Ideal for bringing distant objects in close to make detailed observations or easy identification, the Sun Optics 10x42 WP Roof Prism Binocularsutilize BAK4 roof prisms and fully multi-coated optics to produce bright and clear high-contrast images with accurate color and improved clarity. This model features a wide apparent angle of view to help offset the appearance of visible hand-shake common with higher power binoculars. Their larger 42mm objectives enable their use in challenging light such as at dawn and dusk, when many animals are active, or when trying to peer into dense forests with thick canopies.

Complementing the optical performance is a lightweight and durable aluminum-alloy chassis that is wrapped in a protective rubber armor. The armoring has a matte finish to reduce glare and helps to provide a slip-resistant grip - especially in cold and wet conditions. Each optical tube is nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme temperature changes or environmental conditions. A large rubberized focus wheel makes them easy to manipulate, even when wearing gloves, and twist-up rubber eyecups allow for comfortable use with or without eyewear.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what are the dimensions of the binoculas?

A: Length 5 Width when folded 4.25 Depth 2.5 Some might think a bit bulky/heavy for birding, but these are far and away the best binoculars I've ever owned. As good as $500+ glasses that are half-again as big. Highly recommend.

Q: 2. Is there anything like this that can also record video & has a range finder? Thanks for any leads

A: Currently, there are no similar products to the Canon 10x42 L IS WP Image Stabilized Binoculars (BH # CA10X42L) that offer recording and a rangefinder.

Q: 3. I lost my manual. Where can i download one?

A: You probably can get one from B&H - if not Google Canon and you should be able to get one there.

Q: 4. Is there any such thing as lens caps for these bad boys or would the best bet be lens hoods?

A: Yes, the Canon 10x42 L IS WP Image Stabilized Binoculars can take standard 52mm lens caps.

Q: 5. does this pair of binoculars have a case?

A: It does come with a nylon case.

Q: 6. Description says tripod mountable with adapter. Is this thru?

A: Yes it is tripod mountable but you would need an adapter such as this: https://bhpho.to/2luGUXL

Q: 7. Does this come with the Canon USA warranty?

A: The Canon 10x42 L IS WP Image Stabilized Binocular comes with the Canon Limited 3-Year Warranty.

Q: 8. I added lens hoods to protect the objectives but now the binoculars no longer fit in the case. Any recommendations for an alternative one?

A: I recommend the following: two 52 mm screw-in UV filters (I went for the B+W No. 010 MRC Master filters [a bit of "overkill," but they are excellent) and a pair of Canon 52 mm "pinch-style" lens caps (which fit securely when used with the B+W filters). I find this combination works well, looks good, and allows easy insertion of the entire assembly into the case. I have never understood the need for bulky lens hoods in this application, since the optics are very flare-resistant in the first place, and the filters protect the front surface of the objective lenses at all times. For the B+H filters see: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?q=B%2BH%2052mm%20UV%20Master%20filters&sts=ma For the Canon 52 mm pinch-style lens caps see: See: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/883410-REG/Canon_6315b001_E_52_II_Lens_Cap.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/883410-REG/Canon_6315b001_E_52_II_Lens_Cap.html

Q: 9. Whats in the box?

A: Binocular and case. Wide Canon strap for the binocular, plain skinny strap for the case. AA batteries, objective and eyepiece lens caps, a tether for the objective caps, manual, registration card. No cleaning cloth.

Q: 10. are these FULLY MULTICOATED lenses?

A: Yes, the Opticron 6x30 Savanna WP Porro Prism Binoculars feature Fully Multicoated lenses.

[4.2 mm] Primary use is terrestrial viewing, wildlife watching, plane spotting and astronomy.

I was skeptical about the IS feature and spent many months in analysis paralysis until I finally pulled the trigger and purchased these. I knew the red line Canon optics would be perfect in all aspects ( clarity, CA and field flatness -- and they are) but it was the IS I was skeptical of. Hindsight I wasted much time worrying over this as the IS feature basically turns a jittery view into a static picture where you can discern details you never knew were there, whether it be a open star cluster, the letters on the side of a aircraft at altitude or the fine details of a small warbler high up in a tree. Think of it like this, if you were viewing through regular binoculars and wanted a better detailed view you would rest them on something solid or mount them on a tripod, with the Canon IS, you simply click the button and wala the view is stunningly steady and details you never knew were there pop out. To say IS is a game changer would be an accurate statement.

So, as B&H askes, are there Things that aren't so great about it ? Well most every one gripes about the lense caps, and they aren't that great, but there are solutions easily implemented if they bother you, me personally I remove them to view, then when finished I replace then and put the binoculars back in the case, mine seem to stay on just fine but the objective covers can be a bit fiddly. Thats it in my opinion.

Bottom line, if you're looking for a great set of binoculars stop looking and get these, 10x42L IS and you wont be dissapointed or have any buyers remorse.

[42 mm] After 2wks of use with these, stargazing, long range site seeing, birding, and nature watching here in NYC, I tell you that the images are STUNNING!! The colors are BEAUTIFULLY VIBRANT, VIVID, Super Sharp, star images in the night sky are breathtaking, hard to put down once in my hands. I put Canon lens filters to protect the front elements and a heavy duty Canon neck strap seen in photos now it has a home next to my Leica Ultravid HD+ 12x50s, 8x42s Noctivids and Zeiss 15x56 Conquest HD all from B&H :) Thanks.
