$680.97 $953.36

A partnership between two well-known pedal manufacturers, the BOSS JHS JB-2 Angry Driver packs the respective tones and characters of the BOSS BD-2 Blues Driver and the JHS Angry Charlie into one pedal. Usable in parallel, serial, or individually selectable modes, guitarists can now access—and combine—the sonic signatures of the Blues Driver and the aggressive, rocky tones of the Angry Charlie. The pedal has been issued in the recognizable BOSS compact-housing design.

Three dual-concentric knobs are provided, giving you independent control over Drive, Tone, and Level for each of the pedal’s individual distortions. Simply dial in the settings you’d prefer for the Blues Driver section with the outside knobs; the inside controls, on the other hand, are for the JHS circuit.

To the left of these controls, you find a Mode knob which selects the order of overdrive. Here you can choose individual circuits, removing the other stompbox signature from the path entirely. Conversely, you can route the order of the overdrive types in two different series modes, or choose to run the pedal in parallel. You'll also find a setting that allows you to switch between individual overdrive types with the footswitch.

1/4" jacks are offered for your input and your output, while a remote-switch jack gives you the ability to control pedal modes from separately-available footswitches or effects-switching systems. An LED indicator displays different colors for various modes, showing blue for BOSS, red for JHS, and purple for any combination of the two. The pedal both includes and runs on a 9V battery, though you can also power the JB-2 from a purchasable AC adapter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this device with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k? What adaptor would I need to get this to work with a bmpcc 4k?

A: Yes it works with the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. The camera is able to accept SMPTE compliant LTC timecode via the 3.5mm microphone input on the camera. Please check the manual of the camera for more details. If set up properly you will be able to embed the timecode in the video file (no need for pluraleyes or special software) and capture scratch audio if needed. You will need a BNC to 3.5mm cable to make it work. For example you may want to consider the Remote Audio 3.5mm Right Angle to BNC Right Angle Cable - 18" (BH #RECATC18BNC • MFR #CATC1/8BNC)

Q: 2. Will the Waza air work with active and passive pickups?

A: The BOSS Waza-Air Wireless Personal Guitar Amplification System BH #BOWAZAAIR would need to be active.

Q: 3. Does the TC-3 slate have this device built into it?

A: The Deneke TS-3 Time Code Slate reads and displays SMPTE/EBU Time Code; it utilizes an internally mounted SB-2 Syncbox Time Code Generator.

Q: 4. Can I use this with the Red Komodo and Tentacle Sync Recorder and Tentacle Sync to Red Komodo timecode cable?

A: The Denecke JB-1 Syncbox Timecode Generator (B&H# DEJB1) can use the Tentacle Sync Tentacle to BNC Cable (Straight, 16") (B&H# TEC06) to provide time code for jam-syncing the Tentacle Sync TRACK E Pocket Audio Recorder with Lavalier Mic and Timecode Support (B&H# TETRACKE). And one could indeed connect the Denecke JB-1 Syncbox Timecode Generator (B&H# DEJB1) with the RED DIGITAL CINEMA EXT-to-Timecode Cable (3') (B&H# REEXTTOTC3) to the RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO 6K Digital Cinema Camera (Canon RF) (B&H# REKOMB).

Q: 5. Will this allow me to jam timecode if I am shooting on a URSA mini 4k (first edition) and recording audio to a Zoom H4N Pro (2020 edition)? any noticeable downfalls with this setup that you know of? Denecke said it would work with the URSA mini but didnt know about the Zoom H4N Pro

A: We are not aware of this working for that purpose.

Q: 6. Hi, can this work with L-Trac Red Trackball (BH #XKLTRTB)? I am looking for a peripheral (foot pedal) for the L-Trac that can act as the mouse-clicking function. Thank you!

A: Sorry, no. The Boss FS-5U - Footswitch - Unlatch will not be able to work as a foot clicker with a mouse.

Q: 7. How can I get a new battery cell of JB-1?

A: You will want to reach out to Denecke for assistance with this issue. Tel: 661-607-0206 Email info@denecke.com

Q: 8. Is it compatible with Tele Vue-76?

A: The Tele Vue Focusmaster Driver 10:1 will work with the Tele Vue-76 newer version, black pinion 10:1 focus. And will not with the older scopes.

Q: 9. What happens with the timecode when I am recording at 60fps?

A: From the manufacturer; 60fps is the Video Frame Rate. The TC frame rate will be half of that. So, 60 fps Video = 30 fps TC. Please note, that many times the video frame rate is referred to as '60' when it is actually '59.94'. In this case, the timecode rate is 29.97fps. I have a strong hunch that this is the case here. 30\60 is very rarely used theses days.

Q: 10. Will this sync a VCR and DVD recorder when copying videotapes?

A: This product will not be able to do that.

[-20 dBu] First, I love this item . I have a Roland GR55 now. When I have access to AC power, I have a ball with it.
But,
I busk in my town’s Main Street where AC power is not available. Granted, the SY-1 isn’t as sophisticated and the GR 55, but now I can expand my guitars palette of tones.

I had been searching for this item for months. All the typical outlets kept pushing their in stock dates forward in time. I even made a purchase of the SY-1 on eBay, only to have the seller cancel the sale for no apparent reason.
I searched again and saw it listed on B&H. It said it was in stock. I called and was told it was in inventory. A few days later it was in my hands .

Cannot Be too positive about my experience with B&H. They came thru..hands down.

I have shopped with them before, but now, they are my first go to place for music gear.

THANK YOU!!

[1 kOhm] Dimension C & D from the Waza folks a Roland/Boss is truly Amazing tech and sound enhancement. I loved the Dimension D from the old days, but could never afford it. Now this pedal offers so much more and a cleaner, deeper sound - customizable and for the quality and richness of the sound, also very affordable!
