The SLR Magic 62mm Image Enhancer Pro Filter SEO Titleis an ultraviolet and infrared control filter that is useful for digital cinematography as well as still photography. While recording video with a CCD or CMOS camera, multi-stop neutral-density filters are used to maintain proper exposure by compensating for increased light levels when widening the camera lens's iris to obtain a narrower depth of field. As the increased amount of light passes through multi-stop neutral-density filtration, visible light is progressively blocked, while infrared light is allowed to pass through. As the proportion of infrared light that reaches the sensor of a camera being used for digital cinematography becomes greater, the results can show unwanted color shifts, particularly in dark areas of the frame such as shadows where the appearance of black is dominant.

When the SLR Magic 62mm Image Enhancer Pro Filter is applied, ultraviolet light waves along with infrared light waves are suppressed, helping to ensure that light falling on a digital camera sensor is limited to the visible spectrum. When used along with multi-stop neutral-density filters while recording with a digital sensor, potential infrared color shifts are prevented or minimized, preserving color accuracy throughout the frame. This filter may also be used to help ensure that the appearance of unwanted blue casts is reduced while recording digital video or still photos under daylight that also features intense ultraviolet light.

The front and rear surfaces of a SLR Magic 62mm Image Enhancer Pro Filter include forty-two and eight layers of interference coatings respectively. Those coatings allow the filter to limit the light that falls on a digital camera sensor to the visible spectrum. A nano coating offers protection to the filter substrate, and results in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency.

This filter is constructed from Water White glass for increased clarity as well as color fidelity and features an aluminum-alloy filter ring for durability while remaining lightweight.

Suppresses ultraviolet light waves, reducing bluish cast of daylight when recording video or still photos.

Useful with CCD or CMOS sensors to filter out infrared light pollution that cause color shifts frequently associated with high-definition recording with multi-stop neutral-density filters.

Does not require adjustments to exposure while in use.

Forty-two layers of interference coatings on front surface and eight layers on rear surface limits light that falls on a digital camera sensor to the visible spectrum.

Nano coating offers protection to the filter substrate and results in an improved beading effect when in contact with water for greater cleaning efficiency.

Constructed from Water White glass for increased optical clarity.

Aluminum-alloy filter ring is durable while remaining lightweight.

62mm front filter threads allow use with other filters to protect front surface or combine with other effects.

Plastic case included for storage and transport.

Q: 1. Can this filters fit to the Sigma 18-35 mm 1.8 art ? I use camera Blackmagic 6K G2

A: The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens for Canon EF has a 72mm filter thread, so the SLR Magic 77mm Self-Locking Variable Neutral Density 0.4 to 1.8 Filter (1.3 to 6 Stops) won't fit without a step-down ring like this one: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1026570-REG/sensei_surp_7277_pro_72_77mm_brass_step_up.html

Q: 2. Hi, I have a GH5 with Leica 12-60 62mm lens, can I use SLR62VNDII? thanks

A: Yes. You can use this ND Filter with the Leica 12-60 as long as the front filter threads are the same size.

Q: 3. Can I screw other 82mm filters into the front thread?

A: You cannot. The front is wider. It accepts 86mm filters or 86mm lens caps in the front.

Q: 4. I’ve read this is the USA version of the Hoya Starscape filter, is that true? Or is there a difference with the Starscape from this model?

A: YEs this is the USA version of the filter.

Q: 5. Is this the first or second version of the variable ND filter?

A: This is the second version of the variable ND filter.

Q: 6. Does this work with the DJI X5S? Any suggestions which balancing ring is required to work with DJI X5S?

A: May need to add another 52mm weight to balance

Q: 7. Is this the Mark II version ??

A: I'm quite sure you can find the answer to this question by just a casual reading of the product information of this item. If it's missing, then I suppose B&H or the manufacturer are not doing its job of informing the consumer about this product. In any case, please refrain from spending your hard-earned money on the SLR Magic Variable ND as the rotating lever on my filter came off after the 4th use. There isn't much built-quality and durability for something without electronic parts. Plain shocking. Please get the B+W VND instead, I swear by that one.

Q: 8. That 52mm filter adapter has glass in it, right? Can I get it out and put 52 to 72 step up adapter on it? Not sure why they put glass...I'm afraid to touch it:)

A: Yes you can just use step up ring

Q: 9. Is the 86mm (outer) side of this ND filter threaded? Has anyone screwed anything into it successfully? I'm considering an 86mm lens hood.

A: Yes, it is a threaded 86mm.

Q: 10. Does this one fits Leica 12mm F/1.4 lense of GH5?

A: Yes I bought it for that lens.

[Aluminum] i got this filter pro enhancer because the spectral band pass reduces the white light glow on my spectrograph..so if you have a visible over bright image this will cut the light by about 1/2. i can use this infront of the spectrograph input and take longer exposures of the IR UV and NIR
