[2.1 lb] How excited can you get about a hard drive -- unless your NAS Raid array loses a drive. After calling Buffalo (manufacturer of the NAS unit), they gave me the specs for the replacement. I was very happy to see B&H among the online retailers that handle these, and extremely happy, but not surprised, that B&H had a great price. Some vendors matched B&H but none beat B&H. The NAS unit is back up and running great.

[8 TB] These TeraStation raid arrays work well. Buffalo support is excellent. Email notifications are easy to setup.

[2.1 lb] I recently got the Buffalo TeraStation Essentials 8TB 4-Bay NAS Array for our small business, and wow, it's made a big difference! With 8TB spread over four 2TB drives, we've got loads of space for all our important files. Setting it up was super easy, which was a relief, and using it was straightforward, too. It's quick and reliable when we access our data, which helps everything run smoother day-to-day. Plus, it feels sturdy and well-made, so I'm not worried about it breaking down on us. Honestly, adding the TeraStation to our setup has been a great move for keeping our data organized and easy to get to.

[8 TB] I must admit if you are not technically knowledgeable about how networking works then this is not for you! Easy setup means sometimes easy to hack! Basically Buffalo NAS is targeted for Business class. I have seen most of the businesses running are using Buffalo products for backup specifically TerraStation model which is similar setup to LinkStation but with more robust features. Once you understand the system then you will never look for another NAS. I always trusted this brand! Hope this will give some clarifications and helps people who are looking to install in their networks.

[ 3.5" HDD ] I bought this diskless and installed a pair of HGST NAS DeckStar 6TB HDD as a RAID1 on a Win7 network. Have contacted Buffalo support a couple of times and could not disagree more with the dissatisfaction expressed by other reviewers: I had fast, accurate and literate replies. I use this as a strictly LAN device, no Torrent, no iStuff.

A positive is the USB port to which a backup drive may be added and the system can be set to do an automatic back-up to this drive (I'm security conscious and have a 6TB WD Red NAS mounted there and back-up is done very night and reported to me by email).

A potential issue in event of a hardware failure is the Linux OS as Linux formatting differs from MS, but the USB back-up mitigates this as it is MS formatted. Also, while fast enough for my purposes, the processor's speed may not be up to another person's expectations.

All in all, coming up to four years now, I'm very satisfied.

[2.1 lb] 1. This drive is very easy to use as is---you can plug it in, download the apps, and use it that way.
2. If you're using Linux and/or don't want to download their apps, you can just connect to the device through a browser and set it up that route instead.
3. The device itself runs Linux, so if you want to tinker with it there are folks online who show you how to run Debian on it! (Just google debian on buffalo.) It's not very powerful (Arm7 with 256MB RAM) but if you want you can still use it for a bit more than just storage.

I'm really happy with my purchase.

[8 TB] Bought as a shared backup solution after Drobos died and that company is going belly-up, with no support or products. TeraStation was easy to connect up and set up shares to multiple PCs. Robust with plenty of capacity.

[8 TB] Have had this for a few weeks now and I've had no issues with it. I'm using it for keeping all my photos and videos in one place and not spread out over several devices. I also want to get rid of remove cloud subscriptions and have everything in one place. I'll eventually add the other hard drives as the need arises. I'm very happy with the purchase. It's my first NAS and things were easy to set up.

[ 3.5" HDD ] I only installed it a short week ago. But my computer tech set it up for me and so far all goes smooth. I have another Buffalo as well and this one also runs well and smooth!
B&H is a respected company and I trust them since several decades. They are prompt in delivery and execute returns also very efficient.

[8 TB] Set up as a 4TB available RAID 1 and it has excellent data transfer speeds as well as data security. As always, B&H pricing was tops!
