A: Yes this will work with a Shure BLX bodypack transmitter.

Q: 3. Can you get replacement cables?

A: Replacement cables for the Galaxy Audio HSM4 Dual-Ear Headset Microphone and 4 Cables with 3.5mm Connectors can currently be found at the manufacturer's website: https://bit.ly/3K0tqZh

Q: 7. Does the Galaxy Audio HSM4 Dual-Ear Headset Microphone work with the Shure BLX4 receivers H9 frequesncy/ band?

Q: 9. Would this work for singing?

A: Probably not as well as it does for speaking.

Q: 10. Can the wireless handheld mic accept a cord? If so, do you sell a compatible cord?

A: No, the Galaxy Audio TVHH Wireless Handheld Cardioid Dynamic Microphone is not able to be adapted with a cable for a hardwired connection to the Galaxy Audio TV8 Traveler 8" 120W 2-Way Rechargeable PA System. The system has a standard 3-Pin XLR microphone input for use with similar wired microphones such as the Shure SM58-CN Vocal Microphone with Cable (BH #SHSM58CN).

[0.5" / 12.3 mm] First obvious observation was it wasn't as thick (thankfully) in diameter as it appears in the photo. It's very lightweight but strong. Audio is clean and natural sounding. It's a bit of a task replacing back in the case but not unexpected by it's style. (Better to have the shape preserved). Excellent feedback rejection. (5 Stars to B&H Support helping in it's selection).

[0.12 lb] I use this for reference monitoring in a production sound environment. The mic serves as talkback to my boom op. I am so used to the sound of the 7506 phones that I don't really feel the need to experiment with anything else for this application. However, I do find that the phones get a little tired after a few years with loss of low end. I think that I held out longer to replace these than I do with my normal, unmodded Sonys...entirely due to the price. Also, one has to use this either with the Remote audio coms system or purchase the xlr/.25ins termination. I am very glad that I did buy them now, the quality is very good.

[110 dB SPL] With the Azden 105ULH system I now have the capability to have 2 lapel mics. I intend to use these with video recording of my family trip to europe this summer. I use the single all the time and it works beautifully.

[TA3F mini-XLR] Purchased this mike along with the Galaxy TV-MBP5 and TVDRECG to upgrade a Galaxy Audio TV10 self-contained portable PA, itself a rather nice piece. The Mike comes wired specifically for the TVMBP. Mic is well built, directional and sensitive. Wearing it at sternum level provides very good pickup. System is used for outdoor worship service (Catholic Mass) and works well for that application.

[0.12 lb] The lavalier mic that came with the Azden Pro Video Mic System was an Omni and it picked up sound from all directions. Now there is a uni mic that excludes unwanted side and back noise.

[50 Hz to 18 kHz] We have used SEVERAL brands of omni headset mics.
These and the DPA mics topped the list, in a shootout of several mics, topped the list in quality and clarity.
All I use at this point are these mics. They are cheap, easy to repair, and sound great!

[250 µA maximum] I’ve been using many different brands, types and sizes of headsets for decades in live dialogue amplification applications. I have purchased scores of them over the years, and currently have a good sized locker of various DPA, Countryman, Sennheiser, Shure, Audio Technica, and other headset mics. Compared to the usual industry leaders, the Galaxy HSM8 sounds just fine - clean, plenty of headroom, feedback resistant, and easy to e.q. in the typical headset fashion.
My users report it to be exceptionally comfortable... “forgot I was wearing it” is typical. I like the adjustability system. Simple, makes sense, packs down quickly into the case, and most importantly it is intuitive for users to put on by themselves. This was a BIG plus for me. Right out of the box, it just seemed to sit of the average size head and work without any fussiness. Historically, I’m generally putting headsets on for people because they seem to struggle with self-installation, but the HSM-8 seems to be the welcome exception.
Last but not least, It is a HUGE plus that the mic comes with four (!) spare cables. FINALLY, a manufacturer who realizes that these fussy little cables are normal wear items that must be routinely replaced. I’m all for high end audio, but come on...The greatest sounding headset in the world Is useless if the cable routinely breaks and cannot be field repaired. (hint to DPA) And, when cables can be replaced, but spares are so expensive that I have to specially budget to carry three or four with me, that’s not much better either (Hint to Countryman).
Bottom line: Galaxy has a great idea here. A comfortable, reasonably priced headset with all the right features AND which sounds quite good. I bet they will sell a ton of them. I’m very happy with mine!
