The HDMI Cable Continuity Tester - Digitalinx Handheld Devicefrom HDMI Cable Continuity Tester - Digitalinx Handheld Deviceis a compact, handheld cable open/short tester that measures the continuity of each of the 19 wires in an HDMI 2.0 cable, including HDMI Ethernet/Return Audio wires. The status of all the wires is indicated individually across 19 LEDs.

The tester consists of a transmitter and receiver. The benefit of a dual unit system is that you can test cables installed inside of walls by plugging one end into the transmitter and the other into the receiver, whereas a single-unit system requires both ends to be plugged into one device.

Only a single 9V battery (not included) is required for powering both units. The battery installs into the transmitter and power is communicated over the HDMI cable.

A: The banana plug inputs on the unit are specifically made to connect the included probes, which can then be used to test continuity with any type of cable connector.

A: According to the manual, there is no mention of dual operation being impossible at the same time when using the Vanco Handheld 4K HDMI Tester.

A: Yes, the Whirlwind MCT7 Multi Connector Cable Tester is capable of testing both 50 and 75 ohm BNC coaxial cables.

A: It would show, according to the LED lights, which wire is connected to which pin.

Q: 9. can it test cables that are already placed in the walles and the tester can only be at one side and my camera at the other side ?

A: No. The unit is designed to test cables by attaching both ends to the tester.

Q: 10. Will this test active HDMI cables, that is, cables with Redmere technology?

[HDMI 2.0] Small, light weight, in expensive audio testing tool. Detect audio feeds and avoid finding you had a bad cable out of phase. We did and paid the price. Never again. A must have for field production. 5

[0.46 lb] This is going to last a long time! I’ve only had it a week and have tested at least a dozen cables that have been in question. Only one bad so far. I’ve used a volt meter forever, but always wanted a tester. This way you can have the cables plugged in and move them around to see if there is an iffy connection or wire. The LED’s are bright and will tell you exactly what pin is not working. Exactly what I’ve been looking for at a great price. Mackie has great gear and I’ve had great luck with mixers and speakers over the years. I’d recommend this product again and again. 5
