A: The light has variable color control. So you need to play with the color control on the light to get it to match what you are shooting in. But that also means you need to set your camera to the correct white balance. You should not be shooting in auto white balance.

A: At 6 feet, the output would be 360 lux. Light quantity is inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the source of that physical quantity.

Q: 4. Is there an adapter to use a Panasonic battery instead of the Sony Battery with the GELEDP312T?

A: There is no adapter to use Panasonic batteries.

Q: 5. .So I'm getting ready to purchase and narrowed it down to Bescor FP-312 and the Genaray 7100T...I heard from some that say the Genaray re The Tungsten setting will give you a pinkish orange hue, and the daylight setting a strong red pinkish hue. I know this was written 3 years ago, however, this concerns me. Anyone can verify that the color temp is accurate?...thank you

A: Recent (2017) reports suggest both of these lights do a good job for the price with no adverse color issues.

Q: 6. I have two questions:1. Does the color temperature change when the light is dimmed?2. What adapters (if any) are needed to mount this camera at a 90 degree angle off the top of a light stand so I can hang this light directly over the top of a camcorder that has a prompter (that's why I can't use the shoe mount)?

[8 in] I bought this light to take pictures of cats, as I've had poor results using flash (blinking, red-eye) and cats won't always go and sit in pools of sunshine when you ask them to. This light works well and the included accessories provide a lot of value. I'm using it on a tripod rather than on-camera. 5

[8 x 6.75 x 2.1"] I was a little nervous about this light because of its cost but, turns out it works great. Plenty of power and easy to use. Lights up the area you need only wish that it came with barn doors. If you’re looking for a portable light without spending big bucks this is it. So happy with the B&H team. 5

[Veltex] Took advantage of special pricing from B&H. Although I have a few other brands of LED video lights, I have used the Genaray's big brothers in a couple of video projects. I have used this with a DSLR, Canon 5D Mark III and a Canon XA20 camcorder. This unit comes with two batteries but, will run with one. With the one battery I was able to run about 45 minutes on full power. Construction is good. I did try and use it with a shoot through umbrella but, the light output was not sufficient enough with just the one light. It is a good light for close work and seems to be durable. 5

[0.145 lb] I have used this light for photographing moths at night. As long as the distance between the moth (or object) and the camera lens is less than 12 inches the moth is illuminated well and the camera can be hand-held. The light will illuminate objects farther away like a flashlight would (can see deer about 30 feet away) but it is not bright enough to take pictures...would need a tripod or a flash. 5

[Veltex] I have used this for an all day shoot on one charge of the two (included) batteries. It's simple lightweight, great for small spaces. I used it handheld more than camera mounted. The hot shoe mounting hardware is a little light for the job; you'll probably opt for a beefier mount. I like the color range--worked great on talent, especially lighting dark-skinned individuals where we tried to be sensitive to accurately reproducing skin tones. 5

[8 x 6.75 x 2.1"] I bought many Genaray lights and they work great. No flickering, maybe I've been lucky. This one is my go to light for on camera lighting for Weddings and events. Throws a great distance and gives a broad spectrum of light. Definitely getting more of this model. Also I only turn it up maybe 1/4 to half power to brighten my subjects. Batteries also last longer this way. 5
