Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can this umbrella be used with speed lights for example the? Nikon SB910

A: Any umbrella like this can be used with Speedlights with an umbrella mount. (You have to buy an umbrella mount for Speedlights) the difference between this umbrella and cheaper umbrellas are strong build quality and a deeper profile to help focus the light forward a bit more than a traditional shallower umbrella.

Q: 2. Is the Medium big enough for standing full length portraits without too much fall off?

A: A Profoto Deep Medium Umbrella can cover a full length portrait without too much fall off depending on the positioning.

Q: 3. What size core does this roll have? is it compatible with the canon pro-2100 printer?

A: The Awagami Factory Kozo Thin White Paper Roll has a 3 inch core but it is too thin for use in the Canon 2100 printer. The paper is 0.16mil and your printer requires paper that is 3mil or thicker.

Q: 4. Can the black cover come off?

A: No, the black backing is fully integrated into the umbrella and does not come off. Profoto does manufacture a translucent white version of this umbrella - but that's obviously expensive. If you're looking for a lightbox option to pair with the umbrella, I'd suggest the umbrella diffuser - it is a lot less expensive that another umbrella and definitely extends the range of lighting options the umbrella provides. - I hope this helps.

Q: 5. What is the organic solution that they brush on each sheet?

A: Photographers' Formulary Sensitizer B for Platinum and Palladium Printing (30ml) is used to coat Awagami Factory Platinum Mitsumata Uncoated Art Paper (11.69 x 8.27", Warm White, 5 Sheets).

Q: 6. Are they lint free gloves?

A: The Sensei Anti-Static Gloves are not specifically lint-free, though they have minimal lint.

Q: 7. is it possible to use colored pencil and or watercolor paint on this paper?

A: The Awagami Factory Kozo Natural Double-Layered Inkjet Paper can be used with colored pencil and watercolor paints.

Q: 8. Does each sheet print on its own, or do you have to add a backing piece of paper for inkjet printing?

A: Each sheet prints on its own and it is designed for Inkjet printers.

Q: 9. What is the maximum wattage hotlight one can use with this?

A: This softbox is only rated for strobes with a modeling lamp of 250 watts or below as well as low heat LED fixtures.

Q: 10. What is the grain direction of Awagami Factory Bamboo Inkjet Paper (A3+, 13 x 19", 10 Sheets)?

A: The Awagami Factory Bamboo Inkjet Paper (A3+, 13 x 19", 10 Sheets) has a short grain direction.

[Matte] This paper requires very careful handling but is very sensual and is a beautiful medium for the art prints. Enjoyed purchasing it very much.

[Single] Love it! Its more efficient since it grabs more light from your bulb. More directional due to the deep parabolic design. Also it minimizes lens flare because the light is deep in the umbrella (less stray light from your strobe). Good build quality, nice case.

[200 gsm] I am so pleased with how well this paper is working for me. And the ICC profiles for my P900 are surprisingly good (surprising to me at any rate). Now…if I can sell the prints…

[5x Sheet Paper] There is little doubt that using washi is for many a new experience. In general, prints rendered on washi have less contrast and saturation then prints produced on Western digital papers. Nevertheless, the subtleties of tone and color produced in prints on washi reveal nuances that heretofore might not be appreciated. Kozo has a unique surface structure and a subtle hand that reinforce the hand-made nature of washi. Gone is the gob smacked in your face HDR effect of prints on some Western papers and revealed is an artistic print that becomes addicting. Once digital printing artists use Awagami washi it is difficult to use anything else.

[0.89 lb] I used a 1922 Austrian woodblock print as the background for a business card. Inbe Thick is about 32 lb paper, the thickest that will go through my b&w laser printer. I've printed on it, torn it, soaked it in water. Its very strong, it tears cleanly and it has a superb subtle, very subtle, texture and its smooth and feels really good. Awagami is a special company. They have about twenty different papers made just for digital printing. Inbe is the whitest. Theres no bleach or brighteners. B&h delivered twenty pages of thick inbe for a little less than forty dollars. I've made a commitment to have Awagami paper.
