Yes, touching the unit on a cable may cause both bouncing (i.e. changes in height per the z axis) and also induce some sway/swing in the cable that can also cause instability. We would recommend utilizing only the remote control to move it. Also, it's a good idea to start recording well before there is going to be an event happening that you want on video so that any cable movement has diminished by the time the action starts.
