Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the operating temperature range? Is this cable good for in-wall/in-ceiling installation?

A: We use these cables for events, so mainly we run them on the ground or string them up for a few hours and then take them down. On some accessions we've ran a few in the ceiling, but the ambient temperature is no more that 100F.I have had 1 or 2 cables warp due to direct heat greater than 120F.

Q: 2. I purchased one and it will not work. There is no sound. Thinking I had a wire broken that is not the case. I plug another mic into it and it worked. So I am thinking there is something wrong with the mic,? Help.

A: It is difficult to determine what the issue may be with the mic. As a note this mic does require phantom power. If you believe the mic is defective or would like to speak with a Representative who may be able to assist you please call us at 800-606-6969.

Q: 3. Hi, will a Sony ECM 674 fit on this mount? Thx.

A: Yes it will fit fine.

Q: 4. is this a battery operated microphone?

A: There is no place to add a battery, but it does require extra power (phantom power) from the mixer to work.

Q: 5. To clip it on your eyeglass arm as a boom aimed at your mouth, would it pull too much on one's plastic eyeglass frame to be able to walk while wearing it?

A: That would not work well that way.

Q: 6. What Country is this microphone made in?

A: According to the information we have, our current inventory's Country of Origin is Japan. Please be aware this can change over the product's production life without notice.

Q: 7. Does this mic have internal shock mounting? How does the handling noise compare to the AT8004?

A: This is a condenser microphone, so it is generally more sensitive than a dynamic microphone like the AT8004. The construction of the microphone is metal and very robust so if you are not doing a whole lot of moving around, handling noise should not be too much of a problem. I would recommend trying it out first and if you experience lots of handling noise for your application, I recommend using a pistol grip with it, like this Auray model. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/885604-REG/auray_grip_universal_mic.html The threads match the adapter and AT8470 Quiet-Flex Stand Clamp that is included with the AT2010.

Q: 8. If I'm going from a soundboard to a XLR input on a camera can I use these cables and do I have to worry about impedance? There were a note that these are low impedance cable.. Thanks!!

A: This cables native impedance will be suitable for your application. There are no impedance issues.

Q: 9. I need to set up Shure SM57 mic on the top of upright piano using a small tripod mic stand (Ultimate Support JS-KD55 - Angle-Adjustable Kick Drum/Guitar Amp Mic Stand) to record piano playing. Would SM57 fit to this sockmount? And, would this shockmount fit to the stand mentioned above? Further more, would this set be ok for recording upright piano? I am just net very experienced with this, and my piano is not positioned for the usual boom stand. kind regards, Jon

A: The 57s diameter is probably too large for that mount.

Q: 10. Will a AT4033a microphone fit on this shockmount?

A: No this shock mount was design to fit handheld and shotgun microphones, the AT4033a is a recording microphone and it will fit better on the shock mount in the link bellow. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1352188-REG/audio_technica_at8449a_shockmount.html

[Yes] I have used audio-technical cables and mics for years now and they have never disappointed! I feel that as a brand they are typically not the most expensive but perform like the most expensive. This is my 5th of this cable and am extremely happy.

[Black] I've had some trouble with cheaper XLR cables in the past, so I figured I'd spend -slightly- more and so far have been very happy with the results. No complaints to note, I'll update this if anything breaks prematurely.

[1 lb] Bought more expensive cables that sound no better and cheaper ones that broke down. These are the perfect fit, real Neutrik connectors and robust shielding make for a quality cable that can sustain the rigors of live use.
