography and I must say: it's working better than any T/S lens - and I own and use some phenomenal T/S lenses, i.e., the 19mm, 24mm, 45mm and 85mm PC-e lenses from Nikon; these are outstanding lenses, but the Cambo allows me more freedom of movement, so this is why I made the switch from a pair Nikon D-850 bodies and said T/S lenses. Freedom!!!!! (of movement).

[0.8 lb] I've found the Cavision whip to be quite useful not only in keeping a focus puller assistant at a comfortable yet workable distance from the camera rig, but also in situations where I'm working solo and want quick zooming control without touching the lens or having to reach forward to turn the wheel on the follow focus unit. The whip is very well-built, the flexible coiled metal shaft completely enclosed in a protective thick rubber/plastic sheath. A spring-loaded ball-bearing locking mechanism ensures that the whip quickly and securely snaps into place in my Cavision follow focus unit, and also allows for easy removal. An outstanding value.
