Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this kit come with any reels, or must they be purchased separately?

A: You have to purchase separately.

Q: 2. How many millilitres does it take to fill the Multi-Reel 8 Tank?

A: The standard rule of thumb is 10 oz (300 ml) for each 35 mm plastic reel, or 2400 ml or 80 oz. It's a good idea to add a little more chemistry than that. Even if you have 7 rolls of film, you must add the 8th reel and the chemistry to reflect 8 reels to make sure no light leaks in the gap.Or, you may use 5 rolls of 120 film to fill this tank. Each reel requires 500 ml (17 oz), for 5 rolls 2.5 liters (85 oz). Any other combination of 120 and 35: before loading, stack your reels and make sure the funnel locks in place. If too high, the funnel won't lock in place. Don't do it. You won't have a tight seal and you will leak light and fog your film, or worse.

Q: 3. Does the item contain center column, funnel and agitator?

A: Yes. It contains all of these. It just doesn't include the spools.

Q: 4. Is the lid leaking when the tank is inverted? Thank you!

A: No it does not.I use mine for Semi Stand development. So a minimal amount of inversions. You might want to ask someone who processes the way you would want to use it.Hope this helps.

Q: 5. how many exposures can fit on a reel?

A: The most it will handle is a 36 exposures of a 35 mm film! No medium format

Q: 6. I know it says that this (Paterson 35mm) tank will take a single 35mm but will it also take a single 120?

A: No.If you want to develop for 120 film, check the Paterson Universal Tank with Two Reels (Super System 4) On that one you can adjust the reel height to accomodate the 120 film.

Q: 7. how long does it take to fill up the entire tank with chemistry? i believe 5rolls of 135 would require 1500ml of it. do you need to compensate for time to avoid over develop negatives in the bottom?

A: It's only a matter of 10-15 seconds. I compensate about 5 seconds and have never had issues! I've never directly measured how much chemistry, but use a 2L kit and life is easy. I would guess its more around 1600ml!!

Q: 8. How many ounces does this hold when full?

A: The tank requires 10oz (290ml) per 35mm roll of film. The tank can hold 5 rolls of 35mm film so it would require 50oz (1,450ml). The tank can also hold 3 rolls of 120/220 film that requires 17oz (500ml) per roll, so that is 51oz (1,500ml) for 3 rolls of 120/220 film.

Q: 9. Is the Paterson Multi-Reel 3 Developing Tank with 3 reels?Or just a tank?I need to buy 3 reels?

A: You will need 3 reels.

Q: 10. will this tank also take a second 35mm reel?

A: This tank can only hold one reel. To use two reels, you need the Paterson Universal Tank with Two Reels (Super System 4), B&H # PAUT2R

[0.77 lb] I use the tank to develop B&W and color 120mm rolls. Like all other tanks by Paterson this tank is great. From experience make sure you fill it with 2.5L of chemicals and rinse well by shaking the tank not just poor water in.

[Plastic] Imagine farting or screaming into this thing. I don't even own this one but I own a bunch of smaller ones and I can tell you from experience that this one would be 500 times more fun. They all work great so I'm sure this one would be just as fantastic. One day I'll own one, and I'll post a more thorough review.

[0.77 lb] Nice for when I have a single role of film that I need developed instead of waiting to do several

[Plastic] Sometimes I'm lazy and let my negatives build up. This also lets me handle two 4x5 reels (plus a couple 35mm reels)

[Plastic] This tank is the status of art for domestic and professional film developing. Highly recommended.

[Plastic] I use this tank to develop 120 and 4x5 film. It allows me to do five reels of 120 or 12 sheets of 4x5 using two mod 54 reels. Development is even, and there is no scratching. It is a little bulky, but that's not too much of a problem.

[Plastic] I just used my 8 reel tank for the first time yesterday. It was great being able to develop multiple rolls of film...what a time saver. Only a word of caution and this is on the side of human error....if you are processing less than the number of reels for the tank...use full amounts of product or make sure your reels are pushed all the way down to the bottom of the tank. :O)

[0.77 lb] In watching YouTube videos, I didn't really believe it was as easy to use as it seemed. Everything fits together well and the parts are optimised for working in a bag or in the dark.
