Q: 2. Can i connect 8 Mac Mini to 1 monitor/keyboard/mouse with this or do I need to by additional equipment?

A: Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and we apologize for the inconvenience. We would need to know more about your setup. To better service you and understand your set up, please feel to contact our customer support at 1-866-946-4327 or email us: support@iogear.com. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

Q: 3. Is it compatible with #IOGXD24KIT or/and #IOGXS24KIT?

A: As per the manufacturer, the rack ears that are compatible with the IOGEAR 4-Port 4K Dual View HDMI KVMP Switch with USB Hub and Audio are the BH #IOGXS24KIT • MFR #GXS24KIT.

Q: 4. Can this be used to connect a iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2019) to an older iMac model to use as a second monitor?

A: Yes you can use this to connect to a 2019 21.5 inch imac

Q: 5. can i use this cable to connect a PC to an LG 5k ultrafine monitor? It's ok if I lose some resolution. I just want the PC to be able to connect to and drive the monitor

A: If your PC can support video via USB-C and your LG monitor has a Displayport input, then you can use the IOGEAR USB Type-C to DisplayPort 4K Cable.

Q: 6. Does this cable work with HDCP content?

A: It is the device, not the cable, which influences HDCP, so the IOGEAR USB Type-C to DisplayPort 4K Cable (6.6') will not influence whether you are able to stream or display HDCP content.

Q: 7. This will duplicate a 4k@60 stream to two monitors at the same time, correct? Every other splitter I can find is an MST hub and can't do this.

A: According to MuxLab this splitter will duplicate identical DisplayPort 1.2a content from one DisplayPort connector to two monitors. DisplayPort 1.2a supports 3840 x 2160 pixels at 60Hz. This should send two 4K streams to both monitors.

Q: 8. Are powered switches like this more reliable than passive switches?

A: The IOGEAR 3-Port True DCI/UHD 4K HDMI Switch will be very reliable. But if you compare it with a button-based HDMI switch, like the model below from Kramer, it would be a more reliable, better-quality switch. Kramer SWT3-41-H 4x1 4K60 HDMI Switcher BH #KRSWT341H

Q: 9. Will this support FHD at 240Hz?

A: No, the IOGEAR USB Type-C to DisplayPort 4K Cable (6.6') BH #IOG2LU3CDP12 does not support FHD at 240Hz. You can use the IOGEAR USB Type-C to DisplayPort 8K Cable (6.6') BH #IOG2LU3CDPV2 instead to achieve FHD 240Hz.

Q: 10. Does this cable works with a BenQ SW240?

A: If your computer has a USB-C port on it with Display output, then yes. You will be able to use this USB-C to Displayport cable.

[5 VDC] Unlike many KVMs, this thing actually does what it says it can. I'm running two 4K monitors at 60Hz with absolutely no stability issues between a Mac and an Ubuntu machine. Will definitely go for another ATEN box if my needs change.

[5.35 lb] I have had no problems with Pearstone HDMI cables. Since I use a laptop and move around to various second screens (Once you go dual, you never go back!) sometimes the 3 footer is just not long enough. So I just bought a 10 foot Pearstone cable from B&H to handle the problem. I still use this cable for the short runs.

[0 to 80%] I first spoke with B&H Photo tech support regarding using this with Lorex NVR.
They thought it should work fine and it did.
Quite happy with this KVMP, I have 3 Surveillance recorders hooked to a 24 monitor, mouse and speakers.
Saves a lot of space and the expense of a monitor, speakers and microphone for each recorder.

[4] I found the IOGEAR 4 port HDMI KVMP switch to be very useful and works great with my Samsung Smart Dock! I bought it about 6 months ago and I am very happy with it. The only issue is that because it works off the usb ports for switching between devices, depending on the device, there is an occasional lag. But it never lags when I switch from or to my Samsung smart dock that I connect my Note 3 to.

[0 to 80%] I was looking for a KVM switch that supported dual 4K@60 monitors and found this. Works great, and with the keyboard shortcuts, I can keep the switch under the desk, out of sight.

For my setup, I have my work MacBook Pro and my personal Windows laptop connected to their own docks, and each dock connects to this KVM switch. I then have the monitors, keyboard/mouse, and webcam connected to this switch. With three keystrokes, my whole setup switches between the two laptops, which is just what I wanted.

[0 to 80%] I use this on my surveillance system with 3 NVR and a workstation.
It works great, especially like the ability to share the speakers and microphone between all 4 pieces of gear.

[0 to 80%] This product replaced a Trendnet Displayport KVM which I didn't like so much that I spent the money to replace it. In short, the unit works well and is reliable, it's expandible, looks good and doesn't have any anoying features.

I have 3 coputers that needed to be switched and two monitors. This unit is expandible so by adding a second one, you can control up to 4 monitors. Didn't need that flexibility and didn't appreciate it till the pandemic when my wife started working from home and her job required 3 screens, with a fourth being a bonus. That expandibility became a real bonus and it's nice to have because you never know when you will need it.

The unit remembers how you lay out the screens. I place and size some screens to open on one monitor and others on the other monitors. When switching between computers, turning them on and off, all the program open in that consistent way. No need to reconfigure anything.

There are no anoying or distracting features such as flashing lights like I had with my Trendnet unit. Unobstrusive at home or at the office. It costs more than other units but you get cables included and that saves a bunch, including itme, if you have to buy them on your own. The displayport cables should be longer but the rest of the cables were fine. I have not used the speaker output or the microphone input so can't comment on these.

[4] I have 3 computers. All are running 24/7. My main rig (email/word processing etc)has it's own dedicated monitor but my other 2 which are the faster machines are my photographic server and processing rigs. As I only need to see my photo server display occasionally, I decided to use a KVM switch. I had a Belkin (VGA) switch which I tried. That really was a piece of junk. So I bought this one (from B&H) and it was a breeze to install and so far has performed flawlessly. I have had no problems with Windows 7 updates as reported by another reviewer. Yes it is a little expensive but, guess what, you get what you pay for (most of the time!)
