Record or stream an SDI, VGA, or DVI-I/HDMI signal via USB 3.1 Gen 1 with the Magewell USB Capture AIO | Video Capture Devicefrom Magewell. With its BNC SDI, DB-9 VGA, and DVI-I inputs, this capture device will accept video resolutions up to 2048 x 2160. If you need to stream or record at a certain resolution, the USB Capture AIO will internally up- or down-covert the input signal to the set resolution. It can also perform frame rate conversion and deinterlacing in real time with its own hardware, taking the processing load off your computer's CPU.

Because the USB Capture AIO uses the existing drivers on your computer, the capture device will work with any software that supports those drivers. If you don't have a USB 3.1 Gen 1 port available, the unit will work with a USB 2.0 port, although the resolution and frame rate capabilities will be reduced due to the restricted bandwidth. With the included breakout cable, you can input high-resolution HDMI 1.4a video via the DVI input. Also included is a DVI to VGA connector, a USB cable, and a DB9 to YC/composite/analog audio component breakout cable.

A: We are not aware of any overheating issues. This can even operate between 32 to 122°F. There are no vents, but the heat sync within the unit helps.

A: no this will NOT work with USB 2.0 computers, USB 2.0 does not have the bandwidth to support the Video signals.

A: This Star Tech Capture Device includes Stream Catcher Software which you can configure to use with RTMP services like Youtube. You will be able to stream to Youtube with this product.

A: While the product is able to encode videos to the H.264 format, which is a file that a Mac will be able to read, you cannot hook it up and encode to a Mac directly. This is a Windows only product. [SDI: 2-Channel] Have had other cheaper unit fail on the job. NOT GOOD! Magewell works well and has a embedder / de-Embedder on it as well. I use a headphone in the de-embedder jack to confirm audio is present 5

[Manual Control] I first purchased the StarTech Video Capture Adapter Cable, which did work but it took me several days to get digitized video that was acceptable. It also took a long time to end up with MP4 files. I had to do another conversion with an H.264 encoder which more than doubled the production time. After a chat session with StarTech I decided that the way to go was to purchase their hardware solution. It did cost about 4 times as much, but all of the heavy lifting is done in the hardware and not in software as was the case with the adapter cable product. The hardware figures out the best capture configuration for the video source, then delivers the digitized video to my computer's USB 3.0 port. The Stream Catcher software provided has a few configuration settings, but it's nothing like the complexity of the adapter cable product. And, one of the output formats available is MP4 which was not the case with the other product. The video quality seems very good. The device has a lot of additional capabilities that I don't need, but may be just what others need. Spend a few more dollars and get a really good solution to support your video capture needs. 5

[1.22 lb] I've been using this capture device to convert my camera's SDI signal to USB, sending it to my laptop for Zoom conference calls. Before that I've had an HDMI/USB capture device and it wasn't as reliable. This little guy has been fantastic... works flawlessly every time with no issues. Also, setup was super easy. 5

[1.22 lb] I used this to capture off my Canon XA35 and transmit live to Facebook. it worked great. My only issue was that Pinnacle would not recognize the device for live display, but the included software worked great and I could use it to capture. I worked with Pinnacle a lot to no avail. Pinnacle worked great with my Firewire connectivity in the past, but I went to SDI for the new camera. This is a Pinnacle problem but may manifest on other software. I was totally happy with this item. 5
