[8 Ohms] I have a 3-way crossover inside my drum monitor and blew the speakers that were in it so I needed to replace the low end and the mid range speakers and I am very happy I chose this midrange speaker for the replacement. It works and sounds great on stage for my drummer. I have not blown it out as I am pushing 750 watts to it at the peak and it works good. I am very happy with this speaker.

[2.5" (63.5mm)] Arrived double boxed in perfect condition. It's the best rated power conditioner I've been able to find and enough power at 15 amps to run a Threadripper Pro Workstation rig. I use a Furman AC 215A on my FV43U monitor and a small integrated amp for sound.

[8 Ohms] Everyone who has commented about these speaker talk about how much clearer the sound is than our old speakers were. We are very pleased with the over all quality and performance of these speakers. I had some other speaker picked out for our new system and when I consulted with B & H tech about items I had selected they recommended these speakers and I agree they are great. The only complaint I would have about them is that they don't have software for android or PC that allows you to connect to them wirelessly and I don't have any apple items.

[101.6] I have only used these speakers once but suffice it to say I am very impressed with sound level and quality of sound!!

I play in a three piece wedding band, drums, bass and guitar. 

I had a gig at an outside venue and decided to test these speakers out there.  I had been led to believe the venue was smaller and guests would number about 150.  When I got there the place was bigger than I expected and there were a bit more than 200 guests. To top it off, the dance floor was located a ways from the band.

When I fired them up and did the sound check I knew that the speakers were going to handle the event just fine.

I used a bass drum mic and an overhead for the drums.  I also put the guitar and  and a little bass guitar through the speakers.  These speakers put out some surprising  volume and quality sound. The vocals sounded very nice and clear.

Granted, these speakers are and upgrade from the $800 to $900 per speaker I was using, but nevertheless these Yamaha bring the volume and quality of sound that IS the next level. I can only Imagine how they sound with the Yamaha subs which I plan on getting soon.

I am very satisfied with my purchase. And bottom line, these speakers make my band sound better, and that is good for business.

[5.71] I purchased these speakers to replace the 12 inch woofers that were in two PA 121 cabinets originally sold by Mackie Industrial. These were manufactured by RCF in Italy and rebranded as Mackie. The original 12s had basically rotted away and were unusable. I emailed Eminence and they confirmed that this would be a good replacement choice. The build quality of these Eminence speakers is very impressive and professional. When it came to testing, I was very pleasantly surprised! Punchy lows, very clean mids. In my system I have the cabinets set up for bi-amping. The crossover point is set at 3000 HZ. I would describe the sound as very musical and accurate. I also own a pair of QSC K 10s. I did an A-B comparison and found that the Mackie speakers with the eminence 12s sounded very similar to the K 10s but a little cleaner and much, much louder. The efficiency and output level is almost unbelievable at this price point. (about 300w available to each 12 inch and about 50w to each horn) The first time I had an opportunity to use these speakers was at an outdoor 5K race as an announce system at the finish line. We were covering an area about the size of two football fields with several thousand people. The sound was great and the customer was very happy. It sounded like a much larger system. One additional benefit, the cabinets are now noticeably lighter than they were before. That's always a plus! I highly recommend the speaker; you will not be disappointed.

[2.5" (63.5mm)] Finally got to use these at a gig just this weekend after purchasing them last summer. I've used them a bit before but really never have had a chance to really air them out and see what they can do.

I had these outside up against a wall on a patio outdoors and had to provide audio for a wedding, both the ceremony and the reception. The ceremony itself was about 100 yards from the speakers. No problems at all, these handled that job with ease.


I haven't invested in a subwoofer yet, and with all honesty I wouldn't get the Yamaha subs to go with this when I do (JTR Captivator 218PRO is 3dB down at 27hz for anyone reading this) but it really didn't matter at all. Once it was time to get down and boogie, these speakers brought it with crystal clarity. I still had a ways to go before distortion and we were just rocking the whole mountain valley in Lincoln, MT.


Truly awesome speakers. No distortion at all at insane volume levels with some heavy dance music. Great bass and the mids/highs are crisp and clear. I can't recommend these enough nor the service I received here at BHPhoto. Top quality company and products!

[21 lb] This is a great replacement speaker in my drum monitor. I used it to replace a blown speaker in my drum monitor for onstage monitoring. I needed to replace 2 of them and they work out great and can handle the power that I am pushing to them so my drummer can here his kick drum over the vocals.

[8 Ohms] I needed something fast for a public talk and I have no expertise in AV. This is basically a karaoke machine with 2 mics, super fast set up and was good to go in 5-10 minutes. It is completely adequate for speaking engagements. The speaker is a little larger than I would have liked but it was a good purchase for novices who just need to get up and going asap.
