The Shure AD2/B87A Wireless Microphone Transmitter Beta 87Ais a digital handheld wireless microphone transmitter compatible with Axient Digital series receivers.

The AD2/B87A comes equipped with the Beta 87A condenser capsule designed to withstand extreme sound pressure levels, while still delivering a remarkably smooth frequency response for vocal performers and presenters. The capsule features a supercardioid polar pattern that offers excellent rejection of off-axis background noise, helping to reduce feedback.

The transmitter operates in a single 146 MHz ultrawide UHF bandwidth with selectable 2/10/35mW RF output power and a transmission range up to 330'. It provides up to 8 hours of operation on two AA batteries and up to 9 hours with an SB900A lithium-ion rechargeable battery (available separately).

With a durable, moisture-resistant, lightweight aluminum case, the AD2/B87A transmitter delivers pristine audio quality and RF performance, AES 256-bit encryption for secure transmission, and advanced rechargeability options, making it ideal for high-profile, sound-reinforcement applications.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. which Mic is better for talk, the shure beta87a or the shure Beta58A?

A: This is very dependent on the person who will be using it and also the area you will be using it in. Female vocals will sound very different than male vocals. Regardless on the frequency response alone, the Beta87a being a condenser it will give you much more clarity and more definition for speech. where the Beta58a will give you a more well rounded sound and will be better in louder environments. It very much depends on who and where you will be using these microphones.

Q: 2. This is one mic per receiver right? The receiver can't have 2 mics simultaneously, correct?

A: The receiver in this QLXD system can only receive 1 transmitter at a time. For a dual channel receiver system of similar quality, you'd want this ULXD2D receiver, BH #SHULXD4DH50 with two separately purchased transmitters BH #SHLXD2B58H50.

Q: 3. Is the RPW 120 87A Capsule compatible with ULXD KSM 9 microphone?? And is it a good decision to make? Will there be a significant difference in sound? Pls help?

A: It is compatible and will offer an improvement in overall performance.

Q: 4. Can this hand held mic connect to J10 receiver?

A: Yes, the Shure BLX2/B58 Handheld Wireless Microphone Transmitter with Beta 58A Capsule (J11: 596 to 616 MHz) can be used with an existing J10 BLX receiver. The following link from Shure specifies overlapping compatible frequencies between the two ranges and provides further details: https://bit.ly/3s9zDLr

Q: 5. Does this microphone has an on/off switch like Shure SM58S?

A: No. The Shure Beta 58A Handheld Supercardioid Dynamic Microphone BH #SHBETA58A has no switch.

Q: 6. Is this compatible with AXT wireless system?

A: Yes, these are compatible with every Shure handheld transmitter with the exception of the BLX and GLX-D Series.

Q: 7. isn this compatable with qlx?

A: Yes, the Shure RPW120 Beta 87A Supercardioid Condenser Capsule for Handheld Transmitter is compatible for use with wireless handheld transmitters from Shure's QLX product line.

Q: 8. Made in?

A: Made in Mexico.

Q: 9. Can I use it for my glxd4 z2 beta 87a?

A: The microphone capsules on the GLXD2 Handheld transmitters are fully integrated (hard-wired into the transmitter) so if you are looking to switch out your current mic capsule for another, this is not possible in the GLXD Series. Your only option in that case would be to purchase another GLXD2 transmitter all together, which can in turn be used with your existing GLXD4 receiver. If you might be looking to replace the capsule because you believe it may be defective, then it is best to seek repair under warranty from Shure (additional details regarding warranty coverage and procedure for return can be found on a href= http://Shure.com target= _blank Shure.com/a).

Q: 10. Where is it made? ( made in )

A: This item is made in Mexico.

[1.75 lb] We have this mic in addition to a couple of Shure GLXDs with Beta 58 mics. We like those mics, but this one really blows them out of the water!

[Yes] The Ulxd series from Shure is incredibly fast to setup and sync. After using the uhf-r, these are just way better. You also get 3 transmit power levels in this handle which helps out when your antennas are far away from stage. They are metal housed and very strong. The display is very easy to read, ALTHOUGH, I do like the display on the SLXD better, especially on the transmitter. SLXD has better contrast and easier to read. I have also used the Dante on the Ulxd series. Works great. I have 6 in a rack and one cat6 cable puts them all on the network. No xlr needed if you have a Dante enabled mixer. The available frequencies after a scan in WWB6 are usually around 40-50 in Los Angeles in the g50 band, which is plenty for me. The only thing I would like to see Shure improve on is the battery tray contacts. My frantic customers have broken them several times jamming batteries in sideways. Maybe curl the sides of the contacts more so when they do try and sideways insert it might take the battery without snapping off. Other than that, these handles have been rock solid in the many live performances I have used them on.

[145 dB] One of our mics disappeared the day before an important event. B&H had the unit in stock, and I was able to pick it up on my way home! These mics are sturdy, easy to use and sync with the multiple receivers in our facility, and we can get good levels before feedback.
