Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this adaptor work for both Nikon D200 as well as D780?

A: Yes, it is compatible with both cameras.

Q: 2. I understand about the altered focal length, but what is the quality of the image: sharpness, contrast, etc.?

A: Image quality is fair, remember there is a glass element in the adapter to allow for infinity focus.

Q: 3. Will a Minolta X370 lens work with a Nikon F2 when using this adapter? Thanks.

A: Yes. The FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Minolta MD Lens to Nikon F Mount Camera will allow you to use MD mount lenses from the X370 on a Nikon F2. There is a 1.4x teleconverter in the adapter in order to maintain infinity focus so your lenses will appear magnified.

Q: 4. does it support autofocus?

A: The FotodioX Canon EF Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Vizelex Polar Throttle Auto Adapter supports autofocus and all camera to lens communication.

Q: 5. Hello, I'm using a Lumix G7 with a lens turbo Nikon-M43 adapter. Do you think I could adapt an older Minolta MD W.Rokkor-X 24mm f/2.8 with the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Minolta MD Lens to Nikon F Mount ? That means I'd have the Turbo Lens + this adapter+ the Minolta MD W.Rokkor-X 24mm f/2.8? Any idea if I'm going to retain somewhat of a wide angle?

A: In theory you should be able to get the lens mounted on your camera. However, you won't have the wide angle from the 24mm. Due to the crop factor of your m4/3 body, the lens will have the field of view of a 48mm.

Q: 6. will this work on a nikon d300s please?

A: Yes will work but only in manual mode...

Q: 7. Will this work on Nikon D5300 camera ?

A: The FotodioX Adapter for Minolta MD-Mount Lens to Nikon F-Mount will work on the Nikon D5300.

Q: 8. Does this work with analgic Minolta SR lenses to Sony E mount?

A: The FotodioX Mount Adapter for Minolta SR/MD/MC-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera does work with Minolta SR mount lenses

Q: 9. I have 4 lenses that are from an old Minolta XE7 film camera. The first is a Nikkor -X 50mm f1.4 MC, an older Sgma 35-70mm f2.8 MD, a Vivitar 85-205mm f3.8 M/SR and a Vivitar 28mm f2.5 M/SR that I would like to use on my Nikon D7100. I realize it would be all manual. Would this adapter work for these lenses?

A: The FotodioX Adapter for Minolta MD lenses to Nikon F-mount bodies will allow any SR, MC, MD, or MD x-600 lens to work on your D7100. The only possible exception would be SR lenses made before 1961, as the aperture lever is shaped a bit differently. This may not necessarily rule out using the adapter, but it is something to consider, just in case you have any complications. Please keep in mind that there is a 1.4x conversion factor with this adapter (this allows for infinity focus capability to be retained). For example, a 35mm lens will look almost like 50mm (35mm x 1.4)You must use the lenses/adapter in aperture priority or manual mode.

Q: 10. With the 1.4 X correction, does this mean than a Minolta MD 85mm lens becomes a 119mm (85X1.4=119) on an FX body and a 178.5mm lens on a DX body (85X1.4=119X1.5=178.5)?

A: Yes, you are correct. Your 85mm lens will be multiplied by 1.4x on an FX sensor. On a DX sensor, it will be 85mm by 1.4x, multiplied by another 1.5x. This is due to the necessary adjustment for infinity focus compatibility.

[Yes] This adapter works brilliantly on my Nikon Camera with the Boyer Topaz Lens that I got! This allows you to use only manual lenses that you can buy for cheap on ebay!

[0.45 lb] I have several of these adapters and they work great for fitting vintage all-manual Minolta Rokkor MD and MC lenses to my Sony a7riii. Snug fit, but not too tight, and no light leakage (at small aperture or with ND filters) as with inexpensive Vello adapters which I have now either returned or thrown away. (I hope I am allowed to say that here.)

[Sony E] I came across 4 Minolta lenses and I have a Sony aR7ii so I picked up one of these and it's been fun learning to shoot on these lenses so I picked up 2 more (one lens is busted) for the rest of them so I don't have to swap out. Love them.

[Yes] This adapter has made my day! I wanted to try my Minolta lens I had purchased in 1973 on my Sony a6000. I'm getting great quality pictures with my 46 year old MC Rokkor-x PG 1:14 f=50mm now!! A solid well built adapter.

[0.45 lb] Got this to turn my Nikon 3200 into some sort of frankestein because I didn't want to buy more lenses. I could put the lenses from my Minolta onto it perfectly, and you need to run the camera in Manual. Works beautifully, I get better pictures and I can use my filters on a digital camera. The only weird thing is that it feels like it magnifies the lens a slight bit, my 50 feels more like a 55 or maybe a 60, but its negligible.
