Designed for "studio lighting outside the studio," the FoxFury Nomad P56 5600K LED Light for Productionfrom FoxFury Nomad P56 5600K LED Light for Productionis a highly portable, waterproof 4100-lumen LED lamp with integrated tripod designed for film, video and photo production. Ideal for run-and-gun ENG or documentary work, the light sets up quickly with no generators or cables, and its rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack will run the light for three hours on high power and 24 hours on low. It's also very useful as a work or emergency area light.

The P56 produces 5600K daylight-colored light with a high color rendition index of 95. You have the choice of high, medium and low constant-on modes, as well as a 4100-lumen flashing setting. The light head swivels and tilts, and comes with a diffuser for a softer, wider beam. The integrated tripod sets up quickly and can elevate the light head as high as 8 feet; it has a safety strap for attaching a sandbag in windy conditions.

Bad weather won't keep this light inside; it's IPX7-rated and submersible to 9.8'. Durably constructed of glass-filled nylon 66 and 6061-T6 aluminum, with a stainless-steel tripod stem, it's designed to stand up to the rigors of the road, and its 24-pound weight makes it highly portable. The battery pack can be recharged in seven hours from AC or DC power, and the light can be run directly on 12 VDC.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can these be mounted on a 14 ft ceiling, and is there installation assistance?

A: You could mount them to a 14' ceiling. Camera settings will determine how well they work at that distance. We do not offering an installation service at this time.

Q: 2. What are the dimensions of the light panel?

A: We would estimate the size of this light as 13 x 9.5 x 1.7.

Q: 3. What is the lux at 1 meter?

A: Yongnuo lists Lumen: 4680LM or 4680 Lumens at 1m. One lux is equal to one Lumen per square meter.

Q: 4. Does this light come with battries?

A: No, the Yongnuo YN6000 Daylight LED Panel Kit does not come with batteries.

Q: 5. How do you change the beam angle from a 55 degrees to 110 degrees?

A: I contacted the manufacturer concerning your inquiry. According to Yongnuo, they state that the Yongnuo YN360 III Pro 5600K LED Ice Light has 360 LED lamp beads (which provide the 3200-5600K bi-color light output) and 60 RGB SMD lamps (which provide full-color light output). When using the LED lamp beads for 3200-5600K bi-color temperature output, the lamp beads have a built-in beam angle of 55 degrees. When using the RGB SMD lamps for full-color output, the RGB lamps have a built-in beam angle of 110 degrees. The beam angle is not able to be adjusted, and solely depends on which lamps you are current using in the light fixture.

Q: 6. what's the difference between this model and the other pro version on your site, #YOYN3603PRO ?

A: The Yongnuo YN360 III Pro 5600K LED Ice Light, B&H # YOYN3603P56K, is a 5600K Daylight-balanced LED light fixture. The Yongnuo YN360 III Handheld Pro LED Video Light, B&H # YOYN3603PRO, is a bi-color light fixture with a Kelvin color temperature range of 3200K to 5500K and which also has RGB LED lamps to allow you to choose any color for your application usage needs.

Q: 7. What is the lumen rating of this LED ring? thank you

A: The Yongnuo YN208S LED Ring Light has 2304 lumens.

Q: 8. Will NP-F960 or NP-F970 batteries work in this light? Thanks.

A: All the NP-F9XX batteries share the same connection and voltage. Therefore they are completely safe and interchangeable. The difference is the amperage and thus how long they will last. Low drain devices like small camcorders benefit from the lower amperage batteries. Higher drain devices like lights or monitors benefit from higher amperage. The down side is more weight and expense. The NP-F960 or NP-F970 will work fine with this light.

Q: 9. What DC charger goes with this? It says coax plug, but there are 2-3 DC coax plug types I know of.

A: The ac adapter for this is # FUACADPTR12V

Q: 10. How many amps does this product use when plugged in?

A: As per the manufacturer, the unit will draw 0.9 amps for about 100 watts when plugged into an AC outlet.

[95] I utilize this as a shop light coupled with the Impact Mid-Range Boom Arm with Light Stand & Casters Kit and it has fulfilled my needs very well. I used it as a shop light, not for photography. That doesn't mean I haven't used it to take some pictures as well but it's mainly a positional work light in my possession.

[5600K] My lighting needs includes a battery powered (one-hour + on full-power) key-or-fill light that could be balanced with existing on-location light colors. I hoped the light would provide enough lumens for at least F4 aperture in a dark room at 20 feet and could be dimmed if needed. This light does all that - using my Sony FS7. I'll have to wait to see about battery life but I'm expecting at least one year. My rough color spread is from 3500K to 5500K and I wish the spread was more. But, the light fits my needs and I'm pleased with my purchase. Adding a second light would be helpful in a small number of situations. Experience is needed with the light to understand the color options but that's nothing new.

[18 lb (8.2 kg)] I was able to get it through some forum contacts, I believe this was a Beta unit, because the new one I recently got was a little bit different (The backplate, the power supply) Both the 18 and 36 versions of the lights are amazing, I first got a 36 version and I liked it so much, I got one more 36 and I got an 18 version, in Daylight. The 18 light is small enough to get 3 of them into a Run and Gun lighting kit, with room to spare for accessories. I see they have the V-Mount option for pre-order, and I plan on getting a few when they're for sale. This light outperforms my Kino Diva's in 1/4 of the space. They put out a ton of light, and I love the COB Led's instead of the Lensed LEDs. the Color is amazing on the light, I got 96 CRI, and it's so nice to see a manufacturer that isn't putting out fake photometric data on their lights (A lot of lights I get claim high CRI only to find out they are unusable, with a greenspike or a magenta cast). The light does wrap a face like they say, but to avoid the multiple shadows, you have to use diffusion on the barndoors or the ones that come with the lights. Also the fact that Flolight is including high quality LEE filters that are specially made for LEDs is pretty impressive. I'm used to get cheap plastic filters, that are well a joke. Anyone who shoots with LEDs panels knows that you have to use diffusion if you plan on shooting any person or subject with depth or contours. I feel like this light was built with care, and it feels like it's going to last for years. There's no plastic cheap anything with the body of the light. I think the one big downfall of the light is the power supply. The first one I got had on on/off switch, and the new one does not? I'm not sure what this is about, maybe they're going to fix this in the future? I'm glad I finally found an upgrade to my Kinos, no more broken bulbs or huge lights to lug around!

[95] These compact lights are simply amazing. they deliver the goods that is power and lots of light and at a fraction of the size of other lights in this power class. the simple light shaping tools are actually quite impressive. for some jobs I have been using the ring adaptor to leverage my profoto soft boxes as well.

[95] I am familiar with Light & Motions battery integrated cinema lights (also can run off AC) and was surprised they even made a 10,000 lumen, flicker-free model. Its lighter and smaller than any of the heavy duty stuff Ive been lugging around. It comes with a decently long AC cord but you can easily use a Dtap and run your own batteries at remote locations. This is the power and quality I can use on all kinds of shoots, especially being fully dimmable. Throw on a dish or softbox and Light & Motion offers modifiers like a 25 degree Fresnel, barn doors, CTO sets, etc. Excellent high power lighting option!

[95] This is a very useful kit with room to spare in the case, so you can also pack a pair of Omni lights for a nice kit with both broad and spot capability. I find the combo of two small tungsten and two compact LED panels to be a perfect kit for small, single camera documentary shoots.

[18 lb (8.2 kg)] Led's are very bright and powerful. There was no english manual, i had tough time getting started. The big advantage is external batteries which you can buy from third party. I got two big ones so that i do not have to worry about anything else.

[95] I do a lot of commercial documentary style filmmaking out in Napa Valley for wineries. I also do real estate and wedding videography. A lot of run and gun.

In most cases I am racing the clock with little time to shoot. Setting up and finding an outlet for my Arri lights wasnt practical for my style of filmmaking. This light is extremely mobile with the option of controlling the color temperature. I find my shooting location, pop it up and adjust the settings very quickly. It gives me exactly the extra POP that I need to keep my product looking professional. Battery last forever too!

For the price... I dont think you can beat this deal. Its a must for run and gun filmmakers.
