Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does the signal hold on an inactive port? meaning if I have a computer connected to input 1, and I switch to input 2, does the computer on input 1 think that it has lost the connection?

A: We are not sure of the process but we know that you do not lose the signal and that you can switch back and forth at any time.

Q: 2. Does this have HDMI 2?

A: Yes it does, this has HDMI 2.0 connections.

Q: 3. What do I need to use the included IR remote?

A: The KanexPro 3x1 HDMI Switcher with 4K Support comes with everything needed to operate the included IR remote.

Q: 4. Is the remote IR or RF? If IR is there a jack for remote IR sensor?

A: This products uses an included IR remote. It also includes an IR sensor with a cable.

Q: 5. Can it be set to always switch manually? I don't want it to switch automatically when a new source is connected. But I don't want to have to set this option every time I use it... How does it work?

A: hi from remote control can not change.i now if you off source 1 it will go to souce 2 auto

Q: 6. If this is used to switch between two monitors - one set to "duplicate" and one to "extend" the display - will those settings be retained for each? (currently using a splitter that makes all inputs appear the same to the PC, doesn't retain individual monitor settings)

A: This product will only work with the signal it is given. If you have the output from your computer set up to be a duplicate of the desktop, it should see that. If it is set up to extend the desktop it should see that. Those settings should be on the computer itself.

Q: 7. Will this switch support an HDR single?

A: We're afraid not. HDR is not listed as supported with this model. However you could look at the Gefen 4K Ultra HD 600 MHz 4x1 HDMI Switcher with HDR Support instead, BH #GEUHD60041. https://bhpho.to/2Grp0xR

Q: 8. Does this switch automatically between sources?

A: Yes and no. If you have both devices running at the same time and turn one off it will not automatically switch. However if you have one on, say a blue ray and turn it off then turn on the second device, say a gaming console it will recognize that your blue ray is off and automatically switch to your gaming console. It also comes with a remote that can manually switch between the three inputs as well.

Q: 9. Does it work bi-directionally? That is, will it switch one source to 3 different displays?

A: We're afraid not. This will allow you to switch between 3 different sources on 1 display. To send one source to multiple displays you need a Splitter, not a switcher. Kanexpro offers B&H # KASPHD201X44, which is a 1x4 HDMI Splitter that is 4K. https://bhpho.to/2JeEMdW

Q: 10. Does this have all 5 inputs on the back (as shown on the manufacturer site) or is one on the front?

A: I/O;Five HDMI inputsOne HDMI output

[5 VDC @ 1 A] setup was a breeze - I don't care about the 'auto' setting, so I turned it off. The only complaint I have at this point is that the status lights on the front panel are much brighter than they need to be. I haven't played with the audio options yet - this is for switching a 4K monitor between a couple of computers and (future use) one or two cameras, so audio is much less important for me

[1.5 lb] I saw the YouTube video on this switcher, which convinced me to purchase it. The results are better than I expected

I purchased this switcher to hook up a dvr/cable box, a tuner, a blu-ray player, and a vcr, to my tv (four inputs on the switcher's backside). I have a fifth input on the switcher's frontside if I should need it.

The indicator light for the dvr/cable box (input one) is normally on. If I turn on any of the other device, this switcher will automatically switch. This is so nice, that I don't even have to use the switcher's remote control.

[30/50/60 Hz] I bought this because my old splitter was a piece of junk and only had 4 ports, this one is exactly what i need as most 4K Tv's, there's really only 1 TRUE 4K HDMI port, so that's why i got this and it works great from switching between my Xbox, Apple TV, and other devices i have attached it it. Very easy to set up and use. Might buy another one for my other TV

[5 VDC @ 1 A] I used this in a custom podcast/tv studio installation, and it has been working flawlessly between 4 sources. It doesn't require A/C power, and also senses a new connection most times, so you don't even have to manually press the button. Thus far, zero issues. (FYI: my sources are: Roku, AppleTV, USB-C/HDMI adapter for laptops, and a Speck media player)

[30/50/60 Hz] Using this to have a newer 4K Chromecast with Google TV and a DVD player so I can run just one HDMI cable to my ceiling-mounted projector. Works great! Switches automatically, and I like that I don't have to plug it into power or fuss with anything.

[0.35 lb (158 g)] I needed it to be able to plug multiple HDMI devices into my older Sony TV that had only one port. This thing is awesome. No power required.

[30/50/60 Hz] A true 2.2 compliant switcher which does access and project HDR content. Unlike 1.4 switchers which “ support hdr content this unit is truly 2.2 compliant and supports 4k and hdr. Seems to offer great value for the price point
