The S2V from Adam Professional Audio is an active studio reference monitor designed for vertical orientation in small to medium-sized control rooms. Capable of delivering 350W RMS of cumulative amp power, it features a 7” HexaCone woofer and handmade folded-ribbon tweeter. The Adam-designed high-range propagation system (HPS) waveguide ensures a wide, stable sweet spot.

Developed for transparency, the S2V’s frequency response is an impressive 35 Hz – 50 kHz. A multitude of DSP options, from equalization to delay, are provided for tailoring the monitor to the room and to personal preferences. The back panel features an OLED display and a push-button/rotary encoder to allow modification of parameters. Connect a computer to the USB Type-A jack for convenient remote access to all the S2V’s settings.

Two inputs, balanced analog and AES3 digital, are available via XLR jacks. An XLR AES3 output is provided to route digital signal to the second monitor, necessary for correct digital signal flow. Vary input sensitivity and output level as needed. Load and save voicing presets for quick configuration of monitor options. If further tonal adjustments are desired, there is a 6-band parametric EQ with high-pass and low-pass filters. Use up to 5 ms of delay for timing adjustments.

Adam S Series monitors, custom-developed with no off-the-shelf components, are handmade in Berlin according to strict manufacturing tolerances.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use it as desktop speakers?

A: Yes. These will work on a desktop. Isolation pads are usually a good option to ensure the desk does not resonate with the speakers. I would recommend using an audio interface for the best sound out of a computer, but a cable like this can be a less costly solution to output sound from a computer: https://bhpho.to/3yudNDe

Q: 2. Did Rokit solve the black goo of death problem? I have a pair of Rocket 6s that are self destructing because of this goo.

A: KRK has not formally acknowledged the Black Goo Issue.

Q: 3. what is the ohm ratings for these speakers?

A: The input impedance rating for the Adam Professional Audio T8V T-Series Active Nearfield Monitor is listed as 10 kOhm / 20 kOhm.

Q: 4. Volume ntrol? Seems there is no knob on speaker..... how can you control volume? If I need external control, who makes the best?

A: There is not a volume control. although there is an input sensitivity control. The best way to control volume is by using a Mackie Big Knob: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1313074-REG/mackie_big_knob_passive_studio.html

Q: 5. What is the differnce between the 8030C and the G Three?

A: Internally, the Genelec 8030C 5" 2-Way 100W Active Studio Monitor (Single, Raw) and the Genelec G Three are identical. The two models differ in their input connector types and rear controls: - 8030C only has an XLR input, while the G Three has RCA and XLR inputs - 8030C uses a trim pot to adjust volume, while the G Three only uses dip switches - Bass and treble EQ controls vary slightly between the two - G Three has a dip switch to turn off the LED light on the front, while the 8030C does not

Q: 6. What cables do I need to connect to my MacBook Pro ?

A: You will need more than cables. The first thing you will need is a Peavey USB-P - USB "Direct Box". You can find it on the B&H website BH #PEUSBP. Then 2 XLR cables to connect the speakers to the Peavey.

Q: 7. I assume these monitors cannot be used in the vertical orientation?

A: The A8H's waveguides can be rotated, allowing them to be used either horizontally or vertically.

Q: 8. What is the best way to attach this to my MBP? I'm doing video editing and I don't have any Mixers / USB audio interface stuff. I just have the 1/8 inch headphone jack....

A: You can use a cable to connect from the headphone jack in your Mac Book Pro to the back of this monitor. However your audio will sound nicer if you intergrade a audio interface to the setup. The cable you will need to connect two of the Genelecs to the computer is in the link bellow. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1102499-REG/hosa_technology_hmx_010y_1_8_stereo_mini_to.html

Q: 9. Because this active monitor has DSP technology, will there be a delay from the signal going in to the sound coming out?

A: The SC204 is designed to process audio with undetectable latency.

Q: 10. Does it come with the speaker grates?

A: Sorry, grates are not included.

[30.5 lb] Monitors are of good quality, scooped up sound. Very pleased with them, thinking maybe adding T10 sub along for a full mix preview.

[Vertical] So Ive had these for a little under a year now, and my god am I impressed. If you were to tell me these were 400 a pair I would have told you youre out of your mind. BUT, these are no joke. Very crisp, clear sound and perfect for mixing EDM. Might I suggest buying a T10S for the ultimate sub $1k 2.1 studio monitoring system

[35 Hz to 50 kHz] I've used yamahas, rokits, mackies and a few other brands and they were ok. These however really sound fantastic. They are heavy and made of good quality materials. I wish they had a protective shield of some kind to protect from kids poking their fingers in there. Low end sounds nice and tight - I was not expecting that from 5 speakers! Higher and mid frequencies sound really crisp and clean. Really happy with the purchase so far!

[20 x 17 x 14"] I moved my studio monitors, Adam ANF10s, to my listening room. Therefore, I needed to replace them in my studio. I auditioned several different monitors. KRK, Yamaha, etc. Before purchasing, I listened to the Adam T5V. These monitors had the familiar Adam sound that I was used to. Their clarity was second to none and put the other monitors I auditioned in the back seat.
I cannot recommend the Adam T5V monitors enough. Definitely a great monitor choice.

[3 kHz] The sound is flat (that's a good thing) and precise. The bass response is respectable, not at all boomy or bloomy and the treble is very well-behaved.

[30.5 lb] You won't find a cleaner sound than this at this price point. Worth every last cent and more.
