Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you use a lens cap with this lens hood attached? What size?

A: Yes, it is able to attach with a lens cap.

Q: 2. Can the hood be partially collapsed to still provide some sun protection while not causing issues for wide angles? Or is the hood either fully collapsed or fully expanded, nothing in-between?

A: it is a good quality hood, but no, there is no intermediate position

Q: 3. Does this lens hood work for a Nikon P900?

A: In 18mm you might have problem with the hood vignetting, but the beauty about it, is you can collapse it to remove the vignette. On photographing at a extra wide lens setting, the hood can slide back out of the way in an instant. The best thing about it is that you can screw it onto the outside of your circular polarizer and it makes adjusting more easy by rotating the hood.

Q: 4. For the 67mm, does it work with Tamron 28-75 2.8 RXD for Sony Full Frame? I saw a similar review but unsure if it was this specific lens.

A: My experiences only with a Canon G15 and a Bower 58mm lens adaptor AND this Rubber lens hood. Vignetting was bothersome at wide 28mm zoom position (widest for G15) My solution was to purchase a 58mm Sensei screw-on Tulip lens hood. Vignetting was much reduced but still can be seen slightly at the 28mm wide angle setting. By cropping the images, we can live with the problem.

Q: 5. Is there any reason this 67mm B+W rubber hood will not work on a canon 70-200 F4/L IS zoom. I hike and shoot in wooded/rocky areas. It may provide added protection to my lens. ?

A: If the size, 67mm, matches your lense, it will most likely work. I purchased to install on a new Nikon P900, to have some protection from side bumps, etc . and reduce side light reflections, but I also installed a 0 Filter inside this hood to help protect the actual lens glass. Have seen no problems with the quality of the pictures taken, but when my long zoom lens on this camera is at my normal wide angle setting, I have to fold the rubber hood back or will get the rounded corners showing up in the pictures. I also fold the hood when storing in my small camera case which it does very easily.

Q: 6. Will this lens hood work on a Nikon p900 ?

A: You can use it , it might vignette on wide angle , if that happens you can push the hood inwards

Q: 7. Will this work with Zeiss 35 mm distagon without vignetting?

A: I personally have found no problem

Q: 8. Will this work on the Olympus 45mm 1.8 lens? Thanks

A: It will physically fit, but it is possible that you would see the edges of it in the frame.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with Olympus 45mm 1.8 lens?

A: Yes this hood can fit the Olympus 45mm f/1.8.

Q: 10. For the 67mm model, what is the diameter of the hood when collapsed and uncollapsed, respectively?

A: The 67mm hood is 1/2 inch when collapsed, and 1 and 1/2 inches when open.

[Thread] I needed a lens hood and some protection for my Fuji TCL-X100 conversion lens. This accomplished both with no vignetting that I have yet to detect. Perfect fit. It also retracts!

[Plastic, Rubber] Easily screws onto the filter adapter; seems to be sturdy construction and durable materials. I guess time will be the deciding factor...

[Plastic, Rubber] This collapsible hood has been perfect for a good seal when taking photos against glass--and without scratching that glass. Also, in my opinion, the screw threads on the B&W #900 hood are much better machined than most of the screw-in aluminum filter and step-up rings I've used--this hood easily screws on and off. For everyday use I now prefer this rubber hood over the dedicated hard hoods I bought for my Canon EF lenses.

[67 mm] Needed a hood for my Nikon 24-85 ed g lens. The Nikon hb 28 is unavailable. This is a great alternative. It allows the use of a lens cap while the hood is on. I am very pleased
