[1.56 lb] First I should point out that I've had no experience with other available LANC compatible controllers. I read reviews and considered a few over the last couple of years but did not buy. I picked up the VZRock to help with one of two cameras I recently used side by side to video a Holiday program. After the fact, I wish I had bought two. VZRock made it so easy to adjust zoom while panning (or not) without removing a hand from the tripod. All other control options were fully compatible as well. I was very impressed. The zoom rocker is very responsive and allows much better control than my cameras short throw sliding controller. Control buttons are also laid out in an easy to access manner especially when considering the thumb is used most often. The mounting bracket adjustment allows for a variety of tripod handle thicknesses. I suppose there will always be some way to improve a product but for now I can not think of one for the VZRock.

There's even a record button on the module. No longer will you have to reach up, take your hands off the tripod and adjust the zoom, iris or focus. It installs to any tripod handle, quick and easy!

Tripod operation with the camera itself is difficult. If you operate the zoom lever with your index and middle fingers, you are forced to operate the focus ring with your* Then, you have to move your hands around to press the record button. The designers of the HVX200 and DVX100B haven't make tripod operation the easiest thing. This controller solves virtually all of those problems.This device gives you multiple options, and they work well.-You can leave auto-iris and auto-focus, and smoothly operate the zoom and tripod with one hand.-You can switch to manual iris/focus, and operate everything with two hands on this controller.-You can operate the zoom with this controller, and operate the camera's focus ring with your other hand.This controller's zoom control is sensitive. It's also large, which means you can operate it in cold weather with big gloves on; that's a plus for sports shooters out there, or any other outdoor shooter.The focus control's white ring and reference line allow you to make markings for custom focus moves.Overall, this is a great unit for the price.

[40" / 101.6 cm] I have been shooting youth football and most games have to be shot on the sideline. This controller has made my shooting so much easier. I have to follow the kids and at times they run right by me. No more missing the action. No matter what I shoot, I won't leave home with out it.
