A: Im looking at mine, but it doesn't appear to have an internal metal frame, unless it is molded inside the plastic. I think it looks great on my camera, but more importantly it works great.

A: Tested on A7RIV. Results: Slot 1 with OEM battery, shows percentage. Slot 2 with generic third-party battery, no percentage. Depending on the manufacturer of your battery, the results may vary.

Q: 4. When you turn the grip to off does it turn the whole camera off?

A: The on/off switch would only turn off the vertical shutter release. The main switch on top of the camera would still need to be utilize to shut the camera down fully.

[Glossy] Works like the Sony grips I have had in the past. Actually better than one of those that had a finicky focus selector toggle. No problem with this one. I use the custom buttons all the time and this has the two that I use most. Same battery usage as the Sony models. That is, it uses one battery first till drained and then uses the other in a two battery setup. No draining issues when not in use. As with all the Vello products this hits the spot. 5

[0.03 lb] This is the second Vello battery grip that I own. I must say that the first one that is on another camera saved my camera when it fell while mounted on a tripod. It landed on the battery grip and the only damage was that the battery door latch was slightly bent, so I can vouch for their durability. 5

[Static Adhesion] I have the Sony version on both my A1's but didn't want to spend another $400 for one that is for my A7iv. First of all I'm very happy with my purchase and fits my needs. Although it's not as solid feeling as the Sony. First of all the battery release switch seems flimsy, but it serves it's purpose. Second, the battery tray holds the batteries tight and is not as easy putting in the batteries and removing them. Not a hassle but should be noted. Third, the grip itself has a smaller profile than the Sony. But this is ok for me and with it attached to the camera it fits in my bag easier. Plus it feels nice in my hands. Overall I gave this 5 stars since it was exactly what I was expecting buying an off brand grip for my Sony. If you want to save a ton of money buy this. It works perfectly along with all the buttons. 5
