The Libec ZFC-L LANC Zoom Focus Control Sony Canon Camerasenables remote REC start/stop, zoom, and focus control for LANC-equipped Canon and Sony camcorders (certain models may have limited or no compatibility). It connects to the camcorder via a 2.3' long cable terminated with a 2.5mm sub mini plug. The zoom speed can be adjusted by tilting the rocker. Its inverted switch allows you to control the zoom direction. The control unit features a clamp that easily mounts onto pipes up to 1.8" in diameter.

A: no it will not work on the DVX, the DVX does not use the LANC protocol it uses the panasonic protocol. you will need the VariZoom VZ-ROCK-PZFI Zoom, Focus, and Iris Control for Select Panasonic Cameras

A: This is not compatible with the CX230.

[0.385 lb] Returned one I did not prefer and got this one upon recommendation of B&H support staff. Simple, works well, and at this point reliable. Works flawlessly with SONY FDR AX-700. Highly recommended. 5

[0.385 lb] Works great with the Canon XF400. Smaller and lighter than expected. Mounted it on the pan handle of a Libec TH-X Tripod Head, about half-way up, just above the grip. Smooth Zoom. No delay. For Focus, you must be in Manual Focus mode on the camcorder. Record button works fine. 5

[0.385 lb] At about half the price of the Sony version I did not have high expectations. Many of these devices have had their issues. But this controller is lightweight for better camera/head balance and has a very good rocker for zoom and bonus, a smaller rocker for focus which works even if the camera is in autofocus mode. Previous Sony compact 3 chip camcorders, such as the PXW-X200 used a miniature Fujinon lens connector that worked with conventional analog zoom servos. By switching to LANC for their latest camera Sony has opened up other options such as focus, a must if you are shooting with a tall tripod as Im often doing. 5

[0.385 lb] Nice compact ergonomic design. I bought it for my Canon XA45 camcorder and have no complaints. I haven't tried all the features, but the zoom and shutter work as advertised and those are the two features I purchased the remote for. 5

[Tripod Clamp] Perfect for my use case - needed a focus control for my Canon C100s for concerts/events. Took me a bit to figure out - but you need to have AF on in the lens but off in the body to use this. Allows for smooth, small focus adjustments with all of my autofocus lenses. Record Button works perfectly as well. Not using the zoom rocker currently so no opinion on it yet - but will be trying it out with some Canon XA20 camcorders on a shoot later this year.
