The FotodioX WonderPana FreeArc Kit for Sigma 20mm Art Lensis a two-piece assembly designed to be used in combination with a FotodioX WonderPana FreeArc Core Unit, a WonderPana 145 Core Unit, or a WonderPana FreeArc Aluminum Step-Up Ring. A WonderPana Core Unit or a WonderPana FreeArc Aluminum Step-Up Ring with the WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket attached can then allow for the convenient use of two 2.5 to 4.0mm-thick filters measuring 6.6" wide, or one 2.5 to 4.0mm-thick filter measuring 6.6" wide along with one FotodioX 145mm round filter behind it.

Use of this holder bracket is easily accomplished by separately attaching its two assembly pieces to opposite sides of a WonderPana Core Unit or a WonderPana FreeArc Aluminum Step-Up Ring using the six included brass short-screws. Pre-tapped threaded inserts along the edge of a WonderPana Core Unit or FreeArc Aluminum Step-Up Ring accommodate those screws and ensure correct positioning of the two assembly pieces so that they are positioned parallel to each other and can hold a 6.6"-wide filter between them. The combined WonderPana Core Unit, or WonderPana FreeArc Aluminum Step-Up Ring, and WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket can then be attached to a compatible lens.

For WonderPana Core Units that consist of a rear lens collar and a front filter holder, pre-tapped threaded inserts along the edge of the front filter holder accommodate the six brass short-screws for correct positioning of the WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket's two assembly pieces. Once the holder bracket and a front filter holder are combined, and the separate collar has been slid over the rear of a compatible lens until it has achieved a secure fit, the front filter holder with the attached holder bracket can be screwed onto the front of the installed rear lens collar.

After being fitted onto a compatible lens, the bearing design of the WonderPana FreeArc Core Units and WonderPana FreeArc Aluminum Step-Up Rings allows a WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket to be rotated 360°. This permits the use of graduated neutral density and other filters that are enhanced by varied positioning. While a WonderPana 145 Core Unit does not include a 360° rotating mechanism, eight pre-tapped threaded inserts all around its edge allows the WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket to be installed in 45° increments so that rectangular filters placed within it can be angled to the best approximate position relative to the subject in front of the camera.

The FotodioX WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket provides two pairs of filter slots, a configuration that accommodates two compatible rectangular filters. For each rectangular filter that is placed within one of the holder bracket's slots, its position can be secured using the included brass long-screws. Pre-tapped threaded inserts along the outside of the holder bracket allow the long-screws to each apply pressure to a spring-loaded retainer within each filter slot. When a pair of the long-screws are used, the level of grip upon a rectangular filter can be varied, which can complement the use of graduated filters whose effect can be adjusted to better suit changing lighting conditions or creative demands by sliding them up or down within a filter slot.

Each FotodioX WonderPana Core Unit or WonderPana FreeArc Aluminum Step-Up Ring includes front filter threads, which allow a FotodioX 145mm round filter to be used along with this filter holder. If a 145mm round filter is used on the attached WonderPana Core Unit or WonderPana FreeArc Aluminum Step-Up Ring, the rectangular filter slot closest to the rear of the holder bracket becomes unavailable. The WonderPana 6.6" Holder Bracket features a lightweight, aluminum-alloy construction that has a corrosion-resistant, black anodized finish for durability. A rigid pouch is included for storage and transport.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens work on a Canon 6ti?

A: If you mean Canon T6i then yes. However you should keep in mind that this lens was designed for full frame cameras and the T6i is has a cropped sensor so instead of 20mm that you would get with a full frame camera like a Canon 5D you are effectively getting 32mm.You can calculate the true focal length you would get by multiplying the lens' 20mm by 1.6 which your camera's crop factor.

Q: 2. Will this lense work on an SL1?

A: Yes, this lens is compatible with the Rebel SL1.

Q: 3. Does the filter holder or filters block any of the field of view of sigma 14-24 mm dg hsm f mount lense?

A: The FotodioX WonderPana FreeArc XL Core Unit Kit for Sigma 14-24mm Art Lens with 8.0" Holder Bracket does not vignette on the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens.

Q: 4. I am looking close at this lens because of the fast aperture. I shoot exclusively at night and wondering if anyone knows if this lens has coma?

A: Every lens has coma/ comatic aberration.DXOMARK rates it at this link and you can compare it with other lenses. But as lenses go it is a very good lens for low coma compared to other lenses, http://bit.ly/2ay1IWA.

Q: 5. How does this fit the Sigma 12-24mm when the hood doesn't detach? Do I need another accessory?

Q: 9. Will this work on the new Sigma 12-24 Art?

A: It works well with the 11-24 canon so I can only assume that it will work with that lens. n Needs to be kept spotlessly clean so as to avoid flare abboration

Q: 10. will this lens work with my Canon 70D? and will the auto focus still work

[0.665 lb] The fact is I've tired of waiting for the Leica Super APO Summicron-SL 21mm to become available so I tried the Sigma 20mm on my SL2. The image I've attached was shot at f/5.6, ISO 100 in DNG so no in camera corrections. Colors are rich and accurate, contrast is what I expect from a raw image on my SL2. As a well known YouTube reviewer has said many times 99% of the images from this lens will impress most of us 99% of the time. Give it a try!

[Aluminum] The lens is sharp and easy to focus. Initial results are very good. I use it on a Canon 6D and a Sony A7R2 w/a Metabones adapter, and all automatic functions work fine with fast autofocus. The fast aperture combined with the Sony's in-body image stabilization yields very reliable, sharp results even in very dark conditions. It's big, but not as big as my Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8. The large aperture permits creative options not possible with other super-wide lenses I've used. In particular, I can do selective depth of field effects similar to what I've done with tilt-shift lenses. I plan to use the lens extensively for star field shots, but haven't had the opportunity to test it in that application yet. The lens feels very solid and well-built.

[0.665 lb] Just took it out of the box for Christmas and shot a couple of test shots. Nice solid feel and great in low light so far.

[0.665 lb] What else is there to say? The Sigma 20mm f1.4 Art is an ultra-fast, ultra-wide, ultra-well-built lens. The auto focus performs very well on the Lumix s5ii, and the flat front element allows for standard filters to be used.

[Aluminum] Just received the lens so no time for full evaluation. I have had the HSM 20mm for Canon and have used on Sont A7r4 with Metabones adapter. I have enjoyed the HSM lens for use in low light but used sparingly due to weight and fear of damaging front element during casual use. I bought the DG,DN lens because I figured I would get to use it more often but did not consider the improvement in photo IQ or video performance. I saw a couple of reviews comparing Sony 1.8 stating the Sony was a little sharper and I was not expecting a large increase in the IQ over old HSM. I think I was wrong. So far with only about 100 test images, this lens appears to be a definite improvement over the HSM. New Lens also much better for video since no adapter needed. Very fast, accurate focusing improves IQ as well. Very impressed. Very happy so far. Plan to use new lens a lot especially in low light. Kudos to B&H for super-fast delivery!!

[0.665 lb] I purchased this lens for night exposures. I am not a fan of stacking so this fits my style and the lens has worked even better than expected. I do shoot at f1.4 for about 15-20 seconds at ISO 500-600. This is underexposing a bit, l but the RAW file works nicely and, the noise is acceptable and the reduced ISO looks great on an enlarged print

[Aluminum] This is an outstanding addition to my Canon 5DsR. The Canon lens I had been using never produced enough sharpness or contrast to utilize the 50 megapixel image of my camera. The Sigma 20mm Art lens proved it's reputation on the first image.

[0.665 lb] The lens is built like a tank. You get that impression when the package arrives, before you see it. It's heavy, solidly built and feels very good in the hand (it's nearly as heavy as the 70-200mm F2.8). With a lens that heavy and well built, you'd expect it to have great picture quality and...it doesn't disappoint. I've used the lens professionally for real estate photography and expect to use it on other projects as well. It's bright, fast and wide—perfect for architectural, landscape and night skies (I experimented just one night with a few pictures and wow! It's awesome). I've experimented shooting wide open at 1.4 - 2.0 and didn't see a noticeable difference in sharpness, although I preferred shooting at around 1.8 - 2.0. I highly recommend it!
