Because of the optically clear plastic, whatever is being stored can be viewed and displayed without difficulty. Each side of the 1.5 mil biaxially oriented polypropylene sleeve has received the Corona treatment to emit low static charge, which results in not attracting as much dust. The sleeve is sealed on three sides, and prints are top loaded through the top side. The acid-free polypropylene makes the sleeve suitable for long-term storage of materials. Additionally, the high tensile strong plastic can also hold multiple prints or a photograph that has been matted and mounted to a board.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How thick are these? HAMA has 2 thicknesses. 3.2mm and 2.3mm. The 3.2 for ordinary paper mounts. How thick are ClearFile???

A: The ClearFile Archival-Plus Slide Page, 35mm - 100 Pack is 6 mil / 0.2 mm thick.

Q: 2. do these have a crisp feel or a floppy feel?

A: The Archival Methods 3-Sided Sleeves (4 x 6", 100-Pack) are floppy.

Q: 3. What are the sleeves made of?

A: Based on Google, they are made of Polyethylene which has been proven safe for long periods of time. They also have no PVC in them. I've been using them for years with no issues.

Q: 4. dose it have binder holes? for secured Storage in a ring-binder

A: These are normal sleeves without binder holes.

Q: 5. What box or binder will hold these ClearFile Archival Plus Negative (10 strips, 4-frame) pages? Two options were suggested in an earlier Q&A but B&H no longer carries one of them, and the other is too expensive for the volume of pages we will need.

A: The Archival Methods 06-102 Binder Box (1.5 O-Ring, Black) B&H # ARBBB is fine to hold these pages.

Q: 6. Are the openings of these large enough to comfortable fit SLEEVED 8x10 films (meaning 8x10 films that are sleeved in a product like this https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/214727-REG/Lineco_Archivalware_PL14503_Proline_Sheet_Film_Sleeve.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/214727-REG/Lineco_Archivalware_PL14503_Proline_Sheet_Film_Sleeve.html/a ?

A: Short answer, no.If you're already putting your film in a sleeve, you'll run the risk of scratching and getting dust on it. If you want to sleeve it twice, the risk is doubled. I use the Print File to store my 8x10 film, and I don't use anything in conjunction with it. The Print file has held up very well over 20 years with my negs and I wouldn't use anything else. They offer enough protection by themselves, no need to use the Lineco.

Q: 7. If you pick up the Binder by the Spleen will all the Negatives fall out of the Sleeve?

A: If you pick it up by the ring side of the sleeve the negatives might fall out.

Q: 8. Which binder from B&H can these sleeves fit in?

A: The Adox ADOFILE 120 Negative Sleeves can work with many binders. This some of many, https://bhpho.to/48KBBWR

Q: 9. Are these enveloped ungummed or gummed?

A: ungummed.

Q: 10. How thick are these compared to the Print File sleeves?

A: According to the manufacturer, Adox, they state that the thickness of one polypropylene layer is 70 µm (2.76 mil). One Adofile is made of two layers, so the thickness of the whole file is around 140 µm (5.5 mil). PrintFile's website states that the PrintFile 35-7BXW Negative Pages (package of 100) has a 3 mil (76.2 µm) top sheet and a 1.8 mil (45.72 µm) bottom sheet, so the thickness of the whole file is 4.8 mil (121.92 µm).

[1.65 lb] These sleeves are a nice way to store negatives while keeping them visible for review. Cost is excellent and as usual delivery by B&H was timely!

[1.65 lb] These seem to designed and manufactured just as they should be. Some users may want to cut one edge on the long side so that prints can easily be pulled out for viewing,, but the material is certainly very clear and this shouldn't be necessary. Note that if you were hoping that these will easily fit back into the 17x22 box that your inkjet paper came in, they are not a good fit and it's best to look for an alternative such as the Onyx boxes from the same supplier.

[Polypropylene] Love the larger quantity of negatives each page holds, it allows for more bulk loaded exposures at a time.
