This pair of Tannoy 5" Ceiling Loudspeaker with Dual Concentric Driverfrom Tannoy 5" Ceiling Loudspeaker with Dual Concentric Driverincludes two full-bandwidth, high-power handling, and high-sensitivity loudspeakers built around Tannoy's CMS 3.0 Ceiling Monitor System technology. Based on a Dual Concentric point-source driver, the speaker delivers wide and consistent broadband directivity, intelligibility, and an accurate and linear response.

The Dual Concentric driver design features Omnimagnet technology and the Torus Ogive Waveguide device, together providing consistent and controlled directivity along with improved high frequency response. Time alignment and coherence between low and high frequencies enhances performance both on- and off-axis. The baffle provides a subtle extension to the wave-guide effect for additional sonic benefits.

The loudspeaker also features extra clamp extension to accommodate thicker ceiling panels, and a locking design that prevents inadvertent over-screwing. Magnetic grille attachment enables easy removal and fitting for custom painting. It utilizes a 16-Ohm driver, making it ideal for use in high-performance, low-impedance systems. A low insertion-loss 30W transformer is included, with convenient front switching for taps at 30W, 15W, and 7.5W, with an additional 3.75W tap for traditional constant voltage systems.

Each speaker is supplied with an integral back can, ready to install as a single unit. The removable locking connector has screw terminals for secure wire termination and loop-thru facility. Strain relief is provided by a clamping mechanism for use with a plenum-rated cable or conduit, while the spring-loaded and self-aligning clamps make for quick and easy installation. Each loudspeaker is supplied with a grille, two tile support rails, and a C-ring.

[23 lb] I have a 3-way crossover inside my drum monitor and blew the speakers that were in it so I needed to replace the low end and the mid range speakers and I am very happy I chose this midrange speaker for the replacement. It works and sounds great on stage for my drummer. I have not blown it out as I am pushing 750 watts to it at the peak and it works good. I am very happy with this speaker. 5

[90°] I was worried about these speakers because the photos are very basic. On the back is a small pannel you unscrew, pop out a blank, and pull the two wires through the blank spot. Wires are black and white. By default theyre set to high, had to turn them down a notch to be low enough for a retail store. Very good speakers. 5

[90°] I purchased these speakers to replace the 12 inch woofers that were in two PA 121 cabinets originally sold by Mackie Industrial. These were manufactured by RCF in Italy and rebranded as Mackie. The original 12s had basically rotted away and were unusable. I emailed Eminence and they confirmed that this would be a good replacement choice. The build quality of these Eminence speakers is very impressive and professional. When it came to testing, I was very pleasantly surprised! Punchy lows, very clean mids. In my system I have the cabinets set up for bi-amping. The crossover point is set at 3000 HZ. I would describe the sound as very musical and accurate. I also own a pair of QSC K 10s. I did an A-B comparison and found that the Mackie speakers with the eminence 12s sounded very similar to the K 10s but a little cleaner and much, much louder. The efficiency and output level is almost unbelievable at this price point. (about 300w available to each 12 inch and about 50w to each horn) The first time I had an opportunity to use these speakers was at an outdoor 5K race as an announce system at the finish line. We were covering an area about the size of two football fields with several thousand people. The sound was great and the customer was very happy. It sounded like a much larger system. One additional benefit, the cabinets are now noticeably lighter than they were before. That's always a plus! I highly recommend the speaker; you will not be disappointed. 5

[90°] This speaker has lots of punch. I use it with crown amplifiers, and you can really feel it in your chest. You'll need to purchase the box to mount the speaker separately. 5
