Increase the height of your tripod with the Sunwayfoto ET-02 Carbon Fiber Tripod Extension Tubefrom Sunwayfoto. This extension tube screws onto your tripod plate's 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 screw to add up to 16.7" to its maximum height. Once you are done shooting, collapse the tube to 10" for simpler transport.

This 2-section tube is operated by a simple twist lock, and the mounting screw can be attached under the tripod head or directly into the camera. The tube is constructed of carbon fiber material, which makes it corrosion-resistant. This material also keeps the extension tube at a modest 5 ounces, making it easy to carry and use. A load capacity of 22 lb and a 1.5" top plate diameter allow for a wide variety of camera equipment to be mounted. This extension tube comes with bushing adapters and will fit any tripod with a 1/4" or 3/8" mounting stud.

A: Yes, the threaded stud has a spring loaded 3/8" collar, when pressed down, reveals a 1/4-20" thread.

A: Yes. The bottom is 3/8's with an adapter to make it 1/4. The top is 1/4 and it comes with an adapter to make it 3/8. I use the 1/4 adapter in the bottom and use the 1/4 thread in the top as it comes. I don't think I will need the 3/8 adapter for the top, but having them makes the product very versatile. The picture shows both adapters but you can't tell what they are.

Q: 10. I have a gitzo ball head--can I mount it on this tripod?

A: Yes, mostly any ball head will fit, it has a 3/8 stud.

[16.7" / 43 cm] Bought this primarily for astro photography to use with a Z6 and Nikon 20 f1.8 lens. It is well suited for this. The flip locks make for fast setup. I tried it with my 400mm lens.There was no lens creep, but I would hesitate to use it under windy conditions. It seemed little light and top heavy. 5

[22 lb / 10 kg] I'm using this with a Manfrotto 501HD head and it's a really solid setup for running B cam on my RED Komodo. It's really light and a huge improvement on my older Manfrotto carbon sticks that cost way too much. Of course, there's no bowl for quick balancing, but I can live with that since I'm just using the sticks for interviews. It'd be harder with a full run-n-gun shoot. 5

[0.445 lb] In Florida we do a lot of bird photography in nature centers like Wakodahatchee or Green Cay. Basically boardwalks with guard rails through swampy areas. I screw the top of tube directly into the foot of my long lenses, adjust the lenght and place the bottom of the adjustable extension tube on top of the railing to provide substantial support for the considerable weight of the Nikon D850 with battery grip, with long lenses like my 600mm f/4 and 1.4 XT/c. For prolonged shooting at stationary subjects ( like nesting or courting birds) it provides a much more stabile support than a monopod and is certainly more maneuverable than either a monopod or tripod. I leave the tube attached while I walk around the boardwalk. Of course, it depends on how tall you are. At 6' it is ideal for me, but the tube would be too long for someone considerable shorter. Also I found inserting a rubberized foot on the bottom of the tube increased the stability of the rig. I use an extra rubber foot from a RRS tripod that screws directly into the bottom of the tube, but anything from a hardware store would do. I think you will find this will work if you do similar shooting. 5

[Carbon fiber] I really like this tripod, especially for the money. Lightweight carbon travel tripods with flip locks aren't the cheapest thing to come by. I despise the twist lock (setup and breakdown is so much slower than flip lock) models and my preferred Manfrotto BeFree Carbon Travel Tripod was inexplicably discontinued and converted to twist locks. So in my search for lightweight carbon tripods with flip locks, I came across this Sirui and have been quite happy with it. Can't beat it for $200 (I got it a bit less with a mail in rebate). 5

[10" / 26 cm] Really nice tripod. It locks in a 22lb precision rifle no problem and holds it rock solid. The quick release levers are very convenient. The ball head is a little smaller than I expected but it's still really strong. If you can afford it I'd recommend spending and extra $110 and getting the master series with a 65 IB head. 5
