A: I bought a large for my husband. He has a 44 inch chest. He thinks the large would fit a 46 inch chest also. He uses this vest as a photographer for college sporting events. He really likes the vest. Highly recommended!

Q: 6. Will the XL version of these work well with a Nikon 70-200 2.8 and 24-70 2.8? The large fits but requires 2 hands to take on and off as it is pretty snug.

A: No, I'm afraid the XL will be too big and fall off as you're moving. I use the XL on y Sigma 105 f/1.4 hood and its a lot bigger than the 70-200 hood. I use the L over the hood of the 70-200, 24-70, & 17-35 without issue. If you want one for use without the hood, the M seems to fit. Be aware that after walking in the hot sun, they do stretch quite a bit and become a lot looser.

Q: 7. I wear women's XL what size wouldn't I need in men's size. I will be wearing it over a packable down jacket in winter?

A: I wear a women's 18/20 and have the men's extra large. I would not be able to wear a down jacket with it, only a wool or flannel shirt with it (not insulated). I really wish they would design these for women as well. Since we are shaped different, men's clothing just don't fit right.

A: I don't know. Are they different brands or different models? Perhaps B&H has an excess inventory of black and is discounting that color? Have you talked to Customer Service?

A: Best is to measure yourself. It should be lose so you can use it with a sweater and with your equipment. Under each one under specifications it lists the size of the vest in terms of Chest, Back length and shoulder.With your height I feel you should go with the larger or extra large.
