Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. None of the photos show a connection to AC power. Is there a standard three-prong recepticle plug on each end? (transmitter/receiver).

A: This type of antenna is best powered via PoE.

Q: 2. What GPS Antenna do you recommend?

A: GPS is built-in.

Q: 3. If a pair of these are setup as a bridge, will they use BOTH the 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz bands at the same time for maximum throughput?

A: Yes, installed as a bridge, the unit uses both bands simultaneously.

Q: 4. Can the front of the dome be painted dark ???

A: Painting it will void the warranty but you can do it as long as you are comfortable with that and don't use metallic paint. Ideally using paint for plastic, spraying it will work better than brushing it.

Q: 5. Is this Nano Beam allow me to connect to the internet from my cousin's house at 500 meters in the Dominican Republic? If this is the case, do I need two Nano Beams?

A: Using two of them with line of sight and no obstructions, yes, you could do that using 2 x NBE-5AC-GEN2.

Q: 6. Does this have the same functionality as the Bullet MX, but covers both bands (2.4 and 5ghz)?

A: Yes, this is the dual band version of that hardware.

Q: 7. Excuse my ignarance, is this NanoBeam allow me to connect to the internet?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks NBE-5AC-GEN2 NanoBeam ac Gen2 airMAX BH #UBNBE5ACG2US is designed to be used as a bridge so you would need two units to send a signal from point A to point B, wirelessly. If the unit is connected to a paid internet subscription through one of your local providers, yes, it would give you internet access but this would not give you internet access by itself.

Q: 8. Do the nanobeams have to be paired with the same exact model or can you pair a gen2 with a gen1?

A: I have gen2 and gen1 mixed. Both linked to a Rocket AC. Just choose a frequency that is in range for all of your devices.

Q: 9. Do you have the international version?

A: Only the US version of the Ubiquiti Networks LiteBeam AC Gen2 airMAX ac CPE with Dedicated Management Radio.

Q: 10. Ubiquiti Networks RP-5AC-GEN2 rocket PRISM AC-Gen2 5 GHz airMAX ac Radio BaseStation include the dish?. Thanks

A: Sorry, the dish is separate.

[24 V ± 10%] I am a big Unifi fan. I have setup many of these to out building. It's hard to believe you can get the high speeds I am achieving of over 300 mps.
Highly recommend these.
Setup needs to be a little more plug and play like the Unifi cameras, but there are many YouTube videos showing how to do this..

[Power, Ethernet] Setup was a breeze with the UISP app and mounting it was easy as well with the included hardware. Been running great since the install a week ago.

[64 MB DDR2] Purchased a pair of these antennas to expand my network from the house to a detached garage. I configured the IP addresses and SSID before mounting them and they connected right away. Installation was easy enough. I used 1.25 inch PVC pipe to run the cable through and clamp the antennas on. Network latency is great and I was able to repurpose an old router as a WAP and switch for my garage. Well worth the cost considering they both had PoE adapters included.

[MIPS 74Kc] They take a little getting used to for configuring, but work great after that. Have installed many over the years and they continue to impress as long as duplex networking is not required.

[24 V ± 10%] I have around 150 of these and never have had a problem with them other than the 5.8GHz band is getting crowded.
