Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How does this lens compare to the Nikon 135mm DC f/2? I have the Nikon. Is it worth purchasing the sigma?

A: The Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens for Nikon F would be a good choice for sports shooting, or shallow depth of field portraits. The biggest advantage over the Nikon f/2, is the f/1.8 may be a little sharper to the edges, when wide open.

Q: 2. Does it work with A7r3 all autofocus function?

A: Yes, it will be fully compatible with all autofocus functions.

Q: 3. Can this be mounted on standard fe without an adapter?

A: As the Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens for Sony E is a full-frame lens desigend for the Sony E-mount lens mount, yes, it would fit on the Sony E-mount lens mount used on Sony's full-frame cameras without a lens mount adapter. The "FE" in Sony's lens name indicate it is a full-frame lens designed for the Sony E-mount lens mount, but the name of the lens mount is simply the Sony E-mount, not Sony FE lens mount.

Q: 4. do you have international warranty?because i live hong kong

A: Sigma Warranty is regional.

Q: 5. Has anyone used this lens on a Nikon Z6II/Z7II with the FTZ adapter? How is the AF speed?

A: It is our understanding that the speed of this lens when mounted on a Nikon F mount DSLR would be the same when using it with a Nikon FTZ adapter on a Z6II/Z7II body.

Q: 6. Would eye af work with this lens?

A: Yes, Sigma 135mm F1.8 for Sony E supports eye focus.

Q: 7. OK,Hear is one for you all.I'm interested in the new sigma 135mm Art lens.I see on the B&H site that listed under accessory's for the lens is the sigma TC-1401 1.4X teleconverter. Is the converter compatible with this new 135 art lens ?. It is not listed on the compatibility list under Sigmas list on the B&H site.I'm just interested in knowing. Thanks.

A: No, the 135mm art lens is NOT compatible with any teleconverters.

Q: 8. What is material it made of? Aluminum or plastic?

A: Sigma LH880-03 240 Lens Hood for 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art Lens is made of plastic material.

Q: 9. HAs anyone tried using this lens for tracking fast subjects on a D500? I prefer prime lenses and I am trying to decide between this and a 70-200 in the same price range.

A: I've been using it for Volleyball with a D5 and D850 which I think has the same AF system as the D500? No problems - great lens! But unless low light is an issue, a 70-200 gives you a lot more range.

Q: 10. What is the closest focusing distance?

A: The minimum focus distance for the Sigma 135mm F/1.8 is 2.87' / 87.5 cm.

[0.16 lb] Exactlty what I've come to expect from sigmas art series line. Its a well built tank of a lens with amazing quality optics. Calling 1.8 sharp is a total understatememt on this lens....its beautiful and the resulting bokeh is buttery silk...amazing. Hats off to sigma for finally releasing this focal length in their art series. In the Nikon world there have been no good 135mm lens autofocus options for years (nikons 135 last being released in the 90s) and thats no longer the case with the release of this lens...

[0.16 lb] What I have learned after one week of using the Sigma 135. Again, the lens is just first class. Learning curve for me. The first time I changed the lens to manual focus, I just went brain dead. I neglected to switch the camera body to manual as well. The lens still focused manually, However when I switched the lens back to full auto the lens would not focus up, no way no how. I remembered reading this in another review on the New Sigma 85mm with the same problem. (DON'T SEND) the lens back because it won't auto focus. The FIX is turn off the power switch on the camera body. Then remove the battery. Reinsert the battery and the camera and the lens will talk to each other again. I understand this could be a pain for some camera owners. However I have a vertical battery grip on my camera and removing the battery takes just seconds. I wan't to emphasize that this was operator error for sending confusing info to the lens, so it needed to be rebooted. I hope this will help some of you with lens operation. I just love this lens. Photo #1 my cat full length full frame. #2. 200% crop of the same image.

[0.16 lb] Let me preface this by saying that I'm an event and portrait photographer. I use it on my a7rii with an MC-11 adapter. I shoot a lot of candids for my job and the af definitely helps. The eye af is a great asset and works with this lens! It melts the background and is tact sharp wide open. It gives you that 3D look, your subjects just pop! For portraits all I can say is wow. It has pretty much spoiled me. I got the 85mm 1.8 FE and I prefer this much more than it despite the weight difference. If you're looking to get this lens all I can say is it is worth it and if not it will grow on you. :)

[0.16 lb] Very sharp lens! The bokeh is ridiculous! Much more creamy background than my 85@F1.8 and 70-200 @ F4. Attached pictures of my cat. PS: pictures have been blurred sharpened slightly with photoshop.

[0.16 lb] May well be the sharpest lens I've ever owned...and the list is long and distinguished. AF is snappier than i thought it might be. Bokeh is amazing. Hit rate even in low light dance action was great as well.
