Sigma's FF High-Speed Prime Lenses combine the same high-quality optics and mechanics of their Global Vision still line in a cine-oriented design. This 20mm Sony E mount prime is a wide focal length in the series, offering full frame sensor coverage, 6 to 8K resolution, and a T1.5 aperture in a compact, lightweight form; it is also available in Canon EF and PL mounts. A common 95mm front diameter and similar physical attributes across the lens line make it easier and quicker to mount lens accessories such as matte boxes, follow focuses, and lens control motors.

The 9-bladed iris produces pleasing out-of-focus bokeh effects, and ghosting and flaring have been minimized. Color reproduction is standardized for easier color correction. Each lens in the range offers consistent lens gear positions and 180° of focus barrel rotation. The FF High-Speed Primes also feature a clickless iris with linear markings, dampeners on each gear ring for silent operation, industry-standard 0.8 module gear pitch, and engraved markings for durability. Focus marks are in feet with select markings in luminous paint for easy visibility in low light.

To relieve stress on your camera's lens mount, a support foot is built into the dust- and water-resistant metal lens body. If you wish to fit your FF High-Speed Prime lens to a different camera, the Canon EF and Sony E mount versions can be converted from one to the other by an authorized Sigma service center (not available for PL mounts).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. When shooting in the set, have you ever thought that you wish the focus of these lenses had a 300-degree rotation instead of 180? Would you mind describing the situation?

A: Large focus throws are imperative when working with significantly shallow depth of field.

Q: 2. Is there a Cooke/I dataport as well like on Zeiss XD or Cooke lenses? Or is the /I data just transferred via the mount

A: this lens supports standard cooke i Technology through the lens mount, there is no extended data or expanded I support

Q: 3. Why does it say the kit has an 85mm but has a 135mm in the photo and no 85?

A: The kit has an 85mm lens and the group picture is incorrect.

Q: 4. Is there a 65mm Sigma Art version with autofocus?

A: No, there is no autofocus version of the Sigma 65mm T1.5 FF High-Speed Cine Prime Lens (Canon EF Mount, Feet) in EF mount.

Q: 5. What lens mount is this set?

A: Thank you for your interest in Sigma products. This is a PL mount set.

Q: 6. Love this lens but the ARRI LMB 4x5 mattebox 95mm clamp on adapter ring doesn’t cover the gaps on left and right side. In other words, because the lens hood has the cut outs on the left and right side of the lens, the mattebox adapter ring isn’t deep enough to cover those gaps. So, you have to tape the openings each time you use this lens. Or, is there a better solution? A deeper adapter ring? It needs to remain at 95mm so that it’s easy to swap lenses.

A: As an alternative, you can use a 15mm LWS rod system so you can mount the mattebox using ARLMB4515LWS and ARLMB45TFA. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1341037-REG/arri_k2_0013427_lmb_4x5_15mm_lws.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1341036-REG/arri_k2_0014206_lmb_4x5_tilt_and.html

Q: 7. How much does the lens itself weight? The specs only list package weight

A: The PL version weighs 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb.

Q: 8. With this lens if I place it on my Red camera in a water housing can i purchase a screw in ND Filter? Or something can be clapped on the front?

A: When using the Sigma 14mm T2 FF High-Speed Prime (EF Mount) you would need to use a dome port. So you would not be able to use a screw in ND Filter or use a clamp. You could get a ND gel filter and place it inside the dome.

Q: 9. Does the Sigma ART line of smaller (photography sized) lenses feature the same optical performance as these?

A: When it comes to lenses the quality of the lens can be subjective, but I would say the look/operation of the Sigma 50mm T1.5 Fully Luminous FF High-Speed Prime (EF Mount, Feet) would general be considered superior to the Sigma ART series.

Q: 10. Will this PL Mount lens work with the RED PL mount fixture?

A: Yes it will.

[Imperial] I compared many lenses in this range, and it came down to these and the Tokina Vistas. The Tokina's had a beautiful image, but for $6k a lens, I was sure if the value was there.

So I pulled the trigger on a set of these sigmas, and I couldn't be happier. It's the best value for the dollar. I've used their art photo line, but these seem to have a better resolution, they are crispier, and the bokeh falls off like butter. You won't find a better value for the price. The next level up is $6-7k, then $10k

[Sony E] 7 beautiful, color matched, mechanically smooth, Art level lenses in cine mounts with a full range from 14-135mm. Using with PL mount on Helium Red sensor. Now in one single case for all lenses. Exceptional clarity and beautiful falloff. B&H was very helpful in making this purchase.

[20mm] This 85mm is a new addition to my Sigma lens set. I already use the 20, 24, 35 and 50, and they are all simply fantastic. First off, these lenses are FAST! 20mm T1.5??? Whaaat? That's madness. Next, they are all incredibly sharp wide open. No need to stop down to get a nice, crisp image. And with the sharpness, comes a beautiful creamy bokeh and great texture and colors. Add to that a (relatively) small size for a cine lens, a nice focus throw/rotation for super accurate focus, beautiful build quality and 8K ready, and you have an excellent tool for many years to come.

[4.15 lb] I just started using the Sigma FF lenses and shot in a very humid location. No internal condensation seen. These lenses have a much higher resolution as far as sharpness and critical focus goes as compared to my previous cine style lenses. Robust build to say the least. I haven't noticed any chromatic aberration at all. Looking forward to using these on feature work!

[4.15 lb] The Sigma 50mm T1.5 is simply a wonderful lens for me, I use it on every shoot. It works perfect for high-end commercials but is also wonderful for doc shooting since it has a shorter pull than it's competition.

It has an 82mm thread on the front allowing early filter additions when using teleprompter and a mattebox can't be arranged.

The Glow in the dark paint for the markings was really useful when it came to shooting an independent film in limited lighting.

I would recommend a set of Sigma Cine Lenses to anyone who needs to be versatile but is sick of the poor performance of stills glass.
