Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What about Mole Richardson accessories fitting into the barn door slot? I see that the ARRI accessories are a no go.

A: The closest option would be 5 1/8" scrims from Mole Richardson such as the Mole-Richardson Half Double Moledura Scrim for Tweenie, Betweenie (5 1/8") B&H # MOSHDB. https://bhpho.to/2VB8QZK

Q: 2. hey, the overview says that the light is twice as bright when plugged into AC power. Does that mean it gets the equivalent power of a 300w light when plugged into AC or does that mean that the light normally runs at a 75w when battery powered with a max of 150w when plugged into AC? Thanks!

A: The 150w equivalent is when it is plugged in to AC.On batteries it is like it is the equivalent of a 75w light.

Q: 3. How does the throw / power on this light compare to the Dedolight DLH-4 150 Watt Spotlight?

A: According to Litepanels, the Caliber LED would have the equivalent output of a 150w tungsten lamp.

Q: 4. Would this kit be sufficient to light a single person interview in a medium shot, or would this be better considered for use as specials, to create a lighting effect, as a catch light, or as a accent light, etc.?

A: It could work for that if you are wanting a hard light, your subject isn't moving, and the ambient light isn't overpowering. Typically that would be either indoors without strong backlighting. . . or possibly outdoors at night. Having said that, for the sake of versatility it would be more typical to use a more powerful light source with a softbox option such as this one: Genaray Torpedo Portable Daylight Focusing 3-LED Light Softbox Kit (BH #GEBLT603LSBK) https://bhpho.to/3wF9BRl

Q: 5. What snoot would fit?

A: This snoot will fit. The front of the light is 3" in diameter: Godox Snoot for Round Head Flash Heads BH #GOAKR17 https://bhpho.to/3fZUpsl

Q: 6. Is there a DC extension cable for the Caliber power supply or a more robust power supply?. What is the part # for ext? Not listed on Litepanels site.

A: The best thing would be to do is to attach the AC adapter to an regular extension cord and then that to the wall.

Q: 7. How would this compare to an Aperture 300D? This looks like a better option for me, but is it as bright?

A: The Sola 4+ flood 3000LUX @ 1m, spot 32,000LUX @ 1m. The Aputure is 14,000LUX @ 1m.

Q: 8. Does rechargeable NiMH batteries can work on these lights?

A: Yes, you can use rechargeable AA batteries like these, https://bhpho.to/3h0QxY6 And you will need a charger and this is some options, https://bhpho.to/3doQQto

Q: 9. Does each light use (6) AA batteries or only 2?

A: Each light would take 6 batteries

Q: 10. Hi. How long will the light last on battery power?

A: Depending on the type of batteries you use can change how long it would last. But you can get an estimated hour

[2.15 lb] If you appreciate a small, light, focusable, dimmable 0-100% back-light/rim/hair light you'll be like me -- I bought another set, a few more used, and an array of 1/4 20 mounting accessories (which was never part of my kit before). I can rig these lights in ways I couldn't rig/mount heavier lights before. I can quickly add splash or a bit of tone without trips to the truck. Option to run on batteries at 50% power? I suppose I could have a reason, but would probably just use an external battery for 100%. I thought the little legs silly, until they were perfect for a job. Now have all sorts of 1/4 20 mounts for all sorts of mounting solutions.

[2.15 lb] We ordered the product and it arrived on time. I have tested it and it is running well. I am not sure why the original ballasts went down but this replacement is working well.

[2.15 lb] Well I left a review back in 2017 after I bought it. Im still quite happy with the Fixture. I recently tested the CRI using my Sekonic C-700, the results hovered around 94.0 to 95.0 depending on temperature. I would say Litepanels general claim of a High CRI rings true but the output is no where near a 575w HMI. There are cheaper lights on the market now like the Aputure Storm 300d II that do output the equivalent of the 575w HMI, however I have not tested the CRI as of yet.

[2.15 lb] I needed a high output daylight balanced light source for my light kit and was originally looking for a 400W HMI but finding them cost prohibitive. I started looking into alternatives and discovered the Fresnel 2000 by Dracast. I can honestly say that this light is better in every way and I couldn't be happier with it. This light offers similar throw to a 400W HMI but doesn't require strike time to warm up or cool down, you can adjust spot to flood with the turn of a dial rather than changing lenses, it's more energy efficient and doesn't get hot, you don't have to lug around a ballast, it's fully dimmable, and all for less than half the price of the HMI. The quality of the light is also excellent, no visible color spikes like with cheaper LEDs. With a CRI rating of 90+ colors look as they should. Overall an excellent product and invaluable part of my light kit.

[2.15 lb] First of all you can use Sony NPF batteries to power this light. You need a NPF battery plate with 12vdc out. It runs about 3 hours in full power. Rechargeable AA batteries also work great but half the light power (runs about an hour and 20min). It is a perfect size and weight fresnel light. You can shape the light with barn doors if it is used at 50 to 75 degree. It doesn’t get hot so you can run it all day.

[2.15 lb] Very solid light with a wonderful and even light in both spot and wide. It's closer in brightness to my old 1k Strand Century tungsten Fresnel lights...perhaps 1 or 2 stops dimmer, but this Dracast has a much more even, manageable light source. The older tungsten lights always required a little diffusion to help even the spot that was always present in the center.

Not nearly as bright as the 2K equivalent I was hoping for (about half), but a very well built and pleasing light source. Will buy more.

[2.15 lb] I've only been working as a videographer for about two years, mostly part time, but every now and then I get a great gig to work on during my vacation time. I decided to purchase the Dracast LED 2000 Fresnel because I was going to be traveling to Central America to work on a travel documentary, and I wanted a portable and lightweight LED panel that would be easy and convenient to carry. I also wanted to find something that wouldn't over heat in the hot tropical climates of Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. I feel like I made a great choice. Not only did the Dracast LED 2000 Fresnel deliver on my expectations of convenience and portability, but I can also give it great marks for things like energy saving (I get up to two hours on it, depending on how I am using it), while still providing excellent beam intensity and long distance capabilities. It's essentially an LED fresnel. The color quality is impressively accurate, offering a pure light and no funky color tints. I also appreciated the built in DMX controls that I could control with my external panel. Highly recommended accessory.

[2.15 lb] As a professional videographer I need the perfect lighting for my work which includes indie films and documentaries. I was looking for something portable and lightweight that didn't get hot yet gave a lot of light output. What I love is this light is an LED fresnel. It takes the same advantages of a traditional fresnel light (beam intensity, longer distance) yet has the energy-saving and efficiency pros of an LED light. I'm a fan of the color accuracy-- the purity of the light is great and has no weird color tints. The color temperature remains consistent, no matter how long I use it (30 min-2 hrs), the temp is always accurate and does not dip. How great is that? Another great feature is that this also has built-in DMX controls, so you can control it with an external DMX panel. If you're looking for well priced lighting that's light weight, has great color accuracy and is priced well-this is a great choice!

[2.15 lb] I love this light! I was looking for a LED panel that was easily transportable because I never know where I'll end up working. I enjoy the LED aspect because there are same advantages of the traditional fresnel lighting along with the energy-saving and efficient aspects. This light is lightweight and the panel doesn't get hot which is a major plus as well. You can easily control the DMX with the external DMX panel. What I really love though is that the color temperature is so reliable. There are no weird color tints when in use. I've used this for anywhere between 30 minutes to a couple of hours with very accurate color temperature throughout the whole shoot. Overall this is my favorite light to work with due to it's reliability and quality. Highly recommended!

[2.15 lb] High quality product - I have been using Light&Motion products for over 5 years. They are built tough! They are reliable and worth the price. The night sea is a specialized blue used to see underwater fluorescence during the night. I use a yellow barrier filter to photograph these beautiful colors underwater. This light is for explorers, divers, researchers, scientists and nature lovers.
