Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have both 55 mm and 67 mm lenses. I would like to be able to use 67 mm filter on 55 mm lens?

A: The Freewell 55mm Step-Up Adapter Ring for V2 Magnetic Filters allows you to put filters larger then 55mm on a 55mm lens.

Q: 2. do you have a brass set like this?

A: There are many individual step-up rings made of brass, but there are no sets of brass step-up rings like the Nisha Step-Up Ring Set (Set of 8).

Q: 3. Does using a 62 mm lense instead of a 52 mm lense make a difference in photo quality?

A: In general, no. However, it can be used to prevent vignetting on a wide angle lens with a standard ring polarizer or when stacking more than one filter on a lens.

Q: 4. Is the thread on this ring compatible with the Hoya 52mm Ultraviolet UV (C) Haze Multicoated filter? I have a Canon new Fd 50mm

A: From what we see the Hoya 52mm Ultraviolet UV (C) Haze Multicoated Filter BH #HOUVMC52 does have a front 52mm filter thread and should work with the Simmod Signature Series 52 x 80mm Front Step-Up Pro SimRing BH #SISR8052

Q: 5. what material are these made out of?

A: This Nisha Step-Up Ring Set is comprised of aluminum.

Q: 6. What colour flare does this model have?

A: The color of the flare could be green, blue, white or orange depending on visible spectrum of different light sources passing through the filter. I found green to orange most often.

Q: 7. Can i use this with my Q3 and is this compatible with my Kase KW Revolution Mega Set (82mm)?

A: Instead of the Kase Skyeye Magnetic Step-Up Adapter Ring (49-82mm), the Kase KW Revolution filter set would need the following adapter (according to the manufacturer): https://bhpho.to/2FfdT8z.

Q: 8. Will this ring fit Tiffen 55mm Circular Polarizing Filter

A: Yes it will.

Q: 9. IS this only compatible with freewell magnetic filters? or can it be used with other brands as well?

A: Guaranteed compatibility is only with Freewell magnetic filters unfortunately.

Q: 10. Can this be used with filters that aren't B+W brand? Such as Firecrest?

A: I've used these step up rings with various filter brands ... Hoya, Nikon, etc...

[Aluminum] I use it on my nifty fifty and my ef-s 24mm. I put a 67mm ND fader on it. You can really touch the quality. It's not a cheap metal ring. It has texture. So, it is easier to put screw in and out. Note that the smallish focus ring of the 50mm 1.8 II is hard to handle with the ring on. Autofocus will be your only solution for certain situations. That problem will not occur for other lenses (or the newest 50mm 1.8) where the focus ring is not on the very end of the lens.

[Aluminum] I really like not having to buy additional polarizing and ND filters. Works seamlessly.

[0.05 lb] This is just a great step-up ring. It is very thin and well constructed, so you won't see any vignetting. Totally recommended.

[Aluminum] Its a B+W shall I say anymore? It does exactly what I expected it to do and is copper clad so it'll not warp in cold weather.

[Aluminum] I use these to step up from adapted photo lenses for cinematography, with an 80mm outside diameter (and 77mm filter thread) to match other cine lenses. The Sensei brass step-up rings are really high quality, no comparison to various aluminum rings, and most cost-effective than the Heliopan. Actually I like the design of the Sensei better and would definitely only buy more of these now if I needed them.

[Aluminum] This is a well-machined ring. The quality is obvious. The grooved surface certainly helps with the removal of the ring. I was a little bit apprehensive by the price, but, upon attaching it to my lens and filter, I concluded it is the best choice. I currently use it with my Nikon 180mmm AFD, a Nikon 77mm polarizing filter (1 Gen.) and the Nikon HN29 hood. The entire set up plus rear lens cap and a Tamron 86mm snap-on lens cap (for the HN29) fits perfectly into a LowePro LC2 lens case.
