[Aluminum] B&H had the exact part I needed. I’ve bought many parts, including this
Shure BLX1 Wireless Bodypack, and have been extremely satisfied with them all. They have a great selection of electronics at a great price!

[Omnidirectional] Just used four of these on a show and they performed beautifully.

Super easy to use, great battery life with NiMh AAs and they sound excellent. Easily got 7 hours on 10mw, probably around 3-4 on 35mw but 10mw is more than enough for most situations, and when I had to use 35mw mode, the extra output power really makes a difference so changing batteries a few times is fine with me.

The automatic gain is no joke, it just works to the point where I even forgot about, I just kept rolling and only had to touch the gain on my mixer. You never hear any artifacts or pumping and the dynamics of the speakers voice are always naturally preserved, it really feels like the gain knob is being adjusted in real time as opposed to any sort of compression or limiting.

The only thing I would knock it for is it's size, it's pretty big (think same thickness as a G4 but a little taller), which makes it tough for some outfits for narrative work, but I'm not going to take a star off because it's built like a tank and feels like you could hammer a nail in with it.

It's also significantly cheaper than any other transmitter from any other system. That means you can break into the Axient ecosystem very affordably (relatively speaking) and get the performance you need even if it means having to do an ankle rig.

If you can go for the ADX1 or ADX1M, I would say go for it, but considering the price difference, the AD1s are a fantastic choice.

[145 dB] Shure SM58 continues to be a reliable workhorse. Great sound and singers love them. Also, the staff at B&H was EXCELLENT. As they always do, they were very helpful in explaining the products and making recommendations with NO pressure to buy. They are my go to resource for all audio/video products.

[2 / 10 / 35 mW] No need to set gain. Wide RF range. And a low price for a transmitter.

[Omnidirectional] works perfect w/ our existing receiver, a lot of echo, that I need to work on, either area too small or speakers just too much for the room. but it has great pick up.

[2 / 10 / 35 mW] I already had a PG wireless receiver, and this mic works perfectly with it. I talked first with Shure, to be certain of the frequency compatibility. 1st gig out, the receiver was located at the mix position, about 70 feet from the stage. There was no fade out, or interference... it just worked. 5 stars.

[Proprietary] Used with a headset microphone, and also with adapter cord to a keyboard. Transmitter has adjustable gain, so it can be set to match the handheld transmitter also on the same channel. Usually get 10-15 hours per pair of alkaline AA batteries.
