A: No, it's by far the worst design choice on the cage. Otherwise it's a great cage.

Q: 4. With this cage on the camera, can I still mount the camera with a metabones adapter onto a tripod? Meabones has a thread on the bottom that I attach the plate to and I want to know if the cage gets in the way of the plate.

A: While there should be no problem assembling the camera, cage and lens adapter, it is suggested the a more solid set up is by using the following piece, the Movcam Riser Block for Sony A7S Camera Cage B&H # MOCSSA7S. This supports the Metabones and keeps the camera from moving in the cage.

Q: 5. Is it compatible with the a7s I?

A: The MOV-303-2400 kit is only for the A7 II, A7R II and A7S II. Q: 8. Will this work with the Canon Rebel series? I know I would need to get a different dummy battery. I have a Rebel T6i.

A: We're afraid not. This product is designed specifically for the a7 II series of cameras. It will not work with the Rebel T6i, not only because of the battery connection but also because this system is meant to turn a Clean HDMI Output to SDI and the T6i does not offer a Clean HDMI output.

Q: 9. Will this cage also work with the original A7s?

A: No the cage is design for the bigger e mount mirror less body such as the a7rii and a7sii. I think movcam has a cage for the original a7s.

Q: 10. Is there a way to adapt this to the a7sii with a battery grip?

A: The cage will not work with the extended battery adaptors.

[Yes] I got an A7SII. After a few shoots borrowing rod support, I realized I needed my own support for a Matte Box, and Follow Focus, and Shoulder Support. It has 1/4 20 threaded holes for accessories, and a handle for carrying, and low mode shots. I use the riser block and rod support on every shoot I do now. 5

[Yes] The video record button on the Sony A7 is in a terrible hard to reach spot. This thing mounts easily and has not come loose at all. Its one screw to attach it through the strap post. Since I don't use a strap anyway this is not a problem for me but could be for someone else. Make the button almost to easy to reach and hit. 5

[0.35 lb] A great cage that surrounds the camera on all edges. The camera body sits firmly inside, with a screw to hold it in place in the bottom and a tight-fitting top edge that keeps the camera in place without any room to jiggle. Performs as expected and gives me just what I wanted out of this cage. 5
