The D.A.S. Event 218A is a powered, dual 18" bass-reflex subwoofer system designed to provide extended bass response to the Event line array series full-range cabinets, and is well suited for rental houses, bars, clubs, mobile DJs, or any pro audio application. The Event 218A utilizes a 3600W Class-D amplifier to power each of the 18" woofers to provide a frequency response of 32 to 125 Hz with a peak SPL output of 140 dB.

The birch plywood enclosure is finished with black ISO-flex paint and includes four handles (2 per side) for ease in transport. The rear panel offers two XLR inputs, two XLR loop-thru outputs, a level control, a 80 to 125 Hz low-pass filter control, and a dedicated polarity switch. When using two or three subwoofers, a cardioid switch is included to help reduce the bass response at the rear of the stacks, cutting down on stage volume and feedback issues. The top panel offers a pole-mount socket for use with 35mm speaker poles for mounting full-range speakers. Additionally, the D.A.S. Action 218A features a PowerCon input and pass-thru to daisy-chain power to multiple subwoofers and ships with a power cable.

A: No, brackets are not included with the sub. The JBL VRX-AR-II Array Frame (B&H # JBVRXAFII) is the optional suspension frame for the VRX918SP. The system includes the center frame, two side arms, four quick-release pins, two drop levers, and a pair of 3/8" shackles.

Q: 4. Does this have an M20 pole thread or a pole cup on top?

A: Yes, the Mackie SR18S 18" 1600W Professional Powered Subwoofer has an integrated pole cup on its top.

[6 A ] Purchased for use in Nigeria. They use 230V 50Hz there, but this system is designed to accommodate that. We just had to get the necessary power cord and now it's working great on the other side of the world!! 5

[Class-D] I purchased three SRX815P and two SRX subs for my church. We have been using them for about two months and I could not be happier. I was planning to purchase the PRX series or potentially a different brand but the first time I heard the the SRX series I had to have them even though they were outside of my budget. I have had multiple comments on how great they sound. I am very happy. 5

[Class-D] I bought this for my house and am blown away with its performance. I have very high expectations, but this just took it to another level, in fact I see myself purchasing a 2nd one. I don't like my neighbors so with a 2nd one I should see for sale signs going up soon. One note for any of you that are installing this in your home, you will run into a problem if your trying to run it out of the back of your AVR, the signal to the sub will not work as it is not strong enough. I had to purchase a small mixer, ran the sub ouput from my AVR to the mixer, and a 1/4" jack from the mixer to the Sub. Dont use a XLR connector is it is a balanced cable and does not work as well as a 1/4" unbalanced as I had to plug it into a RCA jack in my wall which is unbalanced as well. With the mixer this sub just flat kills it. It is amazing and I highly recommend it. 5 Stars. 5

[6 A ] We use this for multimedia performances and it's just excellent in terms of balance and range. I can have a laptop connected via bluetooth, several wireless mics, and least one instrument (violin or more) and it never fails to deliver a complex sound in a sizable space. Very easy to work with live and you can add a ton to it. It's compact, easy to transport and has a built-in storage compartment for cables. 5

[140 dB] It sounds fantastic. So that's great. However, when shipped from the factory, 4 of the DIP switches in the back were switched to 'off,' preventing basically everything from working. This was frustrating, as, when nothing works, you tend to think the thing is actually broken. Since resolving that issue, however, the subwoofer has been nothing but pure pleasure. It works perfectly with Eve's SC205 speakers. 5
