The Sirui Aluminum Monopod with Feet VA5 Headfrom Sirui Aluminum Monopod with Feet VA5 Headis a versatile, aluminum tripod that features a folding, three-legged tilting base for added stability in challenging conditions. The base allows 20° of tilt in any direction and features rubber tips for secure traction. Designed for photographers on the go, the P-204SR offers more stability than a traditional monopod, but without the bulk and weight of a tripod. Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a thread on the legs so that 3-position legs can be screwed onto the monopod?

A: The rubber feet on the legs of the Neewer 77" 2-in-1 Aluminum Tripod/Monopod with Arca-Type Head cannot be removed. It is not possible to change out the rubber foot for something else.

Q: 2. Does the unit have a D ring to attach the plate to the camera?

A: Yes, the camera plate that comes with the Neewer 77" 2-in-1 Aluminum Tripod/Monopod with Arca-Type Head has a D-ring on the screw for easy attachment to a camera.

Q: 3. I really like the concept behind this tripod, It will fit in my bag and is a half pound lighter than the 2004. I have two questions 1) I assume I can replace the ballhead (I already have a good Markins one). It doesn't seem they sell them separtely (legs from head). 2) Do you think the setup can stably handle a 150-450mm lens (4.4lbs/2 kg) lens on a smallish SLR body?

A: Ye it can easily handle the setup

Q: 4. can center column be extended to monopod length while still attached to tripod legs?

A: The center column cannot be extended while still connected to the legs of the Neewer Portable Aluminum Tripod/Monopod with Pan Head.

Q: 5. Is the reverse ball head removable? As in, can I replace it with another head that uses a 3/8th screw?

A: Yes, the Sirui VHD-2004L 2 Series Aluminum Tripod with Leveling Head has a removable ball head. You can remove it and add a different ball head on the 3/8" screw.

Q: 6. How wide is the center column and upper leg sections? Does the center column move or jiggle when locked in elevated position?

A: The Sirui VHD-2004L 2 Series Aluminum Tripod with Leveling Head center column has 2 sections. The upper section is 24mm wide and the lower section is 28mm wide. The column is quite stable even when fully extended to 24". The tripod upper leg section is 31mm wide without the padding, and with the padding, it is 37mm wide.

Q: 7. Will Manfrotto XPRO 3-Way Gear head fit on this leg?

A: Yes.

Q: 8. What's the difference between this one and the P-224SR monopod?

A: The discontinued Sirui P224SR Carbon-Fiber Photo/Video Monopod with Folding Tilt Base does not include a head and is made with carbon-fiber material. The current Sirui Aluminum 4 Section Monopod with Feet and VA5 Head has the VA5 Head, is made with aluminum material, and Sirui added the Dual Safety Lock System.

Q: 9. Are the leg locks plastic or aluminum?

A: The following unit features aluminum legs.

Q: 10. One of the legs won't lock and keeps sliding down which makes the tripod useless. I've tried to tighten the screws but that doesn't help.I don't know if I have a receipt or warrantee. Suggestions?

A: Have you talked to the manufacture?

[6.2 lb] On 12-12-21, I purchased this Sirui NT 1005XE10 travel tripod. It is perfect for my Fujifilm X-T-2 camera and lens i.e. Fujinon 16mm F1.4 & Fjuinon 18-135mm F 3.5-5.6. The tripod provides adequate height, is light weight and very functional with the E-10 ball head for a great price at B-D Photo & Video.

[4] This monopod is amazing. The fluidhead is much better than the fluidhead on my other tripod. This is ideal for run and gun shooting to get steady shots (especially if your lens does not have IS). The feet are nice and sturdy. I would only warn that this cannot function as a tripod most of the time. There will still be some shake even if you hold it as steady as possible. It will be most visible outdoors when there is a lot of wind. Aside from that, the tripod is a must have. Very versatile.

[6.2 lb] Light, and amazingly sturdy. Some complain about the stiff legs but it comes with allen wrenches so you can loosen or tighten them. Also if you have some muscle it's not a problem. I'd rather they be a little stiff that to loose. Best travel tripod I've bought so far.

[4] I was looking for a lightweight, compact travel tripod to use with my Nikon D850 with telephoto lens. I had read that with most of these types of tripods you needed something that exceeded the actual weight of your camera and lens to ensure good stability. I knew that there would be some tradeoff with a travel tripod, as compared to a standard, heavier tripod, which I have. Although I have not used the Sirui extensively, it feels substantial and is more stable than I expected for a tripod that weighs only 2.7 lb. It is rated for a load capacity of 22 lb. and folds to a compact 14. The tripod has a detachable leg which converts into a monopod which is a nice feature. I am very pleased with the tripod and with the rebate provided by the company, the price was very right.

[6.2 lb] Just what I was looking for - A very heavy, stable, sturdy, tall tripod at a reasonable price. The tripod legs can be angled a little for tight quarters or a lot for more stability, and lock in place. This 5.5 lb. mass of rigid metal definitely eliminates any camera shake.

[4] Excellent travel tripod. The Aluminum version is very nicely priced compared to the Carbon Fiber version, and is only about 200gms heavier. For the occasional hike and such, the 200gms is pretty alright. If you were backpacking, or hiked log distances with your gear, the saved 200gms might help.

I compared it to many others in the category - I wanted a single section center column, and only 4 leg sections. (not 5). This is probably the most solidly built in it's height and weight class. You can find more stable tripods that are heavier, and smaller and lighter tripods that are not as stable. But this is an excellent middle ground.

The ballhead is pretty good as well. It has an independent pan knob, which is appreciated.

I used it a couple of times, with a weight attached (a gallon bottle) for stability, and the tripod seemed fine. Even with the center column lowered, the height is pretty decent. (for shooting the sky - although I did have to squat a couple of times). I used it with a mirrorless camera, with both a wide-angle prime, and telephoto lenses, and it seemed to handle the weight of the equipment just fine as well.

Overall, a solid buy. But the prices do change from time to time, so whenever you're considering this, also consider other make tripods. There are quite a few good competitors out there.

[4] I went to NYC to film a number of events and found my traditional tripod to be too heavy and too big for the spaces I was in and being a one woman show, weight matters! I went to B&H and told them I needed something lightweight, small footprint, high quality for my G85 Panasonic with a quick release head and this is what they suggested. It's amazing. Not something you should walk away from due to small base ft but perfect for trying to be non intrusive in small intimate settings. Def. A new favorite in my kit.

[6.2 lb] I've always been a big fan of Sirui products. Own many K-30 and K-40 Ballheads as well. The VHD-2004L Leveling Head Tripod is well built, well thought out and stout. The leveling ballhead and (removable via one leg) monopod and its ability to inverse main column for macro work, makes this the Swiss Army knife of most tripods. The ability to support up to 30+ pounds it just the cherry on top!

[4] I bought mine last year and have used it on numerous shoots. Mine arrived in great condition and has held up great. It has taken some abuse and been fine.

As a product overall, I think it works great and I've been happy with its performance.

Good value in my opinion.
